Well folks to be honost I never, ever, at any time finished a final fantasy game. I have hit three main reasons why I dont. I watch someone else win, I get confused as to what the heck I'm doing, and I get bored of being unable to finish it. I know the storyline of almost everyone one though. Anyone else have this problem?

I have the opposite problem. My mother demands that I go to bed but I always end up with a comment like. "But mom you want me to stop saving the world.,"Or "but mom the great Siefer is talking." or wait let me find a saving spot." Heh heh she doesn't know waht it looks like so I score extra time. I get to sucked intot the story to want to stop.
THough that usally happens to me in shooting games but thats not important.

That is how I used to be with some other games. I did that with Legend of Mana, Shadow Hearts Covenant, Eternal Eyes, and Lunar 2 Eternal Blue Complete. It's just that FF has so many miny missions and I want to try them all.

I'm usually like that the first time I play. I'll play, stop, not play for afew months, then be bored one day, start playing over again, get hooked and finish it.

The only FF that it happened to me for was for Tactics the first time I played it, because I didn't understand the gameplay. So I went "this is *censored* stupid game I can't believe I bought this *censored* game!" I got bored a few months later and replayed and for whatever reason the controls clicked in my head that time, and I was hooked since.

I tend to lose interest in fighting games like Soul Calibur 3 where I try to do the storyline but it gets a touch repetitive so I set it aside for awhile and pick up where I left off later.

I see. You know I play fighting games to pass time and when I am upset. I really don't see how you technically "beat" them. Tactics is rough. I got to Raivones castle, lost three times and I quit. I just am no good at tactics.

Happened to me for the longest time...still does occasionally.
But actually for the first 4 or 5 years I played any FF game I didn't actually pass them...mostly because I saw others pass them...or else I would zip through the game and get right to the end and find out that I wasn't leveled up enough to pass it....and then I would be bored(cause I hate just leveling) and stop playing. My other main reason would be a short attention span for some things. I mean hell I can jet through a game in like 3 days.....but then just stop playing because I am bored or some other inane reason.

Right now I have about 50 games sitting on my shelf, all of them are on the go......lol the other 50 or so are on another shelf passed.
Course I did make time to go back to all my FF's and pass them.

Cool. All the games I passed I simply leave with the others. One time I beaty a game I rented in like two days. It was Gauntlet. I love that series. Don't ask me why. I just do. lol. I guess I can say I beat Gauntlet the Seven Sorrows also, but it is such a dumb game. I was disappointed with that one. Anyways, I am almost at the end of FF6. I am missing one character, I have 4 Dragons and the flying thing to kill, and then all I have left is Kefka.

If you are saying you are missing a character because of a space where all the characters are shown when you are forming a team, then you are noit missing one, there is always a space there.
However here is a list of the characters.(in their original ff3/6 snes names)

Terra
Locke
Edgar
Sabin
Shadow
Cyan
Gau
Relm
Strago
Celes
Mog
Gogo
Umaro

The last two being the "secret characters" and Mog is also not a main part of the game, meaning you do not have to get him, but he is essential to get Umaro.

I'm sure someone will inform you if I missed any characters though I do not believe did.

That used to happen to me when my brother played, particularly in VII. I watched him play the whole way through, doing everything, so I haven't actually beaten it yet... Since then, though, I've just learned not to watch unless I've already played the game.

Ravenwolf
Captain

Friendly Werewolf

I'm just the opposite - I can't STOP playing until I finish the game. Sure, I take breaks, but I don't 'cheat' on my games. I am very loyal. One at a time, baby, one at a time.

What I do is I finish one, preferably mastering it if I don't get to bored to, and THEN dump it for the next one. But usually in six months to a year or so, I'll come crying back for more sweet love from my old games. I replay games all the time...I'm that lame.

I actually have all the characters, except Shadow. I just can't seem to find him anywhere. I already have the "secret characters". I read something that said he was in the Collesium, which blows because I can't even beat Chupon because I can't figure out how to stop his sneeze from sneezing me away, and I haven't seen him there. It sucks because Shadow was one of my favorite characters. I really want to find him before I beat Kefka. And I think I am missing three Espers, but I am not sure which ones.

Ya watching someone else just gets a person aggravated. Poeple are just different so the missions that you can't beat drive you nuts because the person you watched found it easy, but then again there's always the missions you see them struggle on that you fly through too.

One at a time? I don't think I can keep my mind focused long enough. I am not A.D.D, but I am not really able to focus on anything once I dubb it boring in my mind.

Okay a question here then.
When the Floating Island started to fall....did you wait for Shadow to come and jump off? Or did you just jump off without waiting for him.

If you waited you can go to the cave on the veldt and save him there(making sure to pick up the weapon called "striker"(or whatever they changed it too, and then go bet that at the colesium. That will enable you to fight Shadow and if you win he will join you.

If you did not wait for him while the island was falling apart he is dead and gone, and cannot be brought back.
