alot of people seemed like they were interested in this show so i thought id start a thread about it all i can say for those who have never seen the show is that even though theres alot of blood and nudity there are few if any animes that are more emotionaly involved. this anime can and probably will touch all of your emotions. some characters you will fall inlove with instantly while others you will hate with all your heart.    its impossible to watch this anime without feeling something evey time i watch i become overwhelmed by different emotions

the basic plot of the series is there is a new breed of humanity known as the diclonius. they are destinguished by their pink hair, red or pink eyes, a pair of horns on their head. most of them are extremely violent toward normal humans. as a result many are sent to labs to be studied in torture like experiments or killed at birth.
a diclonius by the name of lucy escapes from the lab where the diclonius are being studied. but in the escape she suffers a sevear blow to the head. as a result she develops a split personality named nyu. while lucy is a brutal and merciless killer, nyu is kind sweet and has an almost infantile understanding of the world.
the male lead in the series kohta and his cousin find nyu naked on a japanese beach bleeding and crying. they take her in not knowing who she is, where she came from or the dangers she brings with her.
thats as much as i can say without giving spoilers.

honestly if you can watch elfen lied and feel nothing than either you have a heart of steel or they may be something seriously wrong with you

I watched only 2 episodes, and I can't take it, it's so awesome. No words, emotions, or actions can show how I feel about the anime, cuz I don't know!! It's just COOL!!

its one of those shows i can watch over and over again. i love lucy/nyu ^^

i should probably mention this for those who don't know already but Elfen Lied is one of the bloodiest animes in existence.
there is more blood in the first five minutes of the first episode than most animes have in their entire run
