Okay, not really sure if this is a spoiler or not but I thought I would throw it in just in case. Article Here.I am not sure if I should be happy or sad. I am a little happy because it might stop the live action fan fiction it seems he has been writing but I am sad too because he has been good to the show.

(°♠°) "I know that there's tremendous anxiety among Doctor Who fans about the future of Doctor Who," Moffat said in an interview at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills, Calif., where he was promoting his upcoming BBC America series, Jekyll. "Here's an answer that people should listen to. No broadcaster lets go of a show like Doctor Who. They'd have to be out of their f--king minds."
-- To anyone out there, when Jekyll goes to America, WATCH IT. It's a ******** scary, brilliantly written, funny and mysterious series, and I can't WAIT for the finale. o_o --
I kinda hope Moffat does take over. He's a better writer :3

RTD has his good and bad points as a producer. As far as being a writer for Doctor Who, I think he's full of good ideas, but he's not so great when it comes to sticking all those ideas together into a cohesive narrative (a similar complaint Terrance Dicks had about Douglas Adams as a script editor).
From the stories we've seen from Moffat, I think he's a much better writer than Davies, but there's more to being a producer than knowing how to write good stories. In fact, RTD writing so many stories each season is something of an anomaly as far as Doctor Who producers go...

If RTD does take over, I can't think of a better person to replace him.
