Name: Mark Lawson. Nicknames: Mark. Estimated Age: 21. D.o.B: --- Sex: Male. Species: 'Fighting Bull'. Occupation: Museum Tour-Guide. Residence: Durem.
Hair Color: Pale Brown. Eye Color: --- Height: 6'3". Weight: --- Distinguishing Marks: --- General Attire: Music Junkie. 'Image' Song: ---
Notations:
Mark wears headphones at all times. His ears are sensitive in general and tend to ache without the vibration of 'relaxing' sound waves. He consistently listens to slow acoustic and classical music through his headphones, but it does not affect his hearing. Think of it as background music in a movie. It's quiet, conversations and surrounding noises taking the priority.
History:
Born into an orderly society, Mark is anything but a casual individual. His existents within the realm of reality was essentially provoked by greed, desperation, and imagination. Simply, Mark was not always Mark. He had not possessed a name prior to what a small number of individuals know to call 'the crossing over'. He is from an alternative plain of reality known as 'The Shadow', where things are, ultimately, surrounded by a natural order and action. Its society borders on the entry of new individuals spontaneously, and on the destruction of said individuals be it within the cycle of life. In other words, people are born into various species. Those species have a tendency to feed off of one another, therefore it is the embodiment of wilderness-esque life without intellect or general understanding, although communications and though obviously exist. Within this order, the highest of individuals are known as Mask-Makers, and they are horrid swindlers who will do anything to coax their prey into surrendering their face to be made into a mask before devouring their 'existence'.
After having survived in the world on his own for several years, Mark became an ambitious, desperate child. He wanted to escape the shadows and enter a world in which he had nothing to truly fear. The most important thing to be understood is the play of Mark's greed. He encountered one of the Mask-Makers on an afternoon, and she had sought to make a bargain with him. Eagerly, she told him a story of a world out of the reach of 'his kind'. She told him it was a wondrous place, full of light, full of life, security, and love. However, Mark had not understood her entirely. He had become skeptical over the attempted description of affection and light, eventually running away. But he had been incapable of escaping her words. She had captivated him. His heart had pounded nightly as dreams haunted his sleep. In desperation, he had sought out the Mask-Maker and had requested a bargain. 'I'll do anything...', He had said to her - and the Mask-Maker had, in a bemused manner, left him to craft a mask that would grant his wish.
... Of course, she had never had the intention of giving it to him, as Mark would later discover. She attempted to rob him of his face and life after teasing him with the mask to achieve an expression and emotion she desired. Yet, she had failed. Mark's desire, his imagination, and his greed to have what he wanted pushed him away from the Mask-Maker. He stole her mask and disappeared from the realm of the shadow, landing in the plain of reality which is known as reality.
Naturally, the Mask-Maker would not allow the misdeed to go unpunished or acted on. She grew angry, and began harboring her anger. A swear had been made: She would have her revenge and her meal. In the mean time, she was left to attempt and find her escaped quarry.
