Is there a character you hate?

Something of a counter-point to this thread, who is your LEAST favourite character?

Mine has to be Hagbard Celine from The Illuminatus! Trilogy. He spends the entire series going, "I know something you don't know! I know something you don't know! Neener neener neener!" I hate that happening to me in life, so I loathe it in characters that do it for an entire trilogy!

I'm going to get killed for this, but pretty much every character from Harry Potter.

I don't like those books, I don't like the plot, I don't like the style its written in. I find it bland, and the characters (with the exception of Sirius Black and Lucious Malfoy) are lifeless and wooden to me.

I think I have liked most characters XP I can't think of anything that I hate, but this one... In a trilogy called Mark of the Lion, there's a snobby brat main character named Julia...I think. She goes on throughout the triology doing everything for her own gain and pleasure. She even MURDERS her abusive husband.

I do feel sad for her in places, but she's so frustrating and blind and conceited. Eventually the way she lives kills her... But there's a twist... You would know what it was if you knew what the books were about XD

My least favorite literary character? That would be Angus Thermopyle, the antihero from The Gap into Conflict: The Real Story, The Gap into Vision: Forbidden Knowledge, and The Gap into Power: A Dark and Hungry God Arises by Stephen R. Donaldson. Angus Thermopyle is one of the most loathsome and disturbing characters in science fiction--and this is supposed to be our protagonist? Stephen R. Donaldson is one of the worst hack writers of the 20th century, and this trilogy of bad science fiction novels is proof of it.

*shrugs* I can't blame you...I don't like em much either. I don't even know why I read all of them. Especially now that I've finished the last book...

Though I do like more of the characters...not a lot of the main characters but...I like Sirius, Lupin, Neville, Minerva, Fred and George.....and thats about it really...

Oh there are too many to say I'll just state some of the ones I remember from the top of my head.

Professor Umbridge-Harry Potter
Morgan-Daughters of the Moon series
Fell (when he terrorized Kar as a pup)-The Sight

Those are all I can remember at the moment.

I must say, I harbor an intense dislike for any of Eragon characters. I don't much like the Harry Potter characters either...

^^;;; There are others, but those are the major ones...

I've always hated Reva Dalby from the "Silent Night" mini-series that Stephen King wrote. She was like a mini-Paris Hilton. eek
