She stalked forward, silent, wings folded back as much as they could be against her body. It was cool out today, which was fine with her. It would merely mean that the blood and meat would taste better as she tore into it, sliding down her throat to warm her belly.

Cool violet eyes scanned over the deer, selecting the one which would be her prey. That one? Or that one? Would they stop that infernal bouncing?! How could she tell which was plumpest if she had to bob her head like a fool to get a good look at them?

She could almost taste them. A watering mouth was not something a hunter needed. She steeled herself, and crept closer. That small one... that would be a good start. It was a male, and looked particularly delicious. A bit weak, but she was hungry, and not looking for an exciting hunt. Just a decisive kill.

She flicked her head a bit, moving a tendril of mane from in front of her eyes. She was focused on the deer, and the thought of food, almost to the exclusion of what was around her. Her mind was whirling around a plan. She would try on hoof for the deer, only taking to the air if necessary. It was not like she was a bird, with claws and feet to grab her prey and a sharp beak to break it's neck. No, she would have to be fast. She would have to smash it's head in with her hooves, and rip out that delicate little throat.

The thought was almost thrilling.

She ignored the warning bells in the back of her mind that something was coming closer. And made her move on the deer, shooting out of the trees, aiming for her goal. The deer scattered, in a panic, including her target. Dodging and ducking, but she followed with a single-minded focus until she was close enough to use her teeth to grab the small deer by the back of the neck and throw it down. The young adult struggled, but her aim was sure, and between hooves and teeth, it wasn't long before the light went out of large brown eyes.

The other deer were ignored as she tore at the deer's soft belly, digging for her meal. Violet eyes glanced around, keeping an eye out for other predators who may have been scouting the herd, or decide to come for her kill.

She finished quickly, licking her mouth clean, and then cleaning the blood off her hooves. Brain. Disgusting. She really couldn't stand it. The pang of hunger taken off her stomach, she tilted her head, now trying to tell what ese was nearby. An ear twitched, and she moved away. Did not necessarily want to chance an encounter if this other was hungry. It could have her leftovers.

She found her way towards the trees, moving into the shadows. Rested her heavy body against a tree as her stomach clenched. She'd eaten too much, had she? How annoying. It seemed like she was doomed to a bellyache after all. She bared her teeth, shifting, relaxing. One ear remained perked, alert. She wasn't going to relax entirely. It was too soon after hunting, her blood was still pumping.

She heard him coming, and shifted her body slowly. Curiosity and wariness, but the approach warranted no alarm. She stretched out, leisurely, and waited until the other creature came into sight. Walking along the path.

It was another, like her. Sharp of tooth, with wings that were like a bat's, with a leathery appearance. His body was black, veined with what looked like fire. How... unique. He moved like he had nothing to fear, and what did he? He was a predator, or at least she assumed.

She really needed to watch those assumptions. It was like assuming a snake that was playing dead didn't still have those fangs. She didn't say a word, but she shifted, letting a hoof strike a branch, breaking it in half. That was as much an overture towards interest in conversation as she was wlling to give.

He did look like he would taste yummy though, if a bit tough.

Zuli looked him over, quietly. Mildly curious. Not so yummy, now that she got a good look at him. Too much muscle, he'd probably get as good a bite out of her as she from him. She eyed him cautiously. Didn't quite know what to say. Conversation wasn't quite her forte. "Greetings." She said finally. Her voice was cool, blank.

She didn't quite know what to say, now that there was no need of him. He wasn't edible. Not that she was a glutton, she was QUITE slim, thank you. But thus far... he was the first like her she'd met. She'd SEEN others, even debated trying to munch on some particularly small ones she'd seen, but she'd never allowed one close enough to discover her.

She didn't know why she'd let this one approach. Maybe the lethargy had finally bored her senseless?

His smile gave her a delightful chill. He was most certainly not tasty. Lovely. The thought flicked across her mind that perhaps here was another who enjoyed the hunt. The feel of the kill. "That's because I haven't been around here often." she replied, meeting his gaze. "In fact, this is my first time hunting in this area." She shifted her weight.

"It's cold, in this area. Is most of the land like this?" It was cold and rainy, or sickeningly bright and shiny, with butterflies and frolicking. Days like that made her sick. She'd made it a goal to eliminate all frolicking, especially among the Others. The hornless, wingless ones, with no teeth, and no defense. She'd have gotten one of them the other day, and eliminated it's frolicking forever, but the foal was still being guarded carefully by its father, and she'd had no desire to get in a fight that day. But she'd memorized the look... she had thought it looked MOST delicious.

Oh dear, she'd started thinking, and if he'd said anything, she'd missed it. She glanced back up at him, tail twitching. That hadn't been smart of her, to get lost in her own thoughts in front of a stranger.

Violet eyes flickered, thinking. It wasn't the chill she minded as much, it was the wet. It made everything nasty, and sticky. It nearly put her off her favorite games. "I see." She glanced past him, towards where the mountains would be, though her view of them was nearly blocked entirely by trees. "I suppose I'll have to check them out then."
