I wanted to join a Yu-Gi-Oh rp.
Nothing wrong with that, right?
Only three people were in the rp. Someone was playing Yuugi, another Seto, and another Serenity/Valon.
I wanted to play Yami. It's no surprise. I've rped Yami, since Neopets, which for me, was almost 3 years. So, I can rp Yami, perfectly fine.
I message the creater of the forum, the Serenity roleplayer. I ask if I may join. Then she asks if I have a boy or girl avvie.
I'm utterly confused so I say 'girl'
I get this is responce:
" No sorry.....I am more along the lines looking for a Male rper who can play the part of Yami.....the last person I had rping him couldn't do it since she didn't know much..... "
Not only is she mocking my roleplaying abilities, but she doesn't even know the meaning of roleplaying. Playing as someone or something you are -not-!
I blew up. This girl must be a complete n00b for thinking such a foolish thing. Girls can play roy roles jsut as boys can play girl roles. Your sex has -nothing- to do with it.
It ticked me off today. Badly.
Well, this is my rambling moment. I hope you read and think about it.

Nothing pisses me off more than to go to a roleplay that looks promising, only to see that little rule that says "girls can only play girls, boys can only play boys."
So I know how you feel. The purpose of a roleplay is to play a character you cannot normally play in real life, even the opposite sex. Roleplays should never cut down on who you can play, because I can play a male character just fine.

what?! I've never seen that- that sucks. I probably never saw cause I stopped RPing in the normal forums and stuck with guild RPs. But still, that's stupid. I mean really stupid. Especially since a good amount of people make avi's of the opposite sex. so wtf? Grrr.... now I'm mad -lol-

Wow. That truely is childish.
Well, we cant help it. At least there are more experienced and thoughtful RPers on the internet I hope O__o. Although i am slightly new to roleplaying, I never even considered limiting Rping to gender. And what she said to you was rude (mocking your RP abilities). I wonder if she ever considered some people make their avvies different genders as well...
This post doesnt really say much but whatever sweatdrop
