With a satisfying yawn, the stallion dragged his tail as he walked along the sandy beach. Since he had arrived at the beach, he was too nervous to walk away from it! The temperature was horribly hot, and the thought of being away from water seemed nightmarish in his eyes.

Around nightime was when he wandered around the most, and he had shifted his water tastes from a clear lake to a now the salty beach. He glanced lazily at the water, and picked up speed, dragging his large tail along with him. The dreadful thing always slowed him down, but he was too lazy to lift it up into the air. When he reached the cool waters ege, he only chuckled to himself, and dove his head in for a refreshing delight.

Ah yes, this was perfect.

The spotted creature must have been a weird site for any other Soquili, but he didn't care. He could give a damn about non-water dwellers anyhow. They didn't understand the delight and wonder that the water brought to him.

Life was terribly boring, but boring was simple, uncomplicated. Pakpao gently swam through the water, smiling as she watched the quiet life of the underwater world around her. She had no large fins on her side to travel fast with, but there was no reason to go fast, now, was there? She'd kick her legs back and forth like the land dwellers did on land, and she sped through the water at a pace that made herself happy. And making herself happy was the most important thing of all.

And besides, it's not like she had anyone to impress. The Kelpi mare enjoyed her solitude.

Indigo hooves paused mid-way through their stroking as she heard a nearby splash in the water. Someone was in her territory. She let out a warning growl, and searched around for the intruder. She preferred to remain close to the land as she could, for the other creatures of the waterworld preferred it deeper out to sea. And Pakpao preferred to be alone, so why not go where the others didn't? But the silly land dwellers... they liked to play in her territory. It was time to finally show them who was boss, and maybe they'd finally leave her alone.

Kuval thought he had heard something when his face had plunged into the water, but shrugging it off he yawned and started to put his entire body into the deepening water. The current was calm today, and it seemed even nature was lazy agaisnt the warm temperature.

Once Kuval had entered the water completely, he saw something frowning at him from a slight distance. Oh wait- that 'noise' earlier meant that something was there! He focused his vision to get used to the comforting water, and he lifted a brow to see- another Kelpi??!!

A part of him was actually excited, but he would never show that off to another. He just stared blankly, before noticing she was highly irritated.

Watching others get irritated was like, Kuval's favorite thing ever, and he molded his mouth into a sly grin while flapping his fins.

"Don't mind me, I am just enjoying the water." He said, with a suave voice. He slanted his eyes and swam in a semi circle, only to watch for the female's reaction.

Pakpao watched silently as the creature made its way into the water...her water, and submerged its body all the way in, walking along the ocean floor instead of floating and flopping at the top, with their head above the surface, like so many land dwellers did. How disappointing. She had hoped to play the shark impression and snap and bite at the land dweller's legs. Ah, well.

Her focus continued to stare at the creature, who was no doubt a fellow Kelpi. She hadn't seen another Kelpi in... well, she couldn't quite recall the last time she saw one, but this one looked more smug than anything else. He reminded her of a shark himself, with that silly smirk on his face. Only he didn't look so intimidating. In fact, he reminded her of the simple koi that lurked about the ponds she rarely visited, with his long whiskers and translucent fins.

She watched as he spoke, and swam around in circles. Even his swimming seemed rather smug to her.

"I do mind you, because you're enjoying my water." she growled, continuing to stare. "And it'd do you good to scram now and find your own territory to prance about in."

Kuval kept himself moving through the water, and he perked his ears as he heard the female speak. Her words were what he expected, and he kept his silly grin and pondered what he wanted to say back.

"I may have been more understanding on the theory of 'territory' if we were by a stream or small lake, but honey we are in the ocean. The ocean is as free as free can get!" Ah, he loved the way his voice sounded. It was so crisp and pure. "I don't rely or care about territory, what a waste of time. Is that really what you do all day? Yell at anything that comes in your water?"

Swimming a tad closer to her, he showed her that he was no where close to finishing in his speech.

"If you keep living your life this way, you are going to become a grumpy hag as you get older! And sweetie, that look wouldn't fit you too nicely. Your skin is far too glamorous to be used in a wrinkled display." He sighed dramatically, and lifted a brow confidently. "But what were you saying? That you wanted me to move? I am afraid I can't do that lovely, the ocean calls out to me, and so I must listen to her!"

With a smooth nod, he shook his head playfully and again pondered if he should talk more.

One eyebrow rose as the stallion started in on his flamboyant speech. Just as she suspected, he was as smug as his appearance let off.

"I don't yell at just anything that comes into my water." she smirked back, stepping forward to meet his approach. "Mostly just overblown pompous fish like yourself. The ocean belongs to all that live in it, I agree, but this particular area of land happens to belong to me, and I claim any water that passes through it, which you just happen to be swimming in."

Her cheeks colored as he complimented her. She wasn't used to speaking in general, much less receive compliments from total strangers, as egotistical as they may be. She shook her light colored head, clearing her mind of his words.

