Determined as she was she knew even the obstacle of having wings wasn't going to keep Guilian from her forever. He might have had the advantage but she knew she'd find him eventually and then she could put this whole boredom mess behind her.
She needed someone to talk to just for the sake of talking. Nuka's family, or parts of it, weren't all that welcoming and she figured that she'd just stay away for the most part. She could find her own friends and things to do and check up on him once in a while.
So with that in mine she'd set out to find out where the red winged stallion had fluttered off to this time.

 Being a transient by nature, Guilian invariably made things harder for those who might be trying to find him by moving around a lot. One day he'd be at the edge of the lake, the next he'd be meandering along the coast and the day after, he'd be far north near the mountains. One had to go where whim spoke, after all...
But these days, he was being a good, stable stallion and sticking to one generalized region. Why?
Why indeed...
A decent amount of time had passed since Luca had given him the news that she was expecting. However, time didn't kill the excitement, and he relished watching her stomach grow rounder with each passing day.
He ALSO relished Luca's sense; unlike Izusa, Luca knew better than to expect the impossible. Consequently, on this glorious summer day, Guilian was off, by himself, having a good, cleansing swim in the river. And after that, well...he had until MUCH later to do whatever he wished.

She was starting to dislike the dust that had gotten itself into her coat so she'd trotted down to a spring and gotten herself as clean as she could. This meant that as she strolled her way down the banks of the river the stream fed that she was still slightly damp.
Her mane thankfully wasn't a problem but her tail would be wet for hours upon hours at this rate. Huffing slightly she tried to keep it out of the dirt and eventually decided the only way of that was to walk in the water until she found enough grass to bother walking in.
She'd been about to turn her attention to a patch of fruit trees when she hear splashing. Someone else was around here and she wasn't about to chance it possibly being Guilin without checking.
Her prey wasn't hard to notice, large red thing splashing around it was, and she grinned as she trotted down the bank. "Funny... i didn't think this river was a bird bath."

"Never assume anything, Nanaala-Chica, for to assume only makes you look foolish!"
Some stallions might be taken aback to be caught bathing; others might be surprised to be caugt bathing by a mare they hadn't seen in some time. And then there was Guilian, who likely couldn't be taken aback by ANYTHING, and responded to Nanala's tease with as much ease as if they'd last seen each other minutes ago. "I'll have you know that this river is an excellant birdbath; it gets all the feathers nicely cleaned. Mind the roses, though, they're fresh."
This last bit was in reference to the small heap of dark roses that sat on teh bank not too far from where Nanala was; after he dired out a bit, he'd twist them all into his mane and tail but ONLY if they weren't far downstream!

She noticed the roses and leaned down to sniff at them. "I'd almost be tempted to ask where you found them but then i'd have to steal them from you." She carefully stepped away from them so that she didn't knock them into the water.
"Busily working on making yourself presentable to any and all hum?" She flicked her tail lazily behind her in hops that moving air would dry it faster than just letting it hang there.
Guilian looked slightly ridiculous all sopping wet but at least it didn't make him miss a beat. That was delightful after all this time with no one to talk to but herself.

"Ah, but if I told you where I found them you might go and abscond with them all, thus leaving me none to replace these when they wilt."
In a way, Nanala's arrival served as a cue; a cue that Guilian had been swimming about long enough. Consequently, the stallion pulled himself out of the water a short bit away, then shook himself violently before turning to grin at his old friend. "Well, I figured that it was about time I got rid of the old dust; it was starting to overpower my natural musk, and that's just unpleasant."
Shaking his head again, Guilian's wet mane fell into gentle waves, hinting at the curls that would form as it dried. Likewise, his short tail was taking on the appearance of ringlets, later to spread out. But he had no qualms about his appearance; even damp, he knew he looked marvelous.
Though Nanala did as well, he had to admit. "You're looking well these days, Nanala. Life in the territory of the brother agreeing with you?"

