We've allowed a lot of time for members to read the books, so now the ban on threads related to the 7th book has been lifted.

Please keep in mind though if you're posting something related to the 7th book to post "Spoilers" in the title.

This thread now serves if anyone wants to discuss in depth the book in general.

I probably won't be the first to post in this thread!!!

Anyway

*SPOILER ALERT*
There should be no
"OMG SNAPE IS ___* posts anywhere except here

I'll sticky this and say it one last time...
When the book comes out do NOT post spoilers in the title if you create threads..

It won't be taken lightly... I assure you. Don't ruin the final book for anyone!

Of course you can discuss anything that happened in the book here. If someone who hasn't read theb ook comes in here well shame on them!

I've been up for the past 21 hours, waiting for my book, and reading. This book seemed to explain very little...How could it end like this...?

And...WHAT THE HELL!? THEY KILLED HIM!? MY FAVORITE CHARACTER,THE SPIDER (or doe,I guess)?!? WHAT THE HELL WAS JKR THINKING!?!

::Ahem:: Excuse me. Anyway, this book certainly was an emotional thrill ride, but it seemed to leave much open ended. What of George after Fred? What of Little Teddy Lupin? What of the sword? What of the Veil? What-the-hell? This book left so much open,so much still there,so much completely left out...Even the story of this book seemed extremely holey (Excuse me for the use of the mourning brother's joke)....

I am dissapointed. Surely...There will be another book?

FRED!!!! crying What will George do without his other half? Seriously, one of the Weasleys had to die, there were too many of them, but the twins were the comic relief. They aren't supposed to DIE!

And it was so sad when Lupin and Tonks died, I had always thought all the Marauders would have to die, but when they had little Ted I thought maybe... but no. crying Another orphan.

I really liked the book, although it left A LOT of holes. But the epilogue sucked. I didn't even want an epilogue, but I still read it of course. But seriously, I hate it. I had hoped Rowling would do another small book, like Quidditch Through the Ages, just detailing the main points of the characters lives matter-of-factly, not an actual story.

Me too. And,am I the only one who thought that the Hallows where sort of...Sprung out of no where? If they where that important, surely some mention might've happenedin the series before this?

Hell, most of the major plot points where 'freakin random!

Also,so much happened that didn't need to,and so much should have didn't. We where supposed to find out exactly why ghosts become ghosts. Who was the character that does magic late in life? How did Aberforth get the second mirror and do anything with Harry? Did the cover scene even happen?

I AGREE SOOO Much! I didn't cry though because I kinda didn't understand how he died.... I couldn't stop tears from coming when Dobby died! Why him???

The Hallows seemed to be more of a distraction to the goal of defeating Voldemort scream Bear with me, I'm just typing what comes to mind....

How the heck were we supposed to know that the doe represented Lily anyways? The veil was also a bit unexplained.

I also felt that Dobby's death was more moving than that of Dumbledore's in HBP.

Although, I loved the action during the last chapters at Hogwarts especially Kreacher.

I was not that happy with the epilogue either. It was a little cheesy.

I stayed up not reading the book, but because I couldn't keep my mind off it. I got 4 hours of sleep in the last 24 hours not a good thing for me....

The epilogue sucked.... BIG TIME! What abuot the other characters who the f*** cares about Ginny/Harry and Ron/Hermione? It was cute the way Harry named the kids though. I wanted to know what happened with George! His twin left him!!!!!!!!! gonk

The Hallows were thrown out of nowhere. DD's life was pathetic. That was seen nowhere. I did like the concept though Hallows vs. Horcruxes.

I agree the book came from basically nowhere. All the stuff we thought was Imp just kinda got thrown in... Wormtail's sacrifice? Wow..[/sarcasm]
Fred's death made no sense...it should have been Percy

Most of our questions were left unanswered. I never even heard of the Gray Lady

DD's death was like Fred's to me... completely pointless and pathetic.

The whole Snape and Lily thing was kinda known. I wished Snape would have survived to tell more

I think that JKR should have most certainly made the book longer. Or at least made a bit of explaination towards the Hallows in the last book. Also,Wormtail's death was weak as hell. I wanted to see him show his true (red/gold) colors and actually die FOR Harry, not soley BECAUSE of him.

Dobby's death was great, but there was seriously too much left unexplained, and the epilouge was just weak. Okay,we know they had kids. Great. What about, letting us hear about George? Or...the fate of Mr. and Mrs. Weasley? Or of Hagrid?

Tell me why Umbridge wanted the locket in the first place? Tell me why Griphook actually managed to get the sword, which was Harry's? I want to know WHY the Veil killed Sirius, and HOW Aberforth was able to use Harry's mirror. I would think that Hermione might have said something about Fiendfyre earlier in the book...But no,it's sort of a random "Oh,yeah, well, that can destroy Horcruxes too...Don't worry,it's not like that information would have been useful several hundered pages ago!". Ugh...This book dissapoints me. /endrant

Tired and about to go to bed but I had to say this:

The book overall was disappointing but I was happy
to see a character mature

Neville was awesome!
