"ACHOO!!!"
Ugh....as fun as it had been, maybe playing outside in the pouring rain in just his uniform pants had been a bad idea... For whatever reason, the castle and the city surrounding it had had constant rainfall that day. Tired of being stuck inside, the young second in command had gone out to happily play in his element.
...For hours.
As fun as it had been, all it earned him in the end was the start of a rather nasty cold. Sniffling, dripping wet, and looking rather miserable, the boy now wandered the halls to slowly make his way back to his room. His usual mullethawk had been flattened during the play, and his tails and wings drug limply on the ground behind him.

Lexaeus didn't much care about the weather. A brick wall like him was unaffected by rain or cold, which often led the smaller and more vulnerable organization members to cluster downwind of him for shelter from the worst of it all. The giant wouldn't have minded if it weren't for the risk of stepping on smaller feet.
Perhaps for that reason alone he was thankful Luxord had been sent out on the week's mission instead of him. He could find some quiet room to meditate, or practice outside where he wouldn't be afraid of treading on toes.
As he strode in the direction of the nearest quiet, empty room, Lexaeus happened to pass by a small, drowned-looking creature that might have been the second in command. He couldn't help but pause and glance down to be sure.

"mmrph?..."
Green eyes had been focused on the floor as he trudged along, but one couldn't ignore the louder footsteps in the hall. Such footsteps were usually accompanied by Lexaeus, the resident brick wall/shield for the other members. Forcing aching muscles to move, the sitarist tilted his head back to look up at the quiet one.
"Hi...Lexy..."
The greeting was followed by another sneeze, and Demyx soon let out a frustrated whine.

The giant's eyes dropped down to the sleeve of his coat, just to be sure that sneeze didn't land there, and then up only slightly to look at the little musician.
"You look tired." He said simply. Demyx looked more than tired, he looked cold, wet, and more than a little ill, but what he said was enough to get the point across.

"I...guess I'm kinda tired..."
Exhausted was a better word. With a heavy sigh, followd by a bit of a cough, the sitarist struggled to lift his wings back off the ground. It wasn't too long before the feathery mass smacked back into the ground, their owner simply lacking the strength to keep them up right now.

Lexaeus was pretty sure he knew where Demyx's room was. Without a word he picked up the small angelic like one would pick up a small child, so the little musician could sit on his arm and hold onto a broad shoulder for balance. The wet fur and pants squelched against the leather of his jacket.
"You should leave the water outside."
Although he looked like a hulking brute he had a soft spot for little helpless things. This would be well out of his way, but he couldn't just let Demyx keep trudging along, dragging his wings like that and looking so miserable. This way, Demyx's feathers didn't even scrape the tiles as Lexaeus headed towards the musician's room.

"Mmmrph?..."
Normally quick reactions had been affected by the cold, and the sitarist was surprised to find himself in the grip of the other. Still...he wasn't about to pass up a ride to his room, and Lex carrying him was way better than dragging himself the rest of the way to his room.
"B-but...I like it......"
Head hanging a bit, Demyx watched the water drip as Lex walked along.
"T-thanks....by the way."
It was rather undignified for the second in command to be carried around like this, but Demyx never really argued with anyone babying him. He thrived off the attention.

"It is not good to be wet all the time."
Lexaeus was glad Demyx didn't protest over being carried, it made the task much easier. Although it would have taken some time for the poor boy to drag himself to his room, Lexaeus was there in no time at all and setting Demyx back on his feet outside the door.
"Rest now."

"But it's my element..."
The little one didn't protest until Lex had set him down outside his door. With a slight whine Demyx clung back to the giant.
"But...but....Lexy!"
But...damnit Lexaeus was right. He really should rest. He didn't want to be sick when the gambler returned now did he? With another whine, the boy released the other and trudged sadly into his room.
"Kay..."

Maybe it was the clinging, or the sad whine, or being called Lexy, but the stone-carved Audio couldn't just leave Demyx like that.
"I will bring towels."
So much for meditation or practice... Lexaeus turned and left the musician alone, but only long enough to find the nearest linen closet, grab a couple towels, and return to stand outside the little one's door. It would have been rude to just walk in without an invitation.

Now, normally, Demyx could have simply commanded the water off himself to dry off. But the little one was finding it hard enough to keep himself upright, let alone exercise any control over his element. Given that, the boy had hardly moved from his spot by the time Lexaeus had returned.
"T-thanks Lexy.....you can come in you know. I don't mind..."
Demyx's room was something you'd expect from a child. Stuff scattered here and there, a table littered with random crayon doodles... In perhaps the most well kept corner of his room sat the musician's instrument, lovingly placed in a holder. The bed, unmade of course, was a water bed, and on a table next to it sat a small fish tank with a particularly colorful betta fish inside.
"Er...sorry for the mess.."

Lexaeus stepped in without a word, careful not to tread on any of the items littering the floor as he made his way over to where Demyx was. He hesitated at first, but then gently draped a towel over the musician's shoulders and used the other to towel off the ends of his wings. He was excruciatingly careful, small things were delicate and he didn't want to hurt Demyx.

The help in drying off was quite welcome, and while Lexaeus worked on his wings, Demyx used his towel to try and dry off his head and get his hair to stop dripping. Once that was suitably dry, he worked on drying off his chest.
...Of course, with his wet pants still on he'd never really get dry. Ears flattening, Demyx glanced down at the soaked fabric, and then back up again at Lexaeus.

Lexaeus paid no mind to the second in command's glances until he felt satisfied with the wings, and then he stood and left without a word. He didn't go far, only outside the door so Demyx could change in peace.

"Thanks Lexy!"
Okay, now he could get out of his wet clothes and really dry off. A few minutes of changing, and the sniffly youth poked his head out the door.
"I'm done Lexy...you can come back now, if you want..."
For once Demyx was content wearing the full regulation pajamas. Usually the long sleeved hooded shirt and pants were too warm to sleep in, especially after wearing the coat all day, but the warmth was welcome now. Though, for a bit of fun, Demyx had replaced his black pants with blue fishy ones instead.
