Sadie drank from the small creek peacfully or as peacfully as she could trying to ignore her companions senseless rambling. They had been out all morning and still Taylor had not once shut her face. They were almost to the clearing and the huskey mare's stomach knew it and was growling rather loudly in anticipation.
"...And then he just took off! Just like that and here is was because this other mare was up ahead on the path and I think he knew her but wouldn't introduce me to her at all! How rude was that?! Very rude I should say!" the brown and blue mare went on without so much as stopping to take a breath. She knew that Sa-sa wasn't paying attention but still she talked on. She had been all morning since she had missed when rhapsody left this morning and couldn't follow him around.

Yawning mightily, Blais rose to his feet and shook out his shaggy golden mane; blinking once or twice to adjust his light eyes to the late morning sun. Next to him Gully was still sound asleep, but that was just fine with the painted stallion.
The longer the bear slept... the less trouble he would get Blais into.
Still blinking, Blais observed with mild amusement that both his father and his mentor were still sound asleep. The two old birds were usually up with the dawn and bickering over directions long before the younger stallion could claw his own way out of dreamland.
Snorting softly, he decided to take himself out for ashort adventure.. preferably somewhere with water.

"And then this stallion, Sunflash, showed up and was stung on the nose by a bee. Could you imagine how much that woould hurt?! I have never been stung on the nose by a bee before but remember that time when I got stung a bunch of times on the rump? Yeah, I bet it felt something like that. Anyway, Sunflash showed up and he was nice enough to talk to me since Rhap was being rude, which he was also being rude to Sunflash as well." the brown mare continued one without once stopping to take a breath. It was amazing how she could keep going with no sign of stopping or without her jaw falling out from over use. She didn't even stop to drink from the creek that she was standing beside.
Sadie continued to drink and concentrate on the cool liquid running down her throat. She still couldn't believe the mare was still going on about what happened the other day. It truely was amazing. She just couldn't understand it but also she wish it would stop. "Tay, listen, I am sorry that Rhap was being rude and all but can you take a moment and rest your mouth and my ears for a few minutes. Take a drink why don't ya!"

Still yawning, Blais ambled with careless ease through the familiar underbrush towards the creek Gully had fell into the day before. Funny memory, that little incident. He could have sworn the bear did on purpose.
Come to think of it... Flame had just lost his temper and Crousader did look a bit care-worn from scouting ahead.. he just might have...
Oddly cheered by the thought, Blais shook his head again and even picked up a bit of a tune just as he cleared the final bushes and found the stream.

Taylor stopped dead in the middle of her story at Sadie's mention of a break. Come to think of it she was a bit thirsty and they had been walking an aweful lot this morning. Plus she had been distracted by a new train of thought. "I guess I am a bit parched and a drink would be nice. Then I could continue my story once I have taken a drink!" she announced cheerfully, liking the idea and bent down for a drink.
Sadie sighed and was glad she was able to intrupt her friend's one track mind long enough for her to drink. "Finally..." she mumbled under her breath and went to take another drink but stopped in mid motion. Her ears swiveled as they picked up the sound of some one humming not too far down the stream. Lifting her head, she scanned the area around to see if she could anyone, while Taylor continued to drink oblivious to anything else around her.

Pausing, Blais noted with mild irritation that he couldn't get close enough to the creek side to take drink. The edges here were crowded with brush and from what he could see, the bank looked muddy enough to give out beneath his weight. Sighing, he ambled further downstream, snorting and mumbling to himself when branchs caught at his coat.
Eventually a particularly big one thwapped him right across the jaw and he cursed colorfully in the ways he had heard the young human hunter Pathen curse when he missed his dinner.
"Long legged hippity hobbity BRANCH! Mind where you swing!"

Sadie heard the thwap and colorful cursing that came from not too far up stream. She couldn't help but to giggle a little and the cuaght herself. She never giggled at anything! But the image in her head of Taylor get thwapped was just too much to handle. She really did need to get away from the other mare more often.

