Well, to make a long story short, it was a very fine day. Arodacahan or rather Arod as those who knew him preferred to call him; was just about as restless as any stallion could be; and Elawi (his crush) was nowhere in sight.
And as any hot blooded stallion was wont to do, Arod began to irritate his fellow herd members; starting with the grave paint stallion Thelerian; which of course led to the current state Arod was in. Bored and alone for the time being.
Pawing the ground in frustration, the palomino wind soquili made his way towards the lake where he hoped he would find something to vent his restlessness on.

Shiori was having a stroll near the lake. She tanned in the beautiful weather, and let the sun stroke her coat as it sparkled in the glory of the sky. The heat on her face felt so beautiful she could let herself stay there the entire day. Slowly she bent down her neck and had a sip from the lake. The water tasted so nice. She wasn't aware that a stallion was only across the other side of the lake. He was a wind soquili too. Shiori loved wind soquili, and made her wish she had wings of her own to fly away.

Upon reaching the lake, Arod took a quick look around to see if there was anyone there and spotted Shiori. Not thinking too much of it, Arod flared his wings and flew over. Perhaps this time he would be able to aleviate his boredom more effextively.

Shiori noticed the reflection of a wind stallion in the water. Ooh! Fun! she thought to herself. Watching him land over beside her, she wondered what he was like. The other wind stallion he had met the other day was rude, and she hoped not all wind soquili were like that.
"Hello," Shiori said, smiling. "My name is Shiori, you are?" she winked at him.

"Arodacahan, Arod for short," Arod replied landing on the bank of the lake and folding his wings neatly."Pleased to meet you miss Sawaki,"
Here the stallion paused to give the mare a once over and smiled. Arod liked this place; all of its inhabitants were definitely a few notches above many places in terms of friendliness. Here, Arod had actually felt at home for once; even more so after meeting Elawi and his current 'herd'.

Well, he seems a lot kinder than Samus, the rude wind soquili I met the other day.. I guess it wouldn't do any harm to make friends with him. she thought.
"Hello Arod." she said. "Those are pretty fine wings you have!" she boldly stated. "Can I.. touch'em?" she asked, giving him a warm smile. His wings look so feathery, I wonder if they're soft..

A slight frown creased Arod's face as he eyed the mare. They could say what they liked, Arod did not fancy these black coloured wings of his. They were after all, inherited from someone who took liberties of his dam on some rainy night. That in turn got him kicked out of his so called 'pure' palomino herd.
Nostril flaring slightly Arod was just about to take off when it occured to him that this mare probably meant no harm. He was, afterall, far away from where he started. Folding his wings again Arod nodded at the mare and said grudgingly. "Sure, if you really want to,"

Thank you.." Shiori whispered, nodding. She softly nuzzled his wings. They were so soft and feathery, it made her want to fall asleep in them. Quickly retreating, she said "I hope I didn't bother you." she said, slightly blushing. An idea popped into her mind.
"Would you like to go for a walk with me?" she enthusiastically asked, hoping Arod would say yes.

The nuzzling tickled Arod slightly and he shifted his wings and turned to face the mare. Fortunately or unfortunately, Arod did not notice the blush.
"Would you like to take a walk with me?" the mare had asked and as Arod has nothing better to do, he nodded. " Sure, why not? It's a nice day today"
Saying so, the stallion fell in step with the mare.

Shiori was glad he had accepted to take a walk with her. She was kind of bored, and wouldn't mind making another friend.
"Do you have any friends?" she asked. She hadn't seen anyone around him this morning, so maybe he traveled alone, or so she thought.
Shiori watched the sun rising higher into the sky and light the land with its golden light. Maybe I should join a herd some day... She thought.

"Yes, I do," Arod replied casting a glance at the spotted mare. "But they are currently preoccupied with some form of activity or another. I wouldn't count on seeing them around these parts anytime soon,"
"But how about you miss Shiori; do you have any friends?"

A smile crept into Shiori's lips as she thought of what to say. She did have many friends, but maybe listing them all would bore Arod. She decided to try to make friends with him, seeing as he seemed like a really nice person.
"Yes, I have tons of people I've met, many of them I can call friends, but only one really good friend." she answered. She was very curious in Arod, so she asked him "Tell me about yourself, I'd like to know more about you."

"Well...," Arod muttered softly as his mind statrted sorting out what could be said and what...could not. Finally Arod faced the mare.
"There's nothing much to tell really. Grew up in a rather custom oriented family, got bored and wandered here on my own quite some time ago," Arod said adjusting his wings slightly. "Nothing overly exciting y'know. Found some friends. Liked this place; was miss Shiori born here? If you don't mind me asking that is," Arod asked directing the flow of conversation once again to the mare.

Arod had an ordinary life, which facsinated Shiori.
"I live not too far from here, I was born around here, then moved to seaside. But I prefer to hang around everywhere to meet others." she explained.
She wished she could be as free as him, able to go anywhere she wanted. Wait, that was silly.. Who was holding her back? Maybe she could join up with a few people and travel with them.. Like a herd. That was when it struck her that she was very lonely.
"Are you part of a herd?" she asked.
