Especially with Volks. On their US website they have two available DD models, on the japanese.. well, look for yourself. http://www.volks.co.jp/jp/dollfiedream/index_dollfiedream.aspxThey have so many cool dolls, most of which arent even mentioned on the US site. I am in love with the goth one, btw. Why, Volks? Why?! Why must they be so mean and ebil to us? Not to mention the english site goes into convulsions when you try to order something. The japanese site even has more info on Volks' new Robofie, even though it isnt what I expected, its still evil that they dont let us know any of this stuff. Meh, post stuff you have seen thats on Japanese versions of websites ( or Korean/etc ) that isnt on English versions, or just express how angry you are that there is/seems to be a bias against American/non-Japanese/Korean/etc buyers.

I wish I had Teara along to explain the fact that she had to pay a Japanese woman to stand around in line to get her Isao boys. Sad, isn't it? Japanese don't particularly like us other folks getting their LE dolls for some reason. The only reason I can guess is that they're still bitter about Nagasaki and Hiroshima, but that seems so unlikely. The Korean companies are a bit better with us... Even giving special international dolls and offers. :3

Astro-chan I wish I had Teara along to explain the fact that she had to pay a Japanese woman to stand around in line to get her Isao boys. Sad, isn't it? The only reason I can guess is that they're still bitter about Nagasaki and Hiroshima, but that seems so unlikely. The Korean companies are a bit better with us... Even giving special international dolls and offers. :3 But it isnt just with the LE dolls, in fact, it isnt even just with dolls! I have been looking at the accesories and they have over half of them in stock, but on the english site they have almost nothing in stock. They also seem to have more items listed in general, but, the reason the accesory thing makes me so mad is because, although I have liked dolls for a while, I have always been curious about how you go about painting them and such, and regardless of whether or not I can buy dolls, it'd still be nice to purchase the paints and just get used to mixing the colors and such, you know? They also have more couches, chairs, glasses, clothes.. It's just mean. I finally found that Rei Ayanami doll I swore I'd seen.. It figures that its Japan exclusive. I figure, if you went through a website, or used a credit card or something you might still be able to get them, but navigating is very difficult when you dont know japanese.

Oh yeah, LA, thats really gonna help me when I live in Ohio, half a country away. In Japan, two stores is enough because the island is so tiny you're probably never more then 3 hours away from them. At least when I am older I will be living in Oregon, or close, that'll make it much easier to go there. Hell, maybe I will even move to California..
But I mean the whole doll industry. Dolling stores in Japan and Korea, like garage stores, not just big brands, are as common as craft and hobby stores here, not to mention every general hobby store over there probably has some stock of dolling supplies. And having a store here is irrelevant when it comes to Volks, they havent even allowed the English site visitors to see half their stock, why would they change that now? They've got hundreds of models and figurines and at least 20 completed, special dolls that we dont have access to, not to mention the clothes, supplies, and furniture/accesories that they keep Japan exclusive.
I have sent emails to a few of the doll sites I go to, the ones that have products I am seriously interested in at least, and SOOM was the first ( and only ) to answer it. (Theirs was actually on a message board.. I figured that would get a faster reply ) Souldoll, DoD, and Volks completely ignored my multiple emails, not giving me the light of day. I really hope they arent that rude when they open that store, and I hope that they expand to cities besides the huge ones, my mom and dad wont let me go to NY or LA because of the high crime rates, and if I could go.. They wouldnt be going anywhere near a doll store.

I've never had to deal with that. Honestly, I never go to Japanese sites because they confuse me eek When I got my doll from Luts, they were very nice to me and made sure that my order was correct and it even arrived two days ahead of time! The only thing I can't stand is how the only way you can purchase from Volks is with a Visa or Mastercard.

3nodding Iam sure part of the reason is in spite of how popular they are, these companies are pretty small. They lack the facilities to provide all items to all customers, and so they offer a limited supply to out of country as an alternative to letting us fend with buyers services only!
They seem to have a really hard time keeping the supply up in general, I don''t know if you have heard, but a lot of orders have been delayed from many compaines because of humidity, the resin can''t cure properly in that weather. It sort of proves how small these companies are, a large company would be able to mold extras ahead of time to carry through the wet season with out slowing sales.
I guess I just believe that they would sell more if they could, after all, they are a company that needs to profit. But until they can bring up production they will more than likely continue resricting out side orders whee
Might also have to do with customs laws....grrrr

bias is there because of several reasons:
racism country politics country laws
racism is the most sucky one...but i havent ran into this much. mostly the largest problem ive ran into is laws, and shipping. countries have different laws what stores can do what where. keep in mind that things like MSC are legal in japan - but not in the states, and that may go for their pants and other matierals - as well. there is all sorts of weird laws rolleyes

I know why its there, it just angers me. They have an ENTIRE SERIES of japan exclusive figurines, and about 10-15 japan exclusive DD/SD/Lost Angels story dolls. Not to mention the furniture, accessories, and tools that they have on their Japanese site. I also doubt that Volks is a small company.. they've been doing figurines for quite a while.

MSC I don't think is illegal to have it here, just illegal to sell it, like it's illegal to sell ferrets and turtles here in Tennessee, but not illegal to own them as pets.

.. Mr. Super Clear is illegal? xd Why?? You can just buy them in bulk from a certain retailer on Ebay... Carries every product in the Mr. line, and some other line too.. I think I will prefer the Mr. line though, when I get dolls of my own. It feels more official.. You know? Plus the Zoukei Mura Pastels..
I really hope Volks expands into the US outside of California.. It's a shorter trip, but still.. It'd be nice to have NYC store, or even more loacl ones. I am sure if more people knew about BJDs, more people would be interested in them.

I think it has some chemical in it that's illegal in the states. Canada? I have no clue. sweatdrop And I call myself canadien. O.T.How come selling turtles and ferrets are illegal in Tennesse? Like in Ottawa you can buy them in pet stores. Heh heh...I suppose it's like not being alloud to eat icecream on bank street on sunday, but you can the rest of the week.
