Hokay, so I was playing Animal Crossing (it was midday to early evening) and it looked like there was a black spider on the ground. I tried to catch it, but it came to me first and the next thing I knew, the screen blacked out and I was in front of my house.
What kind of bug was this? I wanna know it's name so it can become my mortal enemy! >=D
Also, I'm new here. *waves* My AC name is Mei, but you can call me HF (Hydrofluoric Acid), or whatever. x3 I don't have WiFi yet, but I'd like for any of you to stop by my town and say hi once I get one!

I've had this same misadventure the last two nights!
That creature, my friend, was the elusive tarantula. It's counterpart would be the scorpion.
I don't know about you, but that thing has a vendetta against me.
The first time I tried catching it, I missed and it bit me, effectively knocking me out. By now, I was enraged enough to hunt it down for an hour. Upon finding it, I tried sneaking up to it. It spotted me and chased me half an acre, and got me again.
The third time was when I went in Sleep Mode while outside, which I advise you never to do! I opened my DS to a mosquito bite AND the tarantula attack... (Now I'm afraid to play at night... -_-)

So, do the tarantula and scorpions only come out at night? I'm newish to AC: WW, so I'm still trying to figure out everythings patterns.

Yeah, you and I must team up to overthrow the spider/scorpion mob!
Ah... times, right...
For the tarantula and scorpion, they come out at "night" which is between the hours of 19.00-04.00 and from June to August.

Tarantulas & Scorpions do not appear during Wireless/WiFi Sessions.

COOLIO. The thing is don't run from the bug! Pretend that it's not there and walk normally. Well, I actually don't know since i haven't seen either one. That's what the villagers tell though....

...so crazy it just might work.
Actually, now that I think about it, I successfully caught the scorpion after staring it down for a minute. xD It was hilarious, I just stood there, frozen, it was just looking at me, then slowly approached me. And then it hissed at me and I caught it.
So I will definitely try this out, thanks again Demond Piaculum.

I did that, and I caught them both! I saw them in the corner of my screen, stopped, and then ran towards them and caught them. x3 ]
So, plus two for us! Whoo!

To visit other people's towns, do you need WiFi, even if you're in the same room? Or is there a way to do it without WiFi connection?

My brother caught a scorpion!
Add one to our side! ^^
and Kq, when I went to your musuem I spotted the scorpion and it came running at me.
But it was on display.
Prettty scary. o.o

In my other town, I caught both a tarantula and a Scorpion...
Soo...

I caught both my tarantula and my scorpion at about 10 minutes apart on the same night! Lucky me ;3
My scorpion and tarantula never come after me. They're always fighting with each other. o.O
