"You guys keeping up alright?" Setsumi tossed a smile to the younger kitsus, slowing her pace enough to walk at their side. The distance since leaving the beach had helped to clear her head thankfully. And it did help that the air was not as heated as it was in the desert, instead a light breeze tickled their fur and the short grass beneath their paws. Her green eyes gleamed in better spirits, and she couldn't help the occasional "thank you" that whispered from her lips. Gaze then flitted to Ronan, busy with prowling about in the light grass.

Stupid dragonflies, darting about everywhere. It didn't help that his pelt was so bright! Blue, poofy tails flicked vertically as the adult male continued his task, if only to pass the time. The jungle was of shorter distance than the beach had been. Even where they stood, the deep green edge of the dense landscape seemed to wave to them just beyond the flat grassland.

Liliana usually did not think of her being smaller as a disadvantage, though she did now feel a little embarrassed that Setsumi had to slow down to walk with them. Maybe she simply wanted to? Lily smiled, not certain what to think. Here they were... walking though the short grass as if taking no more than a pleasant stroll through Mother's gardens... No. Liliana did not know what to think.

"Sure." The winged female replied with a smile, fanning her wings slightly in the cool breeze, not missing the whispered thanks & responding only with gentle smiles and nods. She giggled a little at the way the iridescent insects darted around Ronan and flicked her tails lightly in an attempt to draw their attention. They certainly could not be more annoying than Tien & the other fae at home. Small creatures who -truthfully- the crimson female was starting to miss.

Her gaze shifted to the alchemist, a tenderness in her green eyes. She had not been sure what this journey would bring... but somehow, Liliana knew as long as they were together it would all be fine. Wonderful, really.

Lily tried not to think about whether she deserved to be happy after... No. she would not think about it. Not when the day promised to be so beautiful. Another smile, a flick of her tails.

She glanced ahead to the flicker of deep green. "Is that where we're going?" Soft awe colored her voice.

The young alchemist had the shortest legs but was still physically fit. He kept up as bes he could, despite his height disadvantage. He didn't really reply to Setsumi's question, seems that Edward's thoughts were in a far away land. However, he did catch Lily's gaze and smiled softly, his fondness for her clearly expressed.

Golden eyes looked to the waving grasses around them as the pleasant breeze blew and also ruffled his hair a little. "I could transmute some of this grass into bread, to eat later" he said halfly to himself. Although a glance was given to Lily. She would have to carry it in her bag if he did so. But atleast it would save them some time and energy in finding their own food later on.

"Yeah, that there is the jungle. It's named Mothare and is known for holding many secrets of legends and such." But the wild environment was too enormous to find and successfully understand those secrets. It was an interesting idea though, making the female's ears perk in thrill. Afterall, it was the location of her origins. A smile was brought at the reminiscing and she trotted at a quicker pace, her path disturbing a patch of butterflies. The air thrummed with tiny wings as the colorful insects took flight, zigzagging about the group of kitsus. Some daring to land on fur and tails.

Ronan's face perked from his prowling, ears twitching in odd surprise. "Grass into bread?" White eyes peered to the alchemist, wondering how that meal should taste. The dragonflies were ignored as he padded up to the group. "I'd like to see that little stunt." He was curious of the process, such as how much grass would vanish for the project. A lopsided grin was given and he rubbed his light hair. "Err, if ya don't mind." Attempting to be nice was hard. x__x

Her tails wagged happily at the thought of bread, almost as much as for the alchemist's sweet smile. Liliana had not anticipated missing something so mundane. There was always bread at home. But aside from a smile to Ed to show that such a thing would be nice, the winged female said nothing about it.

An odd smile as she watched the scattering butterflies, wondering if the butterfly winged Keyna's eggs were close to hatching. Or the f'ae eggs for that matter. She knew Remus would try to get a message to her for Ginny's eggs... but would they think to tell her of any of the others? She usually did not show much interest in the new arrivals, but now -being away for so long- Lily found she was interested. Especially in the young.

"Mothare? I don't think I've read anything about such a place." The well read kitsu frowned softly. For her not to have read it... that meant their library was lacking on books on the subject. That would have to be remedied when they returned home. "What kind of legends?"

As a witch, Lily knew that many legends sprang from something that was true. What legendary truths could this jungle, Mothare, hold?

An ear was tuned towards Lily and Setsumi's conversation in silent curiousity. Although Ronan had most of his attention with wanting to see his alchemy put to use. Oh yes.. there were many things Ed could create that Ronan didn't know about. A little smirk given to the colorful male at his attempts at politeness. Although it was Lily's look that prompted him into action more than anything. As sappy as it might sound, he'd do anything for her.

Ed proceeded to gather a pile of grass, getting more than he needed just so that it wouldn't end up in the dirt. Bread was made from grains, which came from grass. "Its really pretty simple" he told Ronan, despite that he knew the other kitsu didn't know the first thing about alchemy. Once he'd gathered enough, Ed clapped his paws together and initiated the transmutation. A spark of blue light later, and the grass was gone and replaced with a decent sized loaf of whole wheat bread.

However... little did the group know that among the grasses and fluttering insects, a pair of eyes was watching them.

Setsumi halted her steps, glancing over her shoulder with a blink. "I'm not too sure myself. Not many other kitsus have tread there to chat about it." And she hadn't stayed there long herself to learn each legend. Feathered tails curled, tickled by the soft landings of butterflies. A paw raised with a claw extended in some inkling of memory. "But I do recall scripts of text written on some stones, deep within Mothare." There was even the run down home, if it was still standing...

