I'm just like estatic right now. I'm sorry if I shouldn't have made a topic but I'm just so happy that I'm bouncing off the walls.

One of my best friends who I've known since I was a wee little thing is having twins on February 19, or somewhere around there and she asked me to be their godmother.
I'm just so happy it's crazy.
She's already starting to show which is a bit odd this soon but it's twins so I have no idea how early you show. She's got the most adorable little bump on her tummy, She even let me help with their names. It's so sad though because the dad wants nothing to do with them.

And now I'm rambleing and this is like a journal entry but I was so excited I had to tell someone.
Feel free to delete this is it's against the rules but if it's not deleted, anyone have any kind of advice I can give her?

And who knows how to go about throwing a baby-shower because I have no clue.

It's too bad that the father wants nothing to do with them. That being said, the best thing you can do is be there for support, both before and after birth. Twins are a handful if there's two parents present (I know, I have younger twin sisters), and the lack of father will only make it harder for your friend.

Also, your friend should start stocking up on baby supplies soon. Normally, she could wait, but since she has to buy two of everything (forever, lol) it might help to get a head start so she's not spending vast amounts of money all at once. And, everything runs out twice as fast.

I hope everything goes well for both you and your friend. smile

Sounds like the dad needs to be put in perspective. :eyeroll:
I wish her luck with the pregnancy and the children, and congrats on being thier Godmother. heart

unless the dad is willing to realize on his own that he needs to be there for his kids. i personally think it might be a good thing that he stays away and supports from behind the scene (that way if conflict arises after the kids are born, they wont really have to see him.)
unfortunately not everyone has the guts to man up (figureativley speaking) to their duties after all is said and done. shame really.

congrats to your friend though! i hope the pregancy goes well.

I'm probably a horrible person for this, but I'm curious how many friends the father's bragged to about getting a girl pregnant with twins, even though he wants nothing to do with them.

I've always gotten the impression guys think they're hot stuff when they make twins.

I heard with regular pregnancys it's 3 months and you start to show...but I would imagine if you've got two babies in you it would be sooner.

What names did she decide on? whee

I have no clue how to do anything with babies, luckily none of my close friends have even gotten married yet, or gotten pregnant, so I haven't had to worry about any of that sweatdrop

Oh, and I hope everything goes well for her! whee

Well the thing with the dad is he's going on and on about how she "tricked" him into getting her pregnant, which she didn't.
You can't trick someone into getting you pregnant.
She says tht she'll make him pay child support but another question she asked me that I didn't have a clue about was if she should give the kids his last name, I mean, he'll be paying child support but if he's denying them now then wouldn't he be mad if she gave them his name?

The names she and I came up with were;
Caden Avery (boy)
Liam Xavier (boy)
Adelina Jewl (girl)

And I can't remember the other girl name we came up with.

How does one trick somebody into getting them pregnant?

*thinks back to the Bible*

Ok... well, it's still not very likely. I've heard of some girls that get pregnant to keep their boyfriend with them, but most girls don't... and the entire purpose of sex is to make babies, so if you engage in it you have to accept the possibility that there might be some babies by accident.

Let the kids keep her last name, I'd say. If the dad wants nothing to do with them, why give them a reminder of how he doesn't?

I really like the name Caden.

I agree... other than Caden Avery the other two do sound a bit odd, but pretty. They're not a bad thing, I like unique names, I just think it's important to keep a balance between unique and stupid. (ex, Demonica--stupid, Tristian--Good, Sephiroth--You don't deserve to have kids, Ariel--Good).

Just like I do appreciate my name because it's less common (Sadie) but not so uncommon or weird sounding I'm embarassed because people want to know what my parents were smoking. And my middle name is Elizabeth, so if I hated Sadie I could go by that and it wouldn't have been a problem. I think it's important to if you use a really uncommon name, give them a good middle name. My brother was Ross Alexander, which I think is an awesome name because the first one is less common but if he had hated Ross, which he didn't, he could go by Alex. My ex-manager has a son named Chance, I love it.

Also, I friggin' love the name Zoie for a girl (different spelling, same pronunciation, I'm sure). When I was in Missouri some woman called her daughter and that was her daughter's name and it was love at first listen... it's just so perfect... a good name for a little girl, a good name for an old woman (like my name) and a good name for a starving artist, or fun-loving professional sweatdrop

Also, I hate twins named similar things, an ex-coworker of mine was named Lloyd, and his twin brother was Flloyd...that's just cruel. And I worked with twins named Christopher and Courtney... why name your kids anything argueably similar when they already look alike? Let them try to be their own person... In my humble opinion.

Edit: I just remembered... I have a kid on the Sims named Liam... he's my grandbaby xp

You can trick someone by saying your on the pill when you aren't.

I forgot what I was gonna say...

Oh yeah. I wouldn't use the last name. It can cause more trouble if he wants nothing to do with them. I'd hate to have my father's last name if he never wanted anything to do with me.

True, but the pill doesn't protect you from STDS, and unless you know the person well enough to know they aren't going to be tricking you into making babies with them, you shouldn't trust them to not give you STDs, so you should always wear protection... At least my logic would tell me that.

Plus, even the pill isn't a 100% garuntee, she could be on it honestly and still get pregnant.

Or she could get him really drunk, I guess.

The thing with tricking him into getting her pregnant though is she would never do something like that, this girl has been like a sister to me longer then I can remember and she'd never do that.

And the whole getting pregnant to stay together doesn't make sense , their relationship was great and then she found out she was pregnant, but didn't tell him and he just out of the blue says he's unhappy and splits and she panicked and kinda blurted it out.
We kinda came to the conclusion that he was gay, and it wasn't one of those things you say out of spite, it's the only thing that makes sense. He never checks out girls and he's always staring at his guy friends with this weird look on his face.

:/

I guess if it's blurted out randomly it would seem like a trick at first, though.
