It's probably been asked, but let's open the topic again, what's your favorite non firing weapon? Please, the more exotic the weapon, the better! I want a great and varied debate here!

I voted the body, beacause it can create as well. However, cliche nuancess aside, what weapons you guys got? I want bizarre, stoic, simple, expected and unexpected. I myself am particularily fond of the wooden sword as it's easy to create, use and recreate. I also like the simple wooden pole or escrima length sticks.

Bo. *twirls it above her head on an open palm* For both fighting and doing creative patterns, you gotta love the possibilities of a simple long stick. Also, my body, but the bo-staff can augment it... *uses it for support in a flying side kick*

I couldn't agree more with both of you. The odachi is my favorite type of Japanese sword. However Dusky, I must admit there's nothing more alluring than a woman with a polearm weapon. Must be the fact that female samurai started weilding naginata. *erhem* Well, so far we have some basic favorites, but let's bring variety into the debate. Feel fee to put up pics of weapons too!

One of my freinds is in love with kama. However, there is a rather funny story there... one of the first dans at my dojang happened to be practicing with a pair of kama and managed to stack himself with them while doing a backflip.... lol.

They're little sticks with hooks on the ends, and he landed on his head. I think he managed to hook himself with them.

Somehow, the funniest things seem to happen in weapons class.
*the picture frame holding the student creed is lying smashed on the floor* Instructor: What happened here? Student: Ummm.... Nick's Bo happened... Other Student: Dude, that should be a bumper sticker. "Nick Happens."

it's hard to pick a favourite, the first weapon i learned was Bo, which i love after that i learned nunchaku, which are ok for being flash i hated tonfa at first, but i don't find them quite so bad now Sai are beautifull and i just love em, bf claims i love my sai more than i love him kama were cool, except for one the katas where i kept stabbing myself in the knee i'm learning katana next, w00t, but i still want to learn jo, and naginata, jo for practicality and naginata because it's funky unfortunately there aren't many places round here that'll teach naginata mostly, i just like my weapons training

Kali stick
The patterns you learn with it are amazing- fluid, graceful, yet they can hurt a lot. There's so much to learn with it, and a lot more involved than you'd think. Plus, it has practical use. Chances are, when you're walking down the street, you're not carrying some sort of sword or staff or whatever. Instead, there might be a stick in the street, an umbrella, whatever that you could use. On top of all of this, there's lots of patterns for people to do together, disarms, and flows you can get into.

Wul-do. A polearm like a guandao or pudao. I like it, cause its easy for me to use. Otherwise i'm pretty good with knife fighting....
... but every time i throw them, the handle hits first, no matter what i do. And my knives are very well balanced.
