Rhapsody stood at the waters edge and watched the waves lap at his golden yellow hooves. It had been a while since he had been to the beach. The last time he was actually here he was a foal and it had been in the middle of the night. Plus the filly he had met had been rather rude to him.

An orange mare trotted happily down the beach. She had come here once, not so long ago. She had met another orange Soquili, just like herself, but their meeting had ended quite abruptly, and she had wandered on to the forests. Today, she had decided that she wanted to come back to the beach, and explore it some more. She had enjoyed it so much the first time, and she was secretly hoping to meet someone to talk to again.
A warm breeze played with her mane, rustling her two yellow feathers. Looking up from where she was trotting, she was met with a most peculiar sight. A soquili, not too far away, was standing in the waterside. And it was pink. She had seen soquilis in a few shades before, but she had never in her life seen a pink soquili.
Deciding that this must be a soquili worth taking to, simply based on the color, she sped up, and made her presence know by a loud "Hey there!"

The pink stallion was startled out of his reverie at the sound of a voice behind him and approaching hooves. Turning he was faced with an organe and black mare making her way towards him. He watched her curiously as she came right over to him. It was obviouse that she didn't know he was a stallion. Mares normally didn't just trot right over to stallions, unless they were really friendly, or Taylor. It was then he noticed she had something sticking out of the top of her head as well. Like a sharp pointy object at that. "Umm, hello?" he asked questioningly.

Sensing that the other soquili wasn't as friendly as she was used to, she slowed down a bit, and looked around a bit self conscious for once "Sorry, I err... couldn't miss seeing you, and I really wanted to talk to someone, so I couldn't help but say something" she half rambled, throwing the soquili a slightly embarrassed smile.
And that was where she saw that the soquili was a male. "You're a guy..." she said in surprise "...and you're pink" she added, before catching herself "I mean, not that I wouldn't be talking to you if I had know you were a male... and uh... nothings wrong with being pink, I just sorta assumed... er... my bad?" she tried to save it.

Rhapsody looked at her strangely. She kinda reminded him of Taylor but only she was consious of what she saod and what was going on with others around her. He raised and eyebrow and then shook his head.
"Don't worry about it. No harm done." he said and rather suprised at how he was starting to feel better about himself. Atleast it was an interesting way to get others to talk to him. "I get that alot, your not the first nor the last to mistake me for my color." he said and gave her a crooked grin.

She laughed heartily "Well, personally, I think it is a brilliant color." she stated "You simply caught me by surprise for a moment there, seeing as I spotted you from so far away" she smiled "anyways, now that that little mishap is out of the way, I'm Nalini, but feel free to call me Lini" she offered "It's very nice to meet you" Lini said, returning the grin.

"Thanks, you are a brilliant color yourself." he replied with a chuckle. Now where did that come from? Oh well, he was in a good mood maybe it was the ocean. "My name is rhapsody. It is nice to meet you Lini. Do you come here often?" he asked and glanced again at her forehead. It really was a stramnge thing but he would not stare. That wasn't polite.

"Well, being the brilliant color I am" she replied cheekily "this is one of the few places where I just blend in slightly" she supplied "so yes, I try to come here often" she nodded to herself "and I do love the warmth that tends to follow with the beaches" she giggled.
She couldn't help but notice that he kept glancing at her face. Was there something smudged there? Perhaps some dirt from the gallop she had had earlier that day. "Erm... Is there something on my face or something?" she asked, making a cross-eyed grimace, trying to spot if there was anything on her nose.

"Huh? Oh no! It's just...what's that thing coming out of your forehead?" he asked rather boldly. She had caught him staring so it was only right that he ask her exactly what was that thing.

"My... forehead?" She asked rather lamely. Had something weird started bulging out on the top of her head or something? Casting a quick glance in the water, why she hadn't thought of this before she didn't know, but saw nothing, save for her horn of course.
Of course. Her horn. She looked at him in surprise "You mean... my horn? You've never seen a soquili with a horn before?" she questioned.

He nodded to her. "Yes that and no I has never met anyone with a...horn before. Does it hurt?" he asked. His curiosity was getting the better of him but he just couldn't help it. Taylor was really rubbing off in him and that wasn't a good thing.

She laughed loudly "Hurt? Oh yes, quite a bit. The person I attack with it, of course" she joked, before sobering up a bit "But in all seriousness, no, not now. It used to when I was younger, and it was just breaking through... I suppose its sorta like a tooth?"

He couldn't help to keep the astonishment off his face when she mentioned about attacking someone. Had she really admitted that? He really did hope it was a joke.
"I see. Is it very heavy? And don't you get a head ache from it or something?" he asked and hoped he wasn't being too nosey. He really did need to get out more and he was always saying that maybe he should actually do it sometime. "I am sorry if I am asking so many questions. I don't get out and about very much...atleast not around others. I tend to shy away."

Not noticing the look that flitted across the stallion's face, she continued to answer his question with an amused patience "Well, I suppose it's a little heavy, but I'm used to it, so its not really something I notice, yknow? Its as if asking you if it isn't weird having a long mane" she smiled "And no worries about the questions... I'm awfully bold when it comes to those things too" she laughed at herself "I'm afraid its one of my main-traits, really"
