Tufah was bored. Mind numbingly bored. The kind of bored where you feel like you should beat you head against a rock in the hope that you might knock yourself out - just so you don't have to deal with the boredom any longer. Get it? BORED BORED BORED!

She stalked through the grasslands, occasionally staring up at Priderock. She couldn't find Noyana, her siblings were all off doing their own thing, and her mother and father were 'away'. Hunting or something. And Tufah couldn't be bothered practising or treading the now famular paths of Priderock alone. Somehow the pacing helped, though she didn't understand why. Wandering in circles should have been even more boring but at least it expressed some of her frustration.

Argh!

Mafuriko had also been bored when he found himself without siblings, parents or even his nephew around to badger into playing some games or entertaining him in some way. After a successful trip to the Elephant Graveyard, he no longer had any good ideas of places he wasn't supposed to go that he could try to go to. No, there wasn't much fun to be had today, it seemed.

Deciding to practice his hunting, and perhaps even catch something, Riko dared to sneak up on a couple of hares. It hadn't taken long to scare them off, but he chased after them as quickly as he could. Even after he lost them, he wouldn't admit it until there was no way he could be following them- he couldn't see that far ahead of him in some of the tall grasses. There was still a chance!

Without even realizing it, he was headed towards the pacing, bored lioness. He wouldn't see her right away, either.

After being bumped into a bowled over two or three times now - by morons - Tufah was getting good at recognising the rustle she made in the grass. This meant she could notice the extra rustle of someone nearby and avoid it happening again. There was nothing she hated worse and one of these ays she felt like she'd just bite the person straight off for it. So it was pretty lucky for Mufuriko when her ears swiveled in his direction, because he might have bumped into her...

"Hello?" She made a move to find whoever it was in a way that didn't involve getting run into. Who knows, this could be entertaining.

Riko was not paying attention to what was ahead of him in the grass, but he was paying better attention to any sounds he heard- and someone calling out a greeting was certainly something to get one's attention. Fortunately for him, when he made his very best effort to stop in time he did not trip over his feet or tumble to stop but simply stumbled. And just shy of where Tufah had stood. Startled to find another lion there instead of the hares he'd gone chasing, he looked at Tufah with wide blue eyes- then he scowled.

"What?" he asked, reacting poorly to his disappointment over losing the hares for sure now.

"What yourself" She shrugged.

"You almost bumped into me and I couldn't quite tell where you were..." She had the sudden thought to try flattery. Remember, remember, Tufah, you're trying to gaina reputation here. A good one. No matter how much you want to snap, be civil. Be 'nice'. Be charming.

"...you must be a good hunter, to vanish so."

Riko stared at Tufah, and of course- his immediate reaction was to argue. And he got an opportunity to do so when the lioness stopped to remind herself to be nice. "Then you shouldn't have gotten in my way," he answered, more than willing to hand over complete blame to her- though anyone could tell that it was his fault he wasn't paying attention, "And now I lost those hares."

He looked a bit surprised by her sudden complimenting him, but somewhere in their his ego made him ignore it and he puffed up. It was hard to argue with that logic, especially when one was a cub.

"I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding some more, no trouble at all." She shrugged, apologetic. Though really, what a brat of a cub. Tufah let her tail swish behind her, unseen, in a violent lash of irritation. Otherwise she kept neutral, with a little smile.

"Sorry to have disturbed your hunt, ...?" Her tone implied she as asking for his name.

Riko doubted it, but wouldn't say so. He didn't really buy her tone, though he didn't imagine it was more irritated than she let on- simply that she wasn't really all that sorry or anything. It was rather annoying- but mostly because Riko couldn't be sure, he wasn't a mind reader or anything. Unfortunately for him, though, he was no where near as talented at hiding how he felt.

"Riko," he introduced himself, "Who're you?"

"Tufah - one of the nannies daughters." Tiah, in fact, who should have been head huntress...nanny was such a slight. Hell, she should have been a princess, a true queen-cat. Tufah was proud of her bloodline and her mother was an idol to her. It made her smile grow to mention her.

"And you?"

Riko was a bit surprised to hear this information, that Tufah's mother was one of the nannies. Did that mean that their mothers might know each other? Truly that would be his only incentive for behaving himself, though he hardly seemed to irritate his mother.

"My mother is one of the nannies as well," he said carefully, noticably dropping a bit of the attitude.
