Calantha drifted slowly over the land, flying towards the beach. She had only been away from her mother a few days, and was already looking for company. She was still quite young, barely an adult, and did not have much endurance for long flights. So she soon had to land in a small field near the ocean.
It was a warm summer morning, quite humid as fog still clung to the land, causing the ground to have a golden glow in the early morning sun. Slowly she began to trot towards a near by stream, before heading towards the ocean, her tired wings hanging loose at her sides.

Shiori had fallen asleep while lying in her favourite grassfield when she heard something land not far from her. Abruptly, she stood up and saw a mare, with wings! This was the second wind soquili she had seen, and she seemed to find they were really cold, maybe this mare was different. She walked up to her and said,
"Hello there, I'm Shiori." she waited for the mare's response.

"Hello, I am Calantha." She said quite happily. She was usually far from being cold, quite a happy young mare most of the time. With a quick ruffle of her wings, she brought them back up against her sides, instead of hanging down.

"Hello Calantha!" Shiori excitedly answered the mare. She seemed rather nice, so I guess it wouldn't hurt to talk to her. Besides, waking up in a fright surely drained all her sleepyness. Even if she wanted to go back to sleep, she wouldn't be able to. Shiori let out a large yawn and decided to learn more about Calantha.
"I haven't see you around here, are you new to this region? Or do you live somewhere else?" she asked, approaching Calantha.

"I visited here when I was younger, I wanted to see it again. I never really lived in one place, but I spend most of my time in the forest." She said as she stretched out her neck, and then her legs, since they were stiff from flying for so long. "Do you live here?" She asked.

Shiori nodded. "I live not too far from here, at the side of the beach." she explained. As she listened intently to the mare, one small thing puzzled her slightly.
"So, do you not particularly live anywhere?" she asked. That sounded like lots of fun, just being able to go out on your own, free from being attached to a certain place. Maybe she would try it to.

"No where really. Growing up I spent all of my foalhood, traveling with my mother. And now I travel alone." She said as she stared at Shiori. "Is it nice living near the beach?" She asked.

"Mm-hmm." Shiori replied. She wasn't n much of an excited mood today. "It's nice to feel the wind and the smell of salt from the ocean." she continued. "Would you like to come with me and see it?"

"Yes. I don't remember all of it, it has been a while since I have been here." She said as a cool morning breeze passed by. "Alright, I suppose you know where the most interesting things are." She added.

Shiori fell in step with the mare and decided she'd show her to seaside first. She was wondering whether she should open up more to Calantha or not, seeing as she's already met tons of new people and didn't want to huddle her memory and mix people up. She gave a slight yawn. It would be best to let time work on its own.

Calantha set off at a quick trot, quite eager to see the ocean again. She watched the mare beside her, unsure what to say next. After several minutes trotting in silence. "Have you always lived here?" She asked.

Shiori looked up at the mare. "Well," she said. "I was born in the plains, spent almost my entire infant life in grasslands, then moved to the seaside. Then shortly after I grew into a young adult, and hae been living there ever since." she continued, trying to recount her past. "I often come back and visit these areas, when I have nothing to do in particular, just for some old memories." she smiled at Calantha, sniffing the air. She could already smell the salt, which meant they were coming closer.

"I have never stayed in one place for more than a few weeks. So I have already seen quite a bit. But sometime I'd like to stay somewhere for a while, just to get to know the area better." She said, after she lifted her nose to smell the salty air.

"Ahh, I see." she responded. One day, she decided she would go with Verloren somewhere far from here, a place to birth her children. But, they still had to get to that part! The peak of the sand was just visible not far away. Thinking of Verloren, this reminded her that they were to meet at noon. She glanced up into the sky. The sun was creeping its way high into the sky, she didn't have much time before she had to leave to meet him.
