Yesterday, just for fun, I decided to come up with my own episodes for series 4. I wanted to experiment with something that I felt was never properly touched in the series. Actual historical figures as companions. I always thought it was a cool idea since it was suggested in The Girl in the Fireplace with Madame de Pompadour. Instead of another pretty face, I opted for a historical figure that was more suited to the Doctor's dangerous lifestyle.

Feel free to make your own story arc ideas or just single episodes if you want to. Here's mine, now let's see yours. heart

1) The Source (Part 1) -
The Doctor, still shaken from the events of the Voyage of the Damned, finds himself in Tanzania circa 1858. Together with Richard Francis Burton, they must stop a bloodthirsty cult from resurrecting an ancient and god-like evil sleeping underneath the waters of Lake Tanganyika.

(Notes: First appearance of The Doctor's new companion, Sir Richard Francis Burton.)

2) The Eyes Beneath (Part 2) -
As Uma begins to awaken, its massive telepathic power sweeps across the land, transforming every living creature in its path into brainless slaves to its will, including the Doctor. By taking refuge in the TARDIS, only Richard has escaped from Uma's influence. Can this 19th century explorer out of his element manage to rise up and stop Uma before it consumes the minds of every living being on Earth?

3) Collision -
The Doctor and Richard visit a recently terraformed Mars in the year 4,000 for some much needed rest and relaxation. Instead they find the whole planet in panic as the orbit of Phobos suddenly shifts, sending the Martian moon on a collision course for the planet's surface. What or who is causing Phobos to fall from orbit 50 million years too early and can it be stopped before the impact wipes out all life on the Red Planet?

4) Relativity -
The TARDIS has been remotely hijacked and pulled off course, materializing in the middle of a bizarre and mind-bending labyrinth were the laws of time and space are nearly bent to the breaking point. The only other living soul wondering this maze is a middle-aged and half-insane Dutch man calling himself "Mauk". Can The Doctor and Richard escape this demented and nonsensical world before it completely robs them of their sanity?

(Notes: Special appearance by Dutch artist M.C. Escher.)

5) Behind the Mirror -
Landing in the small village of Davidstow in 1967, The Doctor is shocked to find the entire population has disappeared without a trace. The only person remaining is a 8 year old girl that claims that the one responsible is a monster which lives in her bedroom mirror. In order to save the village of Davidstow, The Doctor must face off against an all too familiar adversary and right a wrong that he had made long ago.

(Notes: Return of Lucy/Sister-of-Mine)

6) The Relic (Part 1) -
Shortly after the discovery of an ancient crashed space ship in the north pole of Apresa Prime, all communication has been severed from the once thriving planet. The Doctor and Richard investigate and find more than they bargained for.

(Notes: Return of the Mondas Cybermen)

7) Silver Planet (Part 2) -
The Doctor and Richard have discovered the small handful of Apresean people still unconverted by the Cybermen. But with the TARDIS in the hands of the Cyber-Controller and the majority of the population converted, escape seems bleak as The Doctor's old enemies prepare to use the newly converted population of Apresa Prime to launch a full scale assault on the universe.

8 ) With These Hands... -
The Doctor receives a call via Martha's super-phone, but to his surprise the call is not from Martha but her sister. Martha has been missing for several weeks. The Doctor returns to London and finds the truth behind Martha's disappearance quite shocking.

(Notes: Martha Jones rejoins the TARDIS crew.)

9) Devil's Advocate -
With Martha back on the TARDIS, the crew find themselves on ancient Skaro. Before the Daleks. Before Davros. Before the devastating centuries long war that led to the creation of the Daleks and turned the Thals into wondering homeless nomads. Trouble is brewing when one of the Kaled's most beloved leaders is murdered. Can the Doctor get to the bottom of this assassination before the growing tension between the Thals and Kaleds explodes into all out war or is Skaro doomed to follow this path to destruction no matter what the Doctor does?

(Notes: Return of the Kaleds and Thals. Brief cameo appearance by the Black Guardian)

10) This'll be the Day that I Die -
Richard comes to The Doctor with a strange request. To see his own funeral. The Doctor reluctantly agrees to do so, but sets several conditions to prevent another paradox incident. Unfortunately, things get complicated when the London police are flooded with reports of the people of Mortlake being visited by their deceased loved ones. What is suddenly causing the dead of Mortlake to return? And is Richard somehow responsible?

11) I, Doctor -
The Doctor receives a cryptic distress signal and follows it to its source. The Doctor finds the source of the signal is an empty debris field located in the constellation of Kasterborous. But things are not wholly as they seem when the Doctor shockingly discovers that this cluster of rocks and dust are actually the remains of his home planet of Gallifrey.

(Notes: Special appearance by Leela)

12) Lucidity (Part 1) -
Richard has been having nightmares since he first boarded the TARDIS. Terrible and vivid nightmares. In his visions, he sees a god dressed in white and a god dressed in black fighting each other for the fate of the universe. When The Doctor is forced to make an emergency landing on an asteroid to make repairs to the TARDIS, the black god from Richard's nightmares begins to whisper to him in the back of his mind. Whispering violent and murderous ideas. Demands for The Doctor's death.

(Notes: Return of the Black Guardian)

13) Yin and Yang (Part 2) -
Now completely under the Black Guardian's mental control, Richard has gone mad and set the TARDIS on a collision course for the galactic core. If the time ship makes it to the core, the resulting explosion will bath the whole galaxy with highly radioactive particles, completely sterilizing every single planet in the Milky Way. Time is running out. The Doctor and Martha have less than hour to stop their now terrifyingly powerful companion and regain control of the TARDIS... even if it means killing Richard and sacrificing Earth to the Reapers...