"And i would abscond with them too. They are rather pretty." She didn't think they'd go all too well with her coat but they were nice to look at and for all their dark color had a sweet smell.
She did have to admit that Guilian did look far more handsome wet than most birds. At least once out of the water he didn't look so much like he'd drowned and just looked as if he'd been caught in a light storm.
At the mention of her brother's home she frowned slightly. "Not as well as i'd hoped. It seems his mate can deal with his snark but mine is just a little too much for her. Thought it wiser to find other company."

"Well, you can take one if you like; they're rather tasty as well as attractice and aromatic. " Besides, he wasn't going to be needing them for a while; not until he was nice and dry, otherwise they wouldn't so much set as HANG, and that was hardly what he'd call attractive. And when it came to himself, well...he knew attractive.
Though that didn't mean it was all he could think about, as the slight frown at Nanala's announcement indicated. Or at least, that's what it indicated before he started to laugh. "Your snark, eh Chica? And here I thought it was just you being charming."
Snark, indeed. Still, having too many mares around, especially related ones, had a lot of potential to complicate an otherwise pleasureable situation; vice-versa, being a mare and stuck with only one's brother and his family for company could likewise get...dull. "So, that is to what I owe the pleasure of your company; hopefully things are working out for you, being out on your own."

"Smart girl like me, I'm sure i'll be perfectly fine on my own" She'd wandered all the way from her family's home to here so why not more wandering? It was fun after all. She got to see new faces and do different things and didn't have to deal with 'family' when she didn't want to.
"You find it charming. Nuka's mate finds it ..." She paused to think about that. She wasn't sure what Atsila thought about her but whatever it was probably wasn't' pleasant. "Actually i don't know what she finds it but i'm sure she's got nothing nice to say to me."
Shaking her head she laughed before trotting over to nudge her friend. "So how have you been since we last spoke?"

"Well, that goes without saying, Chica; and you've already proved that you can manage well enough on your own in simply getting here." Grinning, Guilian returned the nudge in greeting, lipping lightly at Nanala's short spiky mane as he did so. He did so like the texture of short manes; there weren't enough mares around that kept their hair short to satisfy his curiousity on that affair...
Regardless, she'd asked a question. "Oh, I've been excellant, actually. Keeping busy, staying strong, keeping up with my pursuits..." This with an amused twinkle that he knew she'd understand as he queried, "And you, aside of feuding with the inlaws?"

Grinning at him she rested her head on his shoulder with a dramatic sigh. "Oh it's been dreadfully borring Guilian. Nery a soul to talk to and my sister in law seems to despise me. What ever shall i do?" She had no idea how she managed to say all that with a straight face. Even now she was trying not to start laughing at her own antics.
Hopefully he'd laugh too, or play along, otherwise she'd have to kick him for ruining her fun.

Had Guilian actually thought Nanala was being serious, he MIGHT have considered treating her seriously. Might. But he could tell hamming it up a mile away, and consequently acted accordingly.
"Bored AND despised is a terrible, terribel course of events, Nanala. Honestly, I don't think that there IS anything you can do; it might be best to just find a hole somewhere and hide until either you or your sister in law has died."
And he managed to keep a serious face as well, surprise of all!

"Oh but where am i going to find such a hole? And i'm sure that i'll be the first to perish and that would only make her happier..." She let her head hang across his shoulders. This was horrible but she hadn't laughed yet.
"Perhaps i should just contend defeat to her and give up all prospects of ever talking to my brother again wander back home and be a good little daughter like they always wanted."
Like she would ever crawl back home to do that. It was far too much fun running around doing as she pleased.

"You could always dig one; a self-reliant mare like you must surely know how to dig. Though if you just went home you wouldn't have to worry about it, I agree...but then, what's life without a little excitement?"
As he spoke, Guilian was running his lead feathers up along Nanala's sides, moving up to her neck and gently stroking along the edge of her mane. "I, personally, am much too fond of excitement...and it's a good season for excitement, I'd say!" Laughing, he gave Nanala a roguish wink, daring her to ask him what the excitement was.
