Saeraphena, steadily creped out from behind the trees. The long grass that covered the southern part of the field frightened her, yet again, everything frightened her. She shakily creped forward, low to the ground, stopping every three to six feet to sniff the air and listen intently for any sounds she didn't recognize. This was her first time away from her father, let alone anywhere she felt safe. Finding a small rock in the field she climbed atop it and laid down her eyes shifting everywhere. She enjoyed the laying in the sun; after all, it was all her father did. But she could never get to comfortable… she never knew who… or what…. Was out there.

Quietly Sinent lifted a paw and placed it upon the ground, being careful not to startle his prey or shift the long grass in which he was hunting. Slitted blue eyes were locked upon the egg filled nest, but his other senses were on the alert for anything that might fight him away from the nest. Suddenly a loud skreech from a strange looking brush bird caused him balk away from the nest a step, but when the bird itself appeared it sent Sinent scurrying away. He did not want to have a run in with a sharp beak if he could help it.

Her ears perked up as quickly as she raised her head. The loud Screeching of the bush bird, had caught her attention. She looked around wildly for where the sound could have come. "What was that", she frantically thought. "Will it hurt me, will it eat me, it’s coming for me isn’t it". These were some of the many thought flooding her mind. She slowly backed off the rock, hiding behind it as she lowered herself as low as she could, peeking out from behind it.

Hissing at the Brush Bird as he trotted away from its nest, Sinent made his way through the tall grass with less silence than before. Slinking his way between the grass blades, the green snake like male flicked his tonge out multiple times to get a sense of what types of animals were hidden in the grass around him. Moments passed before a familiar scent caught Sinent's attention and caused him to pause in his trek.
"Another Ulaya?" Cocking his head to the left, he closed his eyes and flicked out his tongue once more before continuing. "And sshe'sss afraid.. I sshould go ssee what about." Pacing forward, Sinent angled himself to where he thought the frightened Ulaya might be.

They were coming for her, or at least she thought they were. She continued to look around the rock in the direction the screeching came from. Her eyes were moving a mile a minute and her body shook slightly. She looked like she had been shoved in a dryer. Her soft fur stood on end as she tried to lower her ears. She wasn’t sure what she should do, she wanted to run back home but she knew her father would nothing more than laugh at her and call her names. Her father was the reason she was introverted, she couldn’t get along with people because she knew they were all out to get her. Or so her father made her think. She listened and shook harder as she heard something coming nearer, she closed her eyes and stuck out a paw swinging it wildly, hoping it would scare whatever was coming off… or at least it would take pity on her and turn away.

As he stepped through the final wall of grass, Sinent was almost clocked by a swinging paw. Stepping backward and then to the side, the male dodged all the flails that were sent forth by the frightened female, his movements were as flexible as a snake. Sinent tended to dabble on the polite side in stread of the straight forward ordering, so he decided not to scare the female more by stopping her forcefully. "Misss. Be sstill, or I sshall ssurely get tired from all thiss dodging."

She continued to flail madly, she heard the hissing sound and it sent her into more hysterics, she sobbed slightly as she swung a few more times, the swipes growing less rapid as she began to get tired. She was still shaking violently. Finally giving up on the whole swiping ordeal, she backed herself slowly behind the rock.
“pppllleaaase donn’’tt eaattt mmeeee” she mumbled as she tried to calm herself from crying. She sounded as though she had hiccups as she gasped for some air, from all the crying. She looked up at him, and glanced over the odd looking ulaya. She at least wanted to know how she was going to die.

Blinking slightly Sinent let a gentle smile touch his face, and with soft and slow movements he sat down. "My Lady, I would not hurt you for anything." Wording his sentance so that he didn't stress any letter that made it sound like he was hissing, the snake like male kept a fair distance away from the frightened female as to not scare her more than she already was.

“Whhhat” she sniffled, “dddooo you want with me” her words studdering as she stayed safely behind the rock. “He is being awfully polite” she thought to herself. “Maybe he’s trying to soften me up…” so many thought so little time as her mind flooded. Her body stiffened up as she slightly poked her head out from behind the rock, staring the unique male down.

"Nothing. I sme-" Cutting himself off as he was about to say smell, he changed his sentance, "... I heard you sshaking and I came over to ssee what wass wrong." Continuing to keep his place on the floor, Sinent watched the black and gold female through his crisp blue slitted eyes.

She couldn’t take her eyes off his eyes, deciding that though she may not trust him, that he would at least not harm her. She shakenly climbed back atop the rock, smoothing out her soft fur. “What’s your name” she asked quietly, he voice still shaken from the ordeal. Or at least what she perceived to be an ordeal. “Why were you in the tall grass” was her follow up question as she kept herself ridged incase she had to sprint off.

Deciding it was better for her health that he did not state he was hunting, the green male modified the truth slightly. "My name is Ssinent, and I wass looking for food in the long grasss. I found that ssome tassty berriess grow in there." Still not moving from his place on the ground, Sinent bowed from where he was before continuing. "If I may, can I assk you the ssame quesstion?"

She eyed him oddly, Should she give this stranger such vital information? Or should she run and flee. Watching him bow she stared in curiosity. She was going to test the waters a bit more before trying to get at least semi relaxed around him. "Berries grow in long grass?" She asked quizically. "Father always told me they grew on thorny vines". She paused for a moment, how could she be so rude. He has asked her a question and completely ignored it.
"I'm sorry." she whispered, he eyes still locked on his. "My name is Saeraphena... and daddy says I need to go away."

"Oh yess Lady Ssaeraphena. Berriess grow in ssome of the mosst unlikely placess. In this casse they are called Brussh Berriess..." Letting a small silence fall between responding to the female's last statement, "Why would your Father tell you to go away? If I may assk?" Letting the paw he used to bow with fall back to the ground, Sinent couldn't think why Saerapheana's father wished her gone. The only thing that popped up was that her father was not quite the ideal father one would want...

Her fur stiffened again as a hawk flew by, he eyes leaving sinent's only for a moment to see what the hawk was up to and then back onto him. "My daddy thinks I'm a sccardy cat and that I need to get tough." she nodded, letting her paws gently slide down the rock so she was on her stomach.
