Okay, as I said in the announcement, we're missing an HC member. So, if you're seriously interested in being an HC member, make your case in here.
I will say, though, that HC members both have additional duties in the guild and must hold themselves to higher standards than an average Paladin. It's not all mod powers and sparkles. FYI. =p

Enjoy.

I offer mys ervices, and shall even provide logical reasoning for it

in terms of helping to run or moderate the guild itself.... I am the captain of the Chrono Series guild, a Mod of the anti-Console Wars guild, and a mod who helps make admin decisions for the Xeno: Beyond Alpha and Omega Guild. So I am quite capable in that regards.

On the topic of higher standards, though I may be prone to sarcasm and wisevracks.... I always provide logical reasoning for my statements or opinions in the VG forum. I also endauvor to do research so I can provide actual facts when it comes to questions about variosu consoles, games, or even questions about releases.

I also take the time to check the guidlines regularly so that I am aware of the current forum rules, as I find that helps me to more accuratly inform people when they have a question about rules.... and helps me to have a better understanding of what is and is not allowed.

What does additional duties and higher standards include?
You'd think it'd be rather hard to honestly say you have an interest in doing something if you don't really know anything about it. sweatdrop

the way I see it..... we can provide examples of what we do or are willign to do

and if they meat the needs for those higher duties and standards.... then there is nothing to worry about

Basically, voting on issues such as member ejection (though hopefully not that) and new member inductions, and higher standards such as very little stepping outside the Paladin code, as in no outbursts.

Sounds quitre reasonable

I feel I would be capable of simply walkign away, it is something I decided recently I would do before resortign to irate outbursts.... I try to remain civil even when upset or irritated... so for me at least that seems simply the next logical step

I see. Well now that I know what I may be getting myself into, I'm interested.
I've little experience in being a mod, dispite being one in two other guilds. But if all it really requires is helping to pass judgement I can help quite a bit in that manner since I spend plenty of time watching people.
I try my best to avoid violent outbursts, though when dealing with some people it is rather hard to do so. In those cases I'll just leave or take the discussion to PMs.

in terms of jusdgement calls and such

I personally try not to make hasty decisions, so I feel I would be quite capable of such things. I attempt to remain calm and hear out peoples reasoning... I also attmept to explain to them what ti is they are doing wrong

So I feel I would be able to not only help make such decision in a fair maner, but to possably help to curtail the need for such decisions as well.

If you're letting us nominate ourselves.. I think I may take you up on that offer.. I would greatly like to be a high councle member, not just to go around making little small ninjalike edits in random posts, but I also want to help. I think I can live up to the standards that Ember, SSM, Sgt. Baker, Trajedy, and last but certanly not least Kedian has set for many people. I spend alot of my time, and many of my days on gaia. I don't post very often, but when I do post it's most, probably about ninty-five percent of the time in Guilds or in the Video Game Discussion fourm. Seeing it is summer I have plenty (more than any of you could ever imagine) of free time, and I spend a great deal of it on Gaia and AIM, and the rest of it sleeping. Seeing School is comming around soon.. I normaly spend my days on Gaia to releive stress and just to pass the time. I feel I would do well in a High Councle Position, and I would be able to help many many people. I have experiance modding, for I mod a few websites and a guild here on Gaia. I don't often have rude outbursts, and even if I'm angry and I see a thread that makes me angry. I am often polite, and as I look back, I don't remember anytime where I have had an outburst, I also provide reasons behind my explinations of what I say, and I'm not hesitant to admit I am wrong, if there is steady proof against me. I would like to take on those dutys of being a H.C. Member, as Ember mentioned. I personaly think I'd do a fairly well job of being a H.C. Member. I'd like you to consider picking me to join. mrgreen

I was not aware that available time was a factor..... else I would have mentioned that since I am technically on disability that time is one thing I have in a great abundence.... so much so in fact that I often find myself with nothing left to do.

I've not nearly been active enough to be considered.
So, I shall step back and give my luck to those whom are worthy.

Kedian was the British HC member, and therefore I can be the new British HC member. xp

I think you'd be a good H.C. Member BGBW.

I think there are many active Paladins that would do well on the HC

but I have given my reasons why I think I coudl do it, and many forum regulars including HC members can attest I am active

but I suppose at this point it is more a matter of waiting to see what is decided