"I'm only grumpy when creatures are foolish enough to come near me." she snorted, bubbles erupting from her nostrils as they fled to the surface above. "And if the beautiful ocean's calling to you that much, why don't you go deeper into it, and annoy some of the other creatures that reside in it? Preferably a shark or an orca, of course."

"Ah, I am just not buying that darling." he said, while doing a twist with his body. "Why are you acting so cold? You'll freeze up the water around us if you keep doing that!" He playfully shivered his body to emphasize his words, and he winked at her following his already dramatic display.

But, he did notice one thing that was suprising, and that was the females reaction to a compliment!

"Someone like you should start acting as a gem of the ocean, not a stingy ol' rock! What kind of breed are you?" He narrowed his gaze to try and figure it out, but played along as if he had no idea. The way she was acting.. it almost wrang out Beta in his ear.

"Naw, I think I'll stay right here." he continued, with a triumphant nod. "I found something pretty, so why would I waste an opportunity and run away?" So smooth Kuval, soooo smooth. He just LOVED it.

"But honestly, whens the last time you spoke to another?" He raised a brow and stared at her, trying to look honest in her eyes. "If you always rush everyone away, then you will never have some fun or jazz in your life!" And that would be sad, so he needed to help this girlie find some fun things! "There are better things to life then 'territory'."

He couldn't just walk away now anyways, he longed to meet more fellow Kelpi around him. The other Soquili did nothing for his tastes.

"My name is Kuval by the way," he lowered his head in a princely manner, and brought it back up slowly. "What is your name, sweetheart?"

"Did you bring some fleas into the water with you?" she teased, watching his odd body twisting. It was like he had an itch, or he just couldn't stand still. Her indigo eyes rolled as he continued on with his dramatics.

"I am a gem of the ocean!" she interjected, shooting another glare in his direction and she contemplated walking off. No, she'd stand her ground. She was there first. "Just because I don't swoon over your words like some silly land dweller doesn't make me a ROCK, of all things! I'm just as much a Kelpi as you are, you... you buffoon!"

She stared blankly at him as he complimented her again, her eyes narrowing. No... she wouldn't fall for that smooth talk of his. Not that she didn't want to, of course. She had never met a female who didn't appreciate a compliment when she heard one, and Pakpao was no exception to the rule. That didn't mean this stallion had to know she liked the comment.

He seemed to drop his jovial nature for seriousness, and she finally allowed herself to relax. Serious conversation... yes, she could put up with him for a bit of that.

"I don't have to speak to another to find enjoyment out of life." she assured him, kicking a stone from the ocean floor and watching it sail and float back down to the ground. "I can talk to myself, and what more do I really need, other than myself?"

She paused, raising her head proudly. "My name is Pakpao."

"Flees? If that's the sort of thing you are into.." he eyed her suspiciously, and then laughed to himself. Maybe this female was weirder then he thought! (he of course understood her comment the wrong way out of a lack of listening).

"Well its good to have confidence, that is refreshing to see. You misunderstand, I also find you a gem of this ocean, but if you keep shooing others off, then you will surely end up like that rock you just kicked." And that would just be pitiful! Making oneself go to waste? Kuval couldn't seem to acknowledge that idea in his head.

"Talk to yourself? Now that's just creepy." he said, with a know-all expression. "What will you learn of others then? And of yourself? What one can take from a conversation is endless, you won't know until you try."

And when she stated her name, he only widened his grin. "Pakuu, what a cute name!" He tilted his head at her and felt the stars hit his eyes. "Pakpao, I will remember that. But Pakuu sounds like a good name for short." Since there was a limited amount of space in his brain for other people!

"See, aren't you glad to have run into me so far? Who knows what we can learn from each other." Or really, what he could teach her...
PostPosted: Tue Jul 10, 2007 3:05 pm

Her moment to relax was a short one, and she could feel her temper growing hotter with each word that left his mouth.

"And how, exactly, would I end up like this rock?" she asked, gritting her teeth.

She was tempted to kick that same rock in his direction, just out of spite. How dare he treat her like some kind of crazy mare? She was sane, she just didn't like intruders! What was it that this silly stallion didn't understand?!

"I learn from my own experiences, from my own mistakes. I dont need anyone else to teach me anything. If I've learned anything at all from our meeting here, it's that I shouldn't deal with such big-headed stallions unless I want to give myself a big fat headache!"

Her lip curled as she growled at the stallion. "Paaaak-paooooo" she reiterated, stressing the pronunciation. "Paaaaaak-paaaooo, not Pakuu!"

"Oh come now Pakuu, do calm down! The water around us is getting hot from your temper! First I thought it was going to freeze, but now it looks as though it is going to boil.." as he finished speaking he did a somersault in the water, while then planting his feet securely on the ground. "Pakuu, you are taking things so seriously! You are going to burst out of your head and give yourself a headache."

Poor dear, she seemed so irritable, Kuval just didn't understand why?

"What kind of mistakes have you learned from already?" he grinned sheepishly, wondering if he had made any drastic mistakes in his life so far (well, that he would actually acknowledge himself). "Don't you ever want to hear other's stories though? I used to love doing that when I was little.." A sentimental look hit his face, and for a moment it seemed as though the trick-playing stallion had absorbed himself in a wonderful moment.

