So recently while camping, I got high for the first time. And it was AWESOME! So, I look forward to doing it again in the future, and have no intentions of stopping. But the reason I am telling you guys, is because I am wondering what your thoughts about friends and family smoking pot was.
And I pot doesn't lead to other drugs, it leads to carpentry, because your always building bongs out of everything. xd
But really, I will not move on to other drugs. I will not do meth, dope, cocain, ect. Other drugs are really dangerous to screw with, and I understand that, so I will just stick to weed.

The bible does not condemn drugs. However, it does give forth the command to take care of your body, as it is a temple for G-d. This can lead us to rule out the more 'hardcore' drugs as they are rather unhealthy for you. Though, marijuana is hardly all that bad for your body (it's probably healthier than smoking cigarettes, as it lacks the tar and whatnot). Also, addiction caused by drugs is a form of covetry, which is, in layman's terms, idolatry, so you shouldn't get addicted to anything (drugs or not). Though, marijuana is not all that addictive (in fact, it's not physically addictive at all, the addiction is entirely mental), you shouldn't abuse it. Finally, you are still held accountable for the things you do while high, so that means that sinning on drugs is just as bad.
In conclusion, no, marijuana isn't bad according to the Bible, just don't abuse it or let it lead you into doing bad things.
Oh, it's also illegal, but, then again, that's pretty much a bull law that came about from horribly biased (though extremely funny) propaganda back in the 1930s.

you say its your first time getting high. you should really go to a christian retreat. its like a spiritual high. its great.
but anyways, how do you know it wont lead to something else. and there the addiction is killer tooo.
but really think about how God would feel. would He approve? having a high from a drug would really build up a wall between you and God. just consider that.

It's like Cometh said. the bible doesn't say no to drugs, but God does say to take care of your body since a temple of God. And I don't know the difference between drugs really, but most drugs are bad for your body, and addictive. And that could lead to the idolatry issue.
Oh and on a side note, if you really don't want to get involved in other drugs, then say you don't PLAN on doing them. Then you put up a wall against them. If you just say you'll never do them, then you don't put up the wall, and temptation can creep right in. Just thought you should know that.

the bible does say to keep the law.
So, in breaking the law you are sinning.
Pot can be used for medical purposes, yes, it is legal in the form, and in other countries in the world it is legal.
But, if you are in the US (or most of the UK, I THINK but don't know) it's not legal. So you are breaking man's laws, and therefore breaking God's.
I can try and find the verses pertaining to that, if you're serious about knowing that, or being religious.

I have agree with Dean here. If t's illegal where ou are then you are sinning. If it's not, then I guess you ok. Just don't get addicted because that means that you are putting the drug first in front of everything, even God.
But you also have to take into account that you have to treat your body like a temple and weed can mess up some things, like your short term memory.
So I guess just pray on it and be careful. biggrin

Pot is not addicting. Yes, it's illegal here, but there are other places in the world where it's not. It's better for you that cigarettes and alcohol. It isn't the gateway drug everyone makes it out to be. The only way you'll even be exposed to other drugs is if you let yourself be. So, personally, I don't find much of a problem with it. Just be careful.

I'm from the USA, so drugs are waaay illegal here. I've never tried drugs, and probably never will. I really don't want to lecture, but one of my hobbies is finding out true funny stories to tell to my friends. A lot of them are about stupid things people do when drunk or on drugs. It's a fact that's been proven time and time again that drugs, all drugs, turn off the common sense switch in ur head. One of the worst things about drugs is the type of stuff u can get into while doing them. Like, you can be dedicated to not having sex until marriage. If you have a clear head, you can stick to that. But if your high, you can wake up the next morning and find out you got a girl pregnant/ you got pregnant. I have a friend whose sister had that very thing happen to her. It really messed up her life. sweatdrop Look, im not trying to lecture. But people need to know that when their high, 9/10 times you can't control ur actions. You can end up hurting yourself, your future, or, worst of all, someone else. I'm not saying that it happens to everyone. But fiddling with drugs is like playing Russian Roulette. It's just best to stay away from the stuff.

I never tried drugs of any kind because some of them are really scary so it just seemed easier to me to stay away from all of them. As for pot itself, I would (I think) treat it with the same care you treat alcohol. The Bible is quite specific about not allowing yourself to become drunk, and I think God would feel the same way about getting so high on pot that you're effectively drunk.

Some friends and I got really messed up one night and one of the guys offered to give me a tat/piercing (it's a hobby of his). Even in this inebriated state, I still knew better than to say yes or to even consider doing it. Another example. I'd never do coke. I have been high and offered coke...yet I turned it down. See? Not all my common sense was gone. Maybe your friend's sister wasn't really that dedicated to the no sex thing. Just putting that out there.

IN Canada we have YC where almost 10000 kids gather together as a congregation. Everyone gets high; a spiritual high of worshiping and praising God. That is the best and the healthiest high that you can get.
Also, when you're smoking weed, there are negative effects which could harm your body. Your body is God's temple and you are harming it.
So best if you don't smoke weed at all