A wide grin split Ronan's face as he watched the transformation. "Now that's a light show." He poked curiously at the bread, as if expecting it to fall apart in green strands. Looked simple enough, whatever simple implied in alchemy. Black eartips darted up, and the male glanced over his shoulder lazily. His back felt tense, but than again...his senses had dulled after a long time of idle relaxing. Must've been the insects. He turned back to the fullmetal. "Even if it is 'magical', it provides survival." And in the case of survival, there was no cheating. The teen was just lucky to know such an ability.

Green eyes widened, an odd sort of excited delight within them. Ed would probably recognize it from when he had helped her discover there were sometimes better ways to make potions than what the books taught. "So .... you're saying there's likely not any books on this place, is that it Setsumi?" Lily's gaze went thoughtful. "I'd like to see the stones..."

She stopped to watch her mate's alchemy at work. It really was much more precise than transfiguration. More science than magic, though it still looked in many ways like magic. Her face warmed, wondering about the future and if alchemy was a skill born with like wizardry or healing or learned. Perhaps she would ask Edward later. Something to keep his mind occupied when his 'mother' chose at last to leave them.

"mmm. Smells wonderful, Edward. Fresh." A warm smile, tails wagging at the sight & smell of the bread. The winged female was more than oblivious to anything that might be following them. Sheltered. Still inexperienced. No reason to fear in the security of the others' company.

Ed grinned broadly at Ronan's approval, although it fell a bit as he called it magic. Heh. "Its not really magic, its a science where I come from." No offense to the magical abilities of Lily and her family. "I don't need alchemy to survive" he continued with a brief laugh, "When I was still learning alchemy, my teacher put my brother and I on a small island, alone. With nothing but a knife, for a month. We weren't allowed to use alchemy." Miraculously, they had learned to survive. He sweatdropped at the memory. It had been a hell on earth, really, and their teacher was never easy on them. Scary lady.

With a smile to Lilianna, Ed held out the bread to her. "It'll fit in your bag right?" Hell.. just about anything seemed to fit in there. He also had taken notice of Ronan's tense moment, which he seemed to repeat as he thought he heard something. Glancing around, Edward frowned before sideglancing at the colorful male, "Did you hear that?" he said lowly... seeming to think something or someone was out there.

That was something she hadn't considered. "There may be old books somewhere within Mothare. Who knows? It sounds worth checking out though." If words were on stone, perhaps they had continued on in parchment? She paused when Ronan glanced about, going quiet and waiting for confirmation of, well, anything. The grass was thin, and not too high to provide shelter for most dangers. Her feathers ruffled as she moved back next to the others and sat next to the red femme, head tilting. She didn't want to worry Lily, especially if it was nothing. Eyes glanced between Ed and Ronan quietly.

The older male stiffled a laugh about tough training. Sure those were serious, but they were so comical to look back on with success. As to the specifics, Ronan considered magic and science to be one in the same. At least to the degree of baffling the mind. He watched as the bread was placed away securely, before he raised a brow to the teen. "Eh, so it wasn't just me." Again, his head turned to the vast grassland around them. But his eyesight wasn't the best, at least when it came to details at certain distances.

"Definitely worth checking out..." The witch spoke softly, more to herself than anything, eyes bright with the prospect of an adventure that might lead to something she understood already.

Liliana flashed Edward a smile. "Of course it will. Daddy cast the Undetectable Extension Charm on it himself, back before we met. A few adjustments, so that things don't tumble about though. Easier to repeat the process than with Trelweny's bag of holding. I should really take the time to cast the spell on one of your pockets, Edward. It's ever so convenient. A bit tricky though...."

It was not potions, but it was close enough to keep Lily happy and relatively unaware. Though she did tilt her head curiously at the boys' exchange. She could not hear the words, but wondered at the lowered voices.

While Ronan didn't have good eyesight.. Edward did... and his gaze remained focused where he'd heard the noise. The teen was silent, still listening and again... his ears perked when he heard some rustling in a thick patch of grass and shrubs nearby. It didn't sound big... but big enough to be a thread or maybe something they could eat.

A glance was given to Lily. He wanted her to be safe, and thus the alchemist ventured forward, brows furrowed as he tried to pinpoint the location of the thing. With a leap, Ed dove into the shrubs and after some rustling there was a started shriek of surprise from the teen and then everything fell silent.

Setsumi just....blinked, trying to stay focused through Lily's explanation to the magic of her bag. She was almost tempted to reach her own paw in its depths. Her ears lowered as she glanced back to the two males, silently observing their little conversation. They only perked when Ed decided to venture forth and disappeared with a leap into the soft grass.

A smirk lifted the adult's lips as the teen had a display of courage, prowling for the source of the noise. He held his own ground, though he had to admit that excitement made him antsy and on his toes. It only increased at the sound of surprise, and his tails swished, as if waiting for permission to pounce. "You alive kid?"

Green eyes blinked as Edward seemed to go into hunt mode. "Edward?" Liliana asked, not really to get a response but to show her concern. She trusted him. He would be fine. He...

At Edward's startled shriek her wand was in her paw. "Edward!!"

There was some muffled sounds and some rustling noises... then eventually a giggle, that certainly was not from Edward. However, the teen's head eventually appeared above the foliage, face covered in dirt and scowling... while a tiny and brightly colored blue kitsu sat on his head.

"I got you!" the little winged imp crowed triumphantly as he sat Ed's head and peered down into his face upside-down. Scaled tails wagged happily before he jumped off and flitted through the air to hover around the other three Kitsusagi and peer at them curiously.

Edward just huffed indignantly and proceeded to brush himself off.
