Genna was sitting on a rock in the middle of the pool, combing her luxurious golden hair. She glanced down at the water which surrounded her. It was a lovely lavender hue. What would the water look like if it was some ridiculous color like blue?
Genna's head whipped up as she heard a noise, her golden halo almost falling off. She quickly readjusted it as she quietly slipped back into the water, peering over the rock she had been sitting on before, trying to keep out of sight of whatever had made the noise.

She was lost. She laughed at the absurdity of it, her getting lost. That was supposed to be Pumpkin's job, not her's. How did it happen? Oh right, she had been attempting to walk along a tree log that had fallen between a crevice. It covered the space well but if you fell, you would bounce along the rocks before falling the the water below.
She had gotten across alright, of course she knew she could so that did not matter. But then she made a stupid mistake, she had thought that the tall grass she saw was all even but it wasn't. She had been on a hill, she had rolled and rolled for what had seemed like ages, before finally stopping, in this place. A place she was unfamiliar with.
Coming across some Lavender Water made her blink in surprise. The only water Denise had ever seen before was not Lavender, it was clear or looked like it was blue at times. How was this water Lavender? It made no sense. "Where in the world am I?" She muttered, irritation in her voice.

Genna poked her head up a little bit higher so she could see the intruder. What was this creature that had just tumbled down into her domain? As one of the Blessed, it was up to her to protect the Waters, but she had never seen anything like this threaten her home...

She tossed her head of hair before plomping herself down near the water's side. She couldn't see her reflection in the waters all that well, a paw reached down to feel the water. It felt like any other water but the colour was just different from what she was used to.
Denise looked about and froze. A faint crease line formed on her forehead, her eyebrows knitted together. What in the world was that? She stood up on all four paws, watching the other carefully. She could not let her guard down, who knows what could happen.

That was it. No way was this thing going to touch her water, not if Genna had anything to say about it.
In one fluid motion, Genna slipped out of the water onto the rock. Her wings beat the air behind her, not lifting her, but simply giving her the presence she needed to enforce her authority.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" She demanded of this newcomer.

She stared blankly at the other, her eyes stared at the other's eyes. Her nose wrinkled in annoyance. The other was quite demanding of her, it was irritating. But she might as well meet the demands of the other, no need to upset another Hespierden.
Or at least she thought it was a Hespierden but then again, as Denise took in the looks of the other, maybe not. "I am from the Minyan race, my name is of no importance really. I am tragically lost, tragically because I never get lost." She inclined her head. "What may you be?"

Genna tried not to grin. She'd never heard anyone speak like that. "Uh... I'm a Choumeida. You've never seen a Choumeida?" Unthinkable. "You're... an interesting little thing, though. A Minya, eh? Where did you get those ears? And that tail - it can't be much good for swimming..."

"Unfortunately no, you are the first. I do not meet others all that often." She tilted her head before tossing it, her hair fell behind her. "I was born with my ears, it is common among us. My tail is fine with the water, it bobs behind me while I swim."
She frowned, was there something with her tail? Her tail moved back and forth, the end bobbing. Her eyes looked away. The beauty of this Choumeida was stunning, she was so bright like the sun that Denise couldn't help but look away. "You have wings."

Genna glanced back and forcefully flapped her wings a couple times, lifting her off the ground, then letting her back down. "Oh, these? Yeah, I was born with them. I'm the only Choumeida who has them," she proudly added. She flicked her tail around in front of her so she could sit more comfortably. "So you really can swim with that skinny little tail of yours?" Genna asked doubtfully, glancing at her own thick, papery tail that propelled her through the water so well. She wasn't trying to insult this... Minya, but she could imagine swimming without her powerful Choumeida tail.

She watched the tail, her mouth fell a bit open. How in the world? She shook her head. "Of course I can swim with my tail, it does not affect my swimming at all. After all I swim with my paws." She rose a paw and flipped it over, staring at it.

Genna cocked her head at this. Your... paws? "Really? What are... paws?" She noticed the Minya looking at one of her hands. "Oh, your hands, you mean?" Why was she referring to her hands as 'paws'? What an odd term...

What were hands? Denise frowned. She disliked not knowing what others were speaking of and this Choumieda saying a word like hands confused her. She looked at her paws, what was the connection?
This Choumeida seemed to not know what were paws, imagine that, but then mentioned hands. Was that what paws were called, for her? Denise eyed the Choumeida's paws, they were not covered in fur. Though neither was any other part of this Choumeida. She shook her head, how peculiar.
"Hands." She repeated. "If that is what you call them then yes, these are my hands." She indicated her paws, hoping her assumption was correct. Being incorrect was another thing Denise disliked.

"Yes, these are hands," Genna confirmed, proffering her own. "If I offended you, I'm sorry. So you can swim with your... 'paws'? Show me?" She asked. She'd never seen someone swim without a tail like hers...

"Of course I can swim with my paws." She frowned, did this Choumeida truly not believe she could not swim with them? Denise was not offended, it would be idiotic to be for there was no reason to be offended. A little thing like hands or paws, not important.
When the Choumeida said she wished to see Denise swim, well that was something Denise did not want to do. Though she went into the water whenever she was dirty or when she had to in order to cross to another place, Denise didn't really like the water all that much.
Her fur got soaked and took forever to dry off and even after it was dry it got so tangly and sometimes it poofed out in sections and Denise disliked that greatly. It was the vain side of her, Denise liked looking her very best though. "No I don't think I shall."

"Don't you like the water?" Genna was surprised. Who didn't like the water? Especially the lovely water she was watching over right now. That just couldn't be right...
