Recess was like PE without the coach telling them what to do, Antony decided as he looked around the playground. He looked down at his pristine silk shirt and pants, his gold cuffs and belt, his shining black boots.
He already hated it.

Devakanya stepped out onto the playground, chewing her lip and wishing like hell her father had let her bring Blackie with her. At least she'd have some company, even if everyone did think she was weird for bring stuffed horse. The unicorn sighed, glancing around at the other kids playing on various pieces of play equipment. No one had even asked her to play. Just because she was quiet didn't mean she didn't like playing...
Biting her lip harder, she glanced down and started to move a pebble around with her foot. Oh well. Recess wasn't too long, right?

The sight of a horn caught his eyes. Hadn't he seen that one before? He frowned thoughtfully as he went through his memories. Oh! Right! She was the little one his father had been holding before gym!
She looked like a princess. With that thought firmly in his mind he walked towards her, smiling slightly as he bowed in front of her. "Hello," he said, grinning up at her cheerfully. "My name is Antony."

Devakanya blinked, looking around for someone standing behind her or even in her general area. He was talking to her? She pointed to herself just to make sure she got it straight, no use embarrassing herself over something silly like that.
Once she was sure that yes, it was her, she returned the bow in the form of a curtsy. (She'd practiced for hours in the mirror as soon as Zack started letting her wearing dresses.) She then gave him a little nod, her only form of greeting.
...oh, dear. How was she supposed to introduce herself?

She seemed the quiet type, he thought. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing. "Do you like recess?" he asked. He hated it, himself, but if she liked it he could always lie!

Oh, good. He didn't seem to mind she wasn't talking. Or maybe he hadn't noticed yet. Either was okay. Releasing her lip a little, she shook her head in response the to question. She didn't like it at all. She didn't know any of the games anyone was playing -except tag, she didn't like tag- and no one even wanted her to play anyways. She nodded towards him, trying to show him she wondered the same question.

"Not particularly," he admitted. "Would you like to swing with me?" As long as he was careful he could keep from scuffing his boots, he decided.

Devakanya offered Anthony a shy smile, nodding as she took a step forward. It would be very good to have someone to spend recess with someone. She took another step towards the swings, turning to look at Anthony as she went. He was coming, wasn't he?

He followed her with a little smile, motioning for her to sit down. "Here, I can push you," he offered politely, careful to walk without scuffing his shoes in the wood shavings.

She watched him curiously, pausing before finally settling in the swing, crossing her ankles like any girl in a dress should. She held onto the chains and glanced back at him again, giving a very small nod. Her heart pounded. He wasn't going to push hard, was he? She didn't want to go too high...or fast. She wasn't the bravest of the unicorns.

He reached down, grabbing the chains and pulling her back slightly before pushing her gently forward. It was only polite to make it a small swing, after all.
That and a large swing would require him to move more, which could scuff his shoes. They were new shoes, after all! "Are you taking PE?" he asked.

She bit her lip, bracing herself for the worst as Anthony pulled her back and let her go. She did not, however, fly forward into the sky. Instead, she swung gently forward, and gently back. A smile cracked her worry-stricken face. This wasn't half bad, swinging!
...PE? Devakanya made a face, clearly one of displeasure. She didn't want to, but Zack didn't give her a choice. Said everyone needed exercise, even princesses. Apparently, he never heard of the ball incident.

He saw a little of her look, but that didn't answer his question. "I'm afraid that my father's the coach," he admitted as he pushed her again, gently. "We don't have much in common, but I suppose being physically fit is good for you."

She nodded, more or less agreeing with the end of the statement. She didn't really know the PE teacher well, and she just met Anthony, so she couldn't really make a comparison. She, however, did know it was quite possible. She and Zack were not anything alike. He was...he was...not very graceful, and didn't seem to be terribly good at anything besides being...lazy. But she liked him.
Devakanya glanced back at Anthony, rocking the swing a little.

He smiled back at her. "Do you not talk?" he asked straight out. But he didn't make it sound like a bad thing. "There's a fairy tale about a princess that couldn't talk for seven years, while she made shirts for her brothers, you know."