Bi-colored ears flicked forward alertly and the stallion paused mid-step. If he was not mistaken, he had heard the stifled giggle of another soquili, probably a female as he just couldn't see any male he had met unmanning themselves enough to giggle.
Which meant one of two things, she was amusing herself and had giggled.. or she had heard his tyrade and was laughing at him. The very thought of the latter sent him into a bright flush... he hadn't had much luck with the ladies, and given the amorous conquests of his herdmates... Blais was feeling a little inadequate and very insecure.
Surely the Spirits would be laughing at him for getting smacked in the face... but this? Biscuit and Grencia would never let him hear the end of it!

Taylor raised her head at the sound of Sadie giggling. Her face clearly showed nothing but pure and utter shock that her companion had giggled. The Proud and Mighty Sadie never laughed! At anything! "Um, Sa-sa...are you okay?" she asked quizically hoping she had misheard her friend.
Sadie flushed and turned to the other mare giving a slight cough to cover up her giggle. "Yeah, just had *cough* something in my throat. That's all why?" she asked wondering if Taylor had actually heard her.
"Nothing really. Just thought I heard you giggle and you never giggle, Sa-sa. Never ever ever!" The mare said and then went back to drinking.
"That's right and don't forget it!" The huskey mare said and nodded her head for good measure. More so to assure herself than anyone else.

The two-toned ears flicked forward once again, and given what he had heard, Blais wondered if he should count his blessings and creep away with his honor intact... It might be worth it; as far as he could tell neither mare had seen him, and the one that had heard him was vehemently denying it to her companion.
Resolute, he started to back away, only to feel something warm and fuzzy pressing against his left hindleg.
"Blais."
That. voice.
"GULLY! DAMMIT DON'T SNEAK UP ON ME!"

Sadie giggled again as she heard the voice again only this time it sounded as if he had a companion too that had just snuck up on him. She wondered for a moment if he was somewhere where he could spy on them but dismissed it. If he was then he would have come out by now knowing full well that she had heard him.
This time Taylor had heard the voice too and wondered what in thw world was going on. Sa-sa was giggling again and wondered it this voice was the reason for her acting weird. "Hey! Who goes there? We can hear you ya know!" she called out rather boldly without thinking.
Sadie stood there in horror as her companion called out to whom ever it was having bad luck. She wasn't sure yet if he was friend or foe but it was too late to do anything about it now. She gave a heavy sigh as her giggles subsided.

"I didn't sneak up on you Blais. If you hadn't been staring at the pretty ladies you would have seen me."
"GULLY! SHUT UP!"
"Yelling won't change the truth Blais. And as the pretty lady said, she can hear you just fine Blais."
"STOP SAYING MY NAME!"
"Why not Blais?"
At this point the painted stallion half reared and stomped the remaining distance through the bushes, clearly flustered and in dire need of a drink. Preferably a nice strong draught of ice cold water, made all the better if it came from a source big enough to dunk a certain ursine.

Sadie snorted as she tried to contain her giggles at the two arguing. She just couldn't help it. She bet thats how her and Taylor looked from anothers point of view and that kinda made her shut up and think about it.
Taylor just stood there and listened and then watched as the stallion came crashing through the brush. He was an odd at that. Another Soquili had not followed so he must have been talking to himself...deffinately strange.
Sadie also watched as this Blais crashed into thier view and then acted like they were not even there. Now that was rather rude. First he spied on them and then he just barges in. "Um, excuse me?"

Belatedly realizing his error, the painted stallion froze, amber eyes wide and obviously startled.
Behind him, Gully only smiled and trotted purposefully into view.
"Oh you'll have to exCUSE my friend here, he really can't help himse-" A long, heavily braided, tail whipped across the bear's back angrily. "Gully, please, just...stop alright?" He stopped to look at both mares apologetically, finsing himself loaded with a lot or nerves and few words.
