Has anyone heardof this game? It's planned to be released for the PSP and it's going to be a fighting gamne with all major characters and baddies. Thus, you can stage your own Cloud and Sephiroth fight. I have no information on a release date. A review of Dissidia is available in June's issue of Game Informer.

I heard it! Isn't it great?! Something similar to that was released years ago, I think, with just the FFVII characters. It was named Ehrzeit/Ehrgeths or something like that. Can't really remember... sweatdrop But it was for PS1, that much I'm sure of!

Ehrgeiz was a fighting game that featured some of the Final Fantasy VII characters. They appeared as cameos so it isn't an actual Final Fantasy VII fighting game.
In my opinion, I think Dissidia is a strange game, but until more information is released, I have no opinion really.

Oddly enough 2 months ago Electronic gaming monthly had a spread on all the Final Fantasy games they'd be making. Quick synopsis, a picture, and what platform it was one. I'll be damned if I can remember which one Dissia was one. My best guess is PSP. A simple fighting game is better for entertaining those with mobile devices.

I've seen it on several gaming websites. I think it looks awesome! I hope they have some cool characters in it tho (glad to see they put Kuja and Zidane in it whee )

I think it's a great idea. My only worry is that they are going to completely ruin it by making it based solely on the physical fighting. Will there be summons and different weapons to choose. It would be good if they also had multiple locations from the games.

yer it looks like a good game, problem is...you can only see one ff7 character in the trailer, but its seph biggrin

Yeah, I heard about it. I also heard that no one really expected it to be that good of a game because they thought SE was just trying to exploit the popularity of the series. Although, there was a report on IGN that this guy tried it out at Jump Fiesta 2008 and was blown away. You can read more about that here in the artist's description.

Theres also a web site in French that i like to go on...i have to use babel fish to really understand it, but it has screen shots and a trailer.

The game is set to be released in time for Chirstmas in Japan and there are no plans for release in America or Europe.
Personally, it won't matter to me. I just get it imported with a translation FAQ.
And I know there is some sort of story that connects all of the characters. All I know about the story is that it has something to do with crystals and maybe the space-time bullcrap in FF8 or something along those lines.