(End of Series 4)

Comments and criticisms would be appreciated. 3nodding

Those are awsome! I have one.

All knowing, all seeing.
The Doctor lands in london after several misadventures, and explores around to find nothing to do. When he returns to the TARDIS, he meets a teenage girl, who claims to know the Doctor. She is actualy a girl from a dimention where the Doctor is the main characture on a wildly popular T.V. show Doctor Who. This girl knows more about the Doctor than anyone in the universe, but that information becomes a temptation to a gathering force. Now the Doctor has the enemy at his heels and one teenager with the power to rewrite history as we know it.

I have to jump in on this.

Series plot:

The Doctor is drawn back to London by a mysterious distress call on his psychic paper. He arrives in time to see that Aliens are once again attacking the city. This time however, they are not tying to destroy it. Instead they are looking for an American named Megan. When the Doctor discovers this he tries to help save the woman but his plans are foiled when the Aliens attack Megan. Seeing that they will be unable to kidnap Megan, they then decide that the best course of action is to kill her, her husband and two children. Megan and her family are almost saved by the Doctor. Something goes wrong though and her husband and two children are killed. Megan in her desperation to find out why her family was killed and why they aliens wanted her, begs the Doctor to let her come with him. So she can find the killers after they leave earth.

The clues for this season will be about Megan's past. She is hiding the fact that she is a very special person to the Aliens. They want her dead because she is like the Doctor the last of her race.

Meh, with the exception of some villains, I'm not so keen on anyone except for The Doctor having Time Lord blood. It might work though.

I am not sure right now. I am kind of leaning towards her either being the daughter of a rebel leader that would rally the rebels to fight against the aliens or making her the only thing that can actually destroy the aliens. Leaning more towards the last one, though.

I made up a scene where she is holding a sword to the alien who killed her family and the Doctor is telling her that revenge is not worth it. She shouldn't kill the alien. Megan turns and looks at him saying how he is right revenge is not worth it and that she knows she will regret killing the alien. Then she spins around and slices off the alien's head. She turns back to the Doctor saying "I will probably regret that tomorrow but right now I don't" and she walks off.

So, she's a bit like Turlough in the fact that she's a human like alien living on Earth?

Yeah except she really doesn't know she's an alien. She learns it along with her past as the show goes along.

I really should make this into a fan fiction. I think I could make it into something pretty intrestin.

This is actually a fanfic that I'm writing with the Tenth Doctor and Rose, but I've got stuck. Ideas will be greatly appreciated...

The Maidens of Morozmir (Part One)

The Doctor and new companion Laura Fox land on the ice planet Morozmir (extra info: translates as Frost World in Russian) to find that people are visiting Holodna Palace (extra info: Holodna is Russian for Cold) and being tortured and turned into ice sculptures. They meet a young woman, Holly, whose brother Rowan is one of the victims. Holly witnessed Rowan's demise and only just escaped herself. She enlists the Doctor and Laura's help, but they are separated by an earthquake caused by the Maidens, during which the Doctor falls into the crevasse and both Laura and Holly are convinced he's been killed.

(Part Two)

Laura is reeling from witnessing what happened to the Doctor, but is determined to go back and find him. The Doctor, meanwhile, has been captured by the Maidens. The chief Maiden, Arielle, examines him and discovers...

And now I need your help! lol

OMG You're all sooo clever, I wish I could come up with stuff like this. HappyBanana you are incredible!

Or another one...

White Light (Part One)

The Doctor and Laura (see above) are transported to a strange world. The rulers of this world have taken over by force and the mark of their power is to drain all colour from the landscape and people. Only problem is, by doing so, the victims are unconscious to the evil they are doing at their rulers' bidding. They are destroying the world by polluting it to within an inch of its life, and the Doctor and Laura have to stop them. Laura befriends a young man, Ash, while the Doctor tries to work out how the rulers are controlling the population. While looking through a morgue-like room of pods, sonicking them open as he goes, the Doctor makes a horrible discovery...

Hidden Rainbow (Part Two)

The Doctor is on his own now as Laura has fallen victim to the rulers. He not only has to save the world, he has to save Laura too. Will he be able to discover the hidden rainbow in this world and bring colour back? He needs to use all his wits and tricks, and it won't be easy...

Aww, thank you! I actually started off with one idea. I wanted to see the Doctor team up with Richard Burton in a semi historical adventure. But then I thought, wouldn't be cool if Sir Richard Burton stayed as a companion? Personally, I would love to see an actual historical figure as a companion. I loved the idea since they first mentioned it in the Girl in the Fireplace with Madame de Pompadour and I love the idea now. If I would have to choose, I'd pick Richard Burton, the great 19th century British exploror. Translator of the Arabian nights, discoverer of the source of the Nile, first european to EVER enter Mecca.

If anyone is suited to the Doctor's dangerous lifestyle, it would be him.

So I came up with another adventure with The Doctor and Richard, then another, then another. Soon I had a whole season on my hands. So, I figured, since have a whole season, I should bring back a classic baddie. How do you top the Master? How about an actual GOD that the Doctor pissed off. So, I decided to make the Black Guardian the main bad guy for my fan-season.

I'm glad you like it. heart
