Dislocated my knee cap.
But that was during break. On the last day of Band Camp my sophomore year. I missed the last half of the day and couldn't march for a couple weeks.
That same day one of the freshman tripped and broke her arm. She couldn't play for a while but she still had to march.

Freshman year. Last practice before our first season football game. I was doing a slow backwards march, and just happened to give myself one hell of a calve cramp. D; Next day, whenever I tried to stand, my right leg would begin to violently shake until my whole body shook. Was sent home.[Nurse even laughed at me xD] Still had to be at the game, but luckily it went away before we marched.
I need to eat more bananas. :]

Twas quite painful sad At least a screw didn't go through your head. That almost happened to me freshman year. Why didn't we pick an easy instrument, like clarinet? They don't have to lift anything, or have things propped on shoulders. They just stand there.

I "picked" Tuba for marching because of my Build. Band Director said that it would look more natural for me to play then I would the Trumpet. I still play both during concert, but during marching thats my thang.
More painful stuff.
Junior Year During a Melophone Solo she faced forward, while I back field... I can't see anything and if either of us are off by like... 2 inches she busts her lip sad .
Happened.... 3 or 4 times that year... I blamed the drill but the director blamed me... but it turns out that it was screwed up anyway and we scraped it before BoA smile .

my worst injuries were in 06'...in winter guard ....during practice when i tossed my rifle i didnt catch it strong enough.....it came back up hit me in the face and split open my lips....what sucked about this is that it happened a week before prom my sophomore year. My second worst injury was also this past yr in marching band season.... i did a blade toss on sabre...a triple...it was too buzzy....when i caught it i broke my thumb. It hurt like H E double hockey sticks!!!!lmao

Never really had that bad of an injury myself except when I got hit full force in the head with a flag spun by the only guy in our color guard. I blacked out for a few seconds but no big thing. The worst one in our band though was a girl I knew who played clarinet. She was back marching in practice and slipped in some mud. She landed with her knee bent under her which would've been fine except the next clarinetist fell on her becuase she couldnt see behind her, and then the bass clarinetist fell on her too. OUCH!! She ended up needing surgery on her knee and couldnt march the next year.

First day EVER of Marching Band........standing at attention for the first time....... 5 minutes pass (we've already rested for a few seconds) and we're back at attention. The woodwind instructor is walking around (and giving instruction) as well as the band director and field commander, who happens to be my brother's girlfriend. Anyway, about a minute passes and TIMBER!!!!!!! down I go. Luckily our field commander caught me, but I still hold the record in my Marching Band for fainting the quickest the first day. mrgreen And for some reason I'm proud of that.

Oh, yeah, right.
I've cut my hand on a concert bass drum. I still have the scar from it. Now I can say to my friends, "Hey! Guess what? I've got a scar from the bass drum!"
They give me weird looks when they hear that.

Hurt my back during a practice.
I just put IcyHot (only thing I had in my bag) and kept going.
Then, I went to my rec for a sports game (softball).
I had to put an ice pack on my back, and had to sit out for 2 innings.

I got sacktapped right before we got called to attention. Still managed to get up properly, even though my eyes were watering and I couldn't breathe.

My worst was a sprained wrist.
Two people I know....play the marching bass drum right? Well they leave the school building and bumped into the welcome sign! They didn't do it at the same time. The first guy did it his freshman year [4 years ago] and the younger one did this last year. Both of them ended up spraining their ankle really bad.
