Has anyone read it? And if so, what did you think of it?
I'm currently reading it, and I think it's a super book. =]

The book is makes more sense to me than the movie, but I think it was because I didn't really watch the movie. =/ But I'm reading the book, the part where she is going to get a danna...

I tried reading the book a few months ago, but I couldn't get into it. And because of that I kept loosing my page (because I rarely use a bookmark to mark the page I'm on, but even then I kept forgetting about what was going on). So after some time, I got pissed because two weeks had gone by, and I hadn't even gotten past page 67, and I wanted to read other books, so that was what I did.

How many of our daydreams will darken into nightmares...
The book is absolutely flawless.
Sayuri is such a deep, well thought out character.
I'd definetly reccomend the book over the movie. If I had not read the book before seeing the movie, I would have been uber-confused.
... where there is a danger of them coming true?

they changed so much from the book when they did the movie. it was a vague rendition that barely touched the plotline.

Yeah, the movie was confusing (or at least the bits of it I saw). Now, I'd like to see the movie, but ehhh...I'm pretty satisfied with the book. <3

OMGSH. I JUST started reading this book today. Absolutely amazing. biggrin She was just checked out, and they're telling her about being a Geisha, prehaps, in a few months. Its barely into the story, but its still really good! It's captivating.

I enjoyed it when I read it a few years ago. I was surprised to learn about the author...
