Vikirnoff had discovered a new past time where he could put his fire abilities to use....Bonfires. They were fun to start and to keep going. He carefully built his up, using his abilities, wood and paper and anything that could be safely burned.
When it was nice enough to suit him, for now anyway, he settled beside it to watch it as it would keep him warm as night approached from the twilight atmosphere. Behind him, the roar of the sea could be heard, while gulls called out in a last effort to find food.
Beside him was a little undera, Alexander, curled up close to the warm fire and watching it dance. It was nice for them both to get out of their homes for a little bit... even if it is for a few hours...

The beach had seemed like a good idea to Genevieve, to take Dragul's mind off of things which Genevieve couldn't help her with. Her own mother had not been around for most of her adolescence, having been in the hospital pretty much all the time since Genevieve was in eighth grade, and so what she had not learned by eighth grade from her mother, she learned from books. Dragul had little interest in books, however, but a great many questions. Genevieve wasn't certain any of the books available to her would be of much use anyway.
It hadn't been cheap, getting to the beach. However, she had vague memories of it and free internet at the library had afforded her a bus route which was reasonably affordable. Considering it was over a hundred miles. Long bus rides are never inexpensive, but this one's cost wasn't prohibitive. So they were at the beach, and had been all day.
Dragul had enjoyed it immensely. She swam in the water and played at being a mermaid and caught crabs and made sand castles. When she saw a person buried in the sand, she insisted that Genevieve bury her, but that proved difficult, as she had a tendency to hover, being still a corsea.
But she enjoyed the water a great deal, and was still splashing around in it as the sun was setting.
Genevieve had set herself up on a scuzzy blanket and covered every inch of skin she could with either cloth or sunblock (she burned); she spent much of the day reading. She'd brought a number of books from the library to amuse herself. It was clear Dragul didn't need her, really, and was enjoying herself a great deal without her. Genevieve knew herself to be something of a spoilsport and was content to let Dragul enjoy herself.
But the bonfire someone had started looked tempting. The beach wasn't exactly warm at night, being rather wet and dark. Surreptitiously, Genevieve shifted herself nearer the flames.

Vikirnoff was too busy staring into his own firey creation to really pay attention to everything else around him.
Alexander wasn't as his curiousty and some born into instinct had him keep watch. His dark green eyes glimmering as he gazed about, much preferring the night then the day. His skin was becomming more sensitive then he thought it was...His last attempt to go into full sunlight, made Sky rush out to tug him back in and apply ice and aloe vera and much more other things.
Alex shuddered inwardly before his eyes landed on Genevieve, watching her shift closer to the flames. He didn't object to it. She seemed cold and he seemed to have a small desire to make sure she was warm.
Viki added another log to the fire, listening to the fire crackle and pop, the flames dance as though it was a living force of it's own...and it was sometimes...

Her eyes were well-suited to darkness. She was a creature of the Underground, after all, and related to goblins, what's more. She was as comfortable in the dark as she was in the light. More so, in some cases, though she did not possess a predator's glowing eyes or night vision. She simply saw better in dim light than the average human being. And what she saw rarely distressed her as it might a human being.
However, in this case, she was more distressed by what she didn't see, whcih was Genevieve. The human who had been her pretty much constant companion since she was created as an orb was nowhere to be seen, and though Dragul suspected she might be near the flare on the beach which caused her eyes to smart as she looked at it, the fire someone had started, she had no way of knowing for certain.
Dragul emerged from the dark water reluctantly, but it did seem - much to her distress - that Genevieve had vanished. That was more important than her investigation of the fascinating things below the water. She floated out of the water. Already she could feel the salt and sand adhering to her flesh, making it feel stiff and tight.
"Genevieve!" she called, beginning to move in the direction of the fire.
She was not entirely comfortable with fire, having burnt herself once, and that had just been a candle, the kind Genevieve called a tea light. This was a large blaze, so bright against the surrounding dimness that it made her eyes smart. Or maybe that was the smoke. In any event, she was loath to approach it until she could ascertain that Genevieve was definitely there.
Genevieve was definitely there. She had finally given in and walked over, forcing herself to look friendly. It had not been an easy thing. She did not make friends, or even acquaintances easily.
"Hey," she had said. "I'm Genevieve. Do you mind if I join you?"
What had been harder had been sitting down without waiting for an invitation, but the warmth of the bonfire was a welcome change from the chill of the beach.

Vikirnoff tilted his head, watching her sit down and shook his head. "I don't mind at all. Go ahead."
Alex shifted a little to make himself a little more comfortable, and to make more room for Genevieve. He didn't really feel either fire or the chill of the beach.
Vikirnoff pulled out a marshmellow and chocolate and offered to her. "Smore?"

"Thanks."
Genevieve felt much better knowing that she wasn't being a total intruder. Well, she was intruding, but she wasn't unwelcome at least.
She took a few moments to consider Vikirnoff's offer. She hadn't had s'mores since she was...well...young. She and her mother had made them in the microwave and had made a huge mess at the same time. She had been, maybe, five she decided.
"Um...sure. A s'more would be great."
Dragul hadn't been sure until Genevieve spoke again that she'd heard the human's voice, but when Genevieve accepted the offer of a s'more she decided that it was definitely Geneveive and decided to brave the fire.
She floated over and hovered behind Genevieve, who, having no sense of when someone's watching or following her, had no idea she was there.
"I'm Genevieve," she introduced herself, oblivious to Dragul's presence.

He nodded and went about making her a smore with a little smile. "I'm Vikirnoff....Vik for short and my little friend here is Alexander, Alex for short."
Alex rolled his eyes to Vik with a look like he shouldn't have introduced him too...but he didn't say anything towards it. He just smiled to Genevieve and Dragul, waving to the other creature.
Vik finished the smore and offered it to Genevieve.

Genevieve accepted her s'more with an answering smile. And then nearly dropped it when she realized how hot it was. for a few moments she performed a hot potato routine before her hands were used to the temperature of the sticky treat. Her hands were also a bit sticky by that time.
"Thanks."
She noticed Alex's wave and turned to look over her shoulder, having gotten the distinct impression that he was not waving at her. Seeing Dragul hovering behind her startled her, but she refused to let it be seen.
"Dragul, please join us. If the two of you don't mind, that is?" She directed the query to Vik.
Dragul was startled to have been noticed. Her vision with the fire was playing tricks on her because of the way the shadows leapt and the flames danced and the smoke stung her eyes. She felt she couldn't trust her senses. But she had been noticed, it seemed. The others didn't seem to have problems with fire.
She acquiesced to Genevieve's suggestion and did her approximation of sitting, which required some concentration, as she was otherwise given to hovering.
"What's that?" she asked in a whisper, pointing to Genevieve's s'more.

Vik was used to the flames as he created them. "I don't mind." He said before glancing to Dragul. "It's a s'more. Would you like to try one?"
Alex grinned a little as he made himself one and enjoyed it while he could. Alex, who was usually quiet glanced at their guests. "Been here all day?"
Vik blinked and prepped another smore.

Dragul's eyes widened. She wasn't certain that any of the things which went into s'mores looked edible, by Genevieve's standards. It looked like cardboard, glue, and brown goop. Exactly the sort of things she, Dragul, would like. She had no idea why Genevieve would eat such a thing, however. Usually Genevieve only ate what came inside packaging, and left the more succulent outsides. Which suited Dragul just fine.
"Please," Dragul said at the same time that Genevieve answered Alex, "Yeah. You?"
