I know a lot of people would like to talk about the new HP book and post spoilers. I will break the rules once for you and let you do that in THIS THREAD ONLY. Have fun.

I personally haven't started reading it yet cause I don't know what's happened in the series so I've started to reread it from book 5. When I do get a chance to read it and finish it. I'll be in here. Looking forward to reading it though biggrin .

Read it the day it came out.
I have to admit, I found the final fight scene between Voldemort and Harry a bit of a let-down. It was about a minute of talking and a single spell from each side - what kind of final duel is that?
When I see a final fight, I want edge-of-the-seat action and something to truly remember. The last fight was rather anti-climactic for me.

I thought the book was pretty good. Except for the fact that she killed so many people.

True. Too many people were killed off. One or too just makes it suspenceful, over that many just makes it annoying. But I still liked the book, I was just annoyed that she killed off so many characters.

Souls in the winds must learn how to bend
Blood bath=lame.
Honestly, she killed Hedwig and Dobby....what the hell?!
And killing the comic relief is almost never a good idea.
I dunno...I didn't really like this one. Thought it was kinda weak actually. And weird too. A lot of the characters seemed a little off to me. Especially Lupin...
Best things about the book in my opinion were Neville...Neville was pure awesome in this book.
And Mrs. Weasley dueling Belletrix was really neat....though the swearing made me giggle a bit...
Anyways, I'm really too tired to explain why I think these things about the book...maybe I'll come back and explain more another time.

Wow, this book was rather interesting... So many things were happening, but that was expected considering it was the last book and everything had to be wound up and finished. I found it rather sad about Snape, and how everyone believed that he was bad all along.. It was a pretty good act though. I could never have believed that he didn't want to kill Dumbledore, and that the latter had ASKED him to kill him. Poor Snape he was so misunderstood... I have a question though this is probably really obvious to everyone else, but was that one of the characters lying on the ground at 'Kings Cross' when Harry was speaking with Dumbledore? Could it have been Voldemort? Or was it just something really random.. Excuse my ignorance..
Over all the book was quite good, it finished up everything quite nicely, though the killing of so many characters was a bit much (poor tonks and lupin)... 3nodding

I liked it! I mean, I think I might have had my expectations a little too high for it, now thinking about it, but the book most certainly didn't bomb. Yeah, the final battle between Voldermort and Harry was a little weak, but it wasn't horrible. It annoyed me that she killed off so many characters! Dobby, I mean, I hated most that she killed off Lupin, BUT WHY DOBBY? I agree, killing the comic relief is not a good idea!

The last fight was rather anti-climactic for me. I can't imagine the fight having come out differntly. I feel that is exactly how it was suppose to happen. Harry was not nearly as good as voldemort if it had been a real duel harry would lose. but harry had an ace, because voldemort was trying to kill harry with his own wand. I think it was perfectly done.

I had a feeling snape was good for the but i couldnt figure out how. I actually thought at one point maybe dumbledore had asked him to but i demissed the idea becuase it made no sense. Now i see i was rigth and he was good though i was still shocked by it.
