Okay, I just don't think it's fair that men are more famous when it comes to Jazz (or any other type of media for that matter, but let's stick to jazz for now). Your thoughts on this?
Oh, and come here and say hello if you're a female jazz artist! Us girls gotta stick together! >:0

Well, it also seems that more men go into professional jazz playing. See the connection?

There's only one trumpet player girl who's a professional, Ingrid Jenson. Other famous trumpet players are dudes.

Ella Fitzgerald is the only one I can think of offhand...
I can't think of a single famous female alto sax player, though. sad (I play alto sax). There was a female alto sax player in the jazz bar scene in Spiderman 3, though. rofl

Fuioxdu Sweet, another vibist! Vibes players totally get the shaft. I'm sick of reading from flute and guitar parts. xp I've had to play TROMBONE before on that thing! (stupid director couldn't give me a part not in bass clef...WHICH I HAVE PROBLEMS READING.) When we played Pink Panther, I had to get the stupid guitar part...why couldn't Naumann have given me a flute part? I wouldn't have minded then... But...I digress.