"Is my head really that big?" He crossed his eyes to look up, and hmphed at her comment. "Maybe you need to get your eyes checked Pakuu dear, since last time I checked, my head looked just fine!"

Ah, this was just too fun. But, Pakpao looked as though she really was about to lose it, and Kuval started to feel bad. He didn't want to always bother people..
PostPosted: Tue Jul 10, 2007 3:41 pm

Pakpao took a step back, startled by his acrobatic trick. Perhaps she was letting this stallion get to her a bit too much. No sense in trying to attack him; he seemed pretty harmless. Annoying, but harmless.

"It's too late for the headache." she grumbled to herself, taking a step forward to regain her original spot. The shell necklace around her neck bounced with the current, and rested against her scaled neck.

"Mistakes I've made...?" she echoed, pausing to think about it. "My biggest mistake would have to be trusting the Merlocks. Those despicable creatures."

Her face snarled as she thought about the creatures. She had trusted them once, and, like everything else she had met, they had betrayed her trust. And not only that, but they had left a mark across her beautiful face... and whenever she saw her reflection, the memory was fresh and burned itself into her mind as if it had only happened a few days previously. It was something she'd never live down, nor never forget.

Her mood had grown solemn, and then Kuval asked about his head. She stared at him blankly, and the snarl slowly moved its way up into a curled grin as she watched the stallion attempt to stare at his own forehead.

"I... I take it you don't understand certain expressions," she asked, suppressing the chuckle from within. "Or did you really think I meant your head itself was big?"

He was happy to see her open up to him, and he watched her carefully as she spoke about the merlocks or something. He had no idea what a merlock was, so for the moment he kept his mouth shut as she seemed bent on a part of her past. When he noticed her get riled up, he only grinned sheepishly. "Waaa, look at how sexy Pakuu looks angry!"

...... ( A total Kuval comment)

"What did they do to you Pakuu? You seem tough enough to handle them!" How angry she was about it did make Kuval wonder, and he shook his head at the thought. "If I ever run into these 'merlocks" I will make sure to kick their asses." He frowned in disgust, what creature would hurt a lady?

"Well, you seemed quite angry at me before, so I assumed you were taking a low blow at the size of my head?" He grinned to her playfully and wagged his tail at the thought. "But anywho, you don't seem as disgusted by me as before. I must say, that is a nice feeling!"
PostPosted: Tue Jul 10, 2007 4:08 pm

Her eyes rolled once again at the stallion's comment. She wondered how often mares kicked him for he said to them. Then again, he didn't seem to have any scars or bruises covering his Koi-colored body, so perhaps he hadn't run into a female in a while, and thus his attitude towards her was as brutish as it was?

"I am tough enough to handle them." she snorted, getting defensive. She was about to snap out at him once again, but his next words surprised her. He didn't know what a Merlock was... yet he'd be willing to beat them up, just based on her dislike of them? Whether or not he truly meant what he said, the words touched her, and she quickly forgot about the attitude she was about to force his way.

"They... well... it's a long story. One you'd probably get bored of easily, knowing your... fidgety nature." she commented, tossing a grin his way as she watched his tail wag back and forth. Her own flicked in response, her mood attempting to lighten itself as her mind grew darker with unhappy memories. "Let's just say... it involved a spear. And blood. No need to get into any more details, right?"

She shook her own head, giving a small laugh as bubbles released themselves once again from her airway passage. "No, Kuval... your head is fine. It was just a figure of speech."

Just as he was about to re-affirm how tough she must have been, he watched her face change at his own comment. "Well, your a Kelpi like I am, and us Kelpis gotta stick together.." he lowered his eyes in a bit of embarrassment. "As abnoxious as I may be, there aren't a lot of us out there in the world, so I am really happy to have met you." The moment was wonderful and full of truth, until Kuval completely ruined any hope he had.

"Plus you are C~UUTE Pakuu!!"

Kuval may have been hopeless when it came to annoyance, but he did try to fit in a meaningful comment every now and then. He could never tell someone that right off the bat, that would just be embarrassing!

Once again he remained quiet as she spoke, but he shook his head at his dismay. "That sounds awful, I must be lucky to not have been through something like that. Us Koi are pretty peaceful creatures, so I grew up in a steady pond atmosphere. I was very lazy when I was younger, and I dreamed of bigger things out of the lake."

It was sort of fun, hearing about each other's pasts. But, obviously Kuval's was nothing near what Pakpao had been through.

"So tell me lady, what else is up with you? Don't you ever have the urge to just, talk!? Especially if you have been alone for so long.." he paused, looking at her graciously. "Its really ok for you to like, let loose if you want. I don't judge people."

And, once again-

"I could never judge you anyways Pakuu, you are too precious!!"

A sentimental and kind comment was always replaced by something ridiculous in Kuvals world, but he watched her keenly, wondering what other mysterious the female had.
