She moved across the grass at a run, enjoying the wind blowing through her long mane. It had been a boring morning, full of nothing but yammering and chattering, and all she wanted right now was a little relaxation. And a run was just the way to go about it.
Pulling to a halt as she came across a small pool of fresh water, she stopped to take a sip. Not too long, she wanted to get back to her run as fast as she could. The small mare stretched out her wings, enjoying the freedom she was now granted, away from the responsibilities of the small, unofficial herd she was a part of.

Selene wasn't the only one drawn to the spring-fed pool. The scent of water had caught the attention of a thirsty unicorn mare, who was ranging into unfamiliar territory. Tear lifted her head and snorted, moving into an eager trot towards the source of the scent. Her ears kept flicking back behind her, but she seemed to be rather calm today.

Selene heard the sound of hooves, and lifted her head, peering up as a form headed towards her. Who...? She let out a nicker of greeting, waiting for the figure to become more clear to her. Stepped away from the pool, thirst quenched.

When she heard the nicker, Tear jumped sideways as though she'd seen a skinwalker next to her. Not slowing but eyes widened and ears pricked forward, she approached with a much more skittish air than she had previously been showing. She honestly hadn't been thinking much past her thirst, and hadn't expected anyone else to be around. Slowing as she came near, she paused with her tail flicking about her legs. "May I...?" She didn't want to trust a stranger so far while she drank, but neccessary was neccessary.

Selene blinked at the other mare. Snuck a peek in the water, and stepped back further. "Certainly. It's not my water hole alone." Her smile was friendly, and genuine. The other mare was... similar, in small ways. Little things in appearance, that made Selene want to giggle. She knew the other mare simply couldn't be related, and likely wouldn't find this amusing as she herself did... but heh.
She pranced back a few more steps, and started grazing on a few of the daffodils nearby. A good place for a light snack... water, food, and company. And no children.

"Alright..." Still feeling uncomfortable, Tear edged closer to the pool and lowered her muzzle to the water. For a few moments everything else was forgotten save for slaking her thirst, but before long she glanced down at her reflection...and then back to the other mare. She looked so much like herself...but it couldn't be. Could it? Having never known her dam or sire, Tear had little idea of whether she was truly 'pure' unicorn or not...she only knew what she appeared to be, and what she was inside.

Selene waited patiently on the other mare to finish before piping up again. "Do you come in this area often?" she was rather surprised she hadn't met her before, she spent most of her free time in the area, after all. "My name is Selene." The initial appearance shock was over, and now she was down to sheer curiosity.

Tear looked up and shook her head, eyes flicking towards and then away from the other mare. "No, I have never been here...if I had not found this place I would have...kept wandering. My name is Heaven's Tear."

She gave the unicorn a small smile. "Well, I guess it's a good thing you wandered here when you did then! I am Selene." she ducked her head in a small bow. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Heaven's Tear. Would you mind if I called you Tear?"

Tear blinked and then tilted her head a little oddly. "Well, um...of course, I should have mentioned that. Didn't I? I should have...I'm sorry." She bobbed her head apologetically, silver horn glinting. "Nice to meet you Selene, do you live near here? If you don't mind me asking, I'm sorry if I shouldn't ask."

Selene shook her head. "I just like to shorten names when I can." her smile was warm. "Chalk it up to inherent laziness, I suppose. I don't live in this area." The mare shook her teal mane. "I don't mind you asking. Please, ask away." she moved closer slowly, intending on stealing a small drink from the pool to wet her throat.
