She had never seen such a heavily wooded area. Coming from the mountains where the only trees were either spread out sparsley or in little clumps, to see so many trees congregated in one area was quite the sight to see. One could barely see the sky through the canopy of leaves, but the light that did shine through was obvious in the darker parts. It came down in a stream, and the arctic mare made sure to keep flickering her gaze upwards so she could tell where the next opening would be.
The blue an white colored mare had told herself she'd venture around this region and remember it, so she wouldn't get lost. She had gone by the lake and by a few streams and had been through a clearing. She'd ehard of the desert, but that would mean going through the mountains, which is where she was sure she had hailed from. So her next option had been the forest, despite the warnings she had heard about staying closer to clearings. The mare, Cosette, had been told about the "darker" kinds of Soquili, and she was rather curious about where they were. But now in the forest walking on a very faded pathway formed by other critters, she was beginning to think about how easy it would be to hide here and attack unsuspecting prey.
But all these trees had to be a double-edged sword, right? If someone could hide here with ease, so could she! ... Even though with her white coat she stood out like a sore thumb. But if there really were such dangerous ones here that really hunted other Soquili, they would've popped out already, right? Telling herself there, Cosette released a sigh of relief. She doubted anyone else would be stumbling through the forest this early in the morning. It was dead quiet, except for the leaves crunching under her hooves.

Rhapsody walked nonchalantly through the forest. It had been a while since he had been this deep in it but it was rather calming all the same. The close knit of trees was excellent cover when you wanted to be alone with your thoughts. He used to come here often when he was a younger stallion trying to hide his ugliness and keep from being seen. That was until his adopted sister had told him he needed to get out.
He had spent the past few days walking about with no intentions of meeting new faces but had none the less. Oh well, he was doing what she said he should so there wasn't anything wrond with that. Plus, since his father had found a new love, Rhapsody was beginning to rethink things.
Sighing the pink stallion continued on wrapped up in his thoughts.

Cosette paused in her walk, looking up at the sky once more. She was beginning to rethink this little stroll of hers which had turned into quite the little adventure. She was quite fond of adventuring, but she hadn't been in such a dark place before... Even though it was oddly welcoming.
Her ears perked at the sound of... Walking? Lowering her head, her red eyes glanced about. She lifted her white hooves carefully, attempting to be as quiet as she could. If there was a "dangerous" Soquili around, she wouldn't want to get in it's way. Or at least the smarter part of her mind said. The more "lemme at 'em'" part kind of wanted to run into such an encounter. Usually, the latter won. But even if it was a normal Soquili, that would be fine. At that moment, Cosette desired company.
So continuing her walk, she opened her mouth hesitantly, "Hello?" She said quietly, almost afraid to break the reigning silence.

Rhapsody's ears perked at the sound of someone's voice. He hadn't noticed that anyone was here with him and wasn't going to pay any attention now except the voice sounded almost...afraid.
Now why would anyone venture into the deep forest if they were afriad? That was the stupidest thing to do. Anything could smell the fear and then come after you. Shaking his head, Rhapsody decided he might as well go and find whoever it was and escort them out before they got themselves in trouble.
"Hello? Whoever you are stay put and I will come get you." he called, turning to head in the direction her thought the voice was coming from.

Cosette, an adventurer at heart, would deny being afraid. She had simply ventured into the woods as to cover more ground and expand the little knowledge she retained about the lands beyond the mountains. However, just because she hadn't roamed in certain places didn't necessarily mean she had too, and Cosette mentally kicked herself for that. She wasn't all that freaked out, but she would like to know who else was walking, and if they were just another Soquili traveling.
At the voice, a smile tugged at Cosette's lips. Whoever it was wasn't all that bad, but she'd keep her guard up. However, the idea of staying put did not sit well with the arctic mare, and she sighed audibly, "Just uh, keep following me voice? You can't miss me." She nearly giggled, swallowing the little sniggers. She knew she stood out like a sore thumb with her chilly colors. White wasn't necessarily the best camo color in the woods.

Rhapsody gave a slight smile. So they were going to keep talking? Must not be that scared of running into him if they replied. Though they had no reason to be afriad of him if they ran into him anywhere, here or out in the meadow. Unless pink scared them.
"Alright then. Who's the owner of the voice that I be following and are you friend or foe?" he called out trying to keep a conversation going until he could locate them. He did wonder though what stood out that made them stand out so much as for him not to miss them.

Cosette was beginning to feel less creeped out by her surroundings, as she felt another giggle come up in her throa. She assumed whoever was talking back to her was not a foe. She hoofed at the ground with her right, white front hoof as she replied, "This voice belongs to Cosette. Your following the voice of a strangeeeer!" She started laughing during her words, shaking her head to ward off the giggles. She didn't wnat to scare away potential company.
"I'm a friend, no doubt," She assured, tossing her white mane, red eyes scanning her surroundings. The arctic mare wondered if the voice belonged to a darker Soquili, and maybe they mixed into her surroundings. That made her stop giggling, as that didn't sound very pleasant. "Who am I speaking too?"

Rhapsody shook his head. Atleast she wasn't thinking about being out here alone anymore and was actually giggling. But he didn't understand what was so funny that she would giggle. Surely he wasn't being all that funny. He was trying to be serious about the situation. "They call me Rhapsody. It is a pleasure to talk to you, Cosette." he replied back. It was only proper to give her his name since she gave him hers.
"I knew you were a stranger otherwise I would not have asked your name. Now what should I be looking for to find you? Is there anything specific about yourself that is easy to see?" he called out. He could vaguely see something rather white in the distance but it could just be the light playing tricks through the trees.

"Pleasure to talk to you too, Rhapsody." She called back, trying to sound less giggley. She was sure her bright white would've claimed some attention, a reason for her giggles, but they hadn't seemed too. Stepping out and away from a tree, she assumed that maybe that would help? His tone, she guessed he didn't understand her laughing and cleared her throat. He was coming to look for her and she almost treated it like a joke. But still, it calmed her nerves a bit.
What if it were a big scary kalona or skinwalker like Vodka had said just talking his way nicely? She tried to ward off the thought.
At his next question, Cosette glanced at herself. Mm, well, she was blatantly white. "I'm well, as white as white can be," She replied, nodding as she flicked her tail. She paused momentarily, eyes scrutinizing her surroundings. Hey, now what did he look like...?
"Yourself?"

White? She was white? That helped a little bit but not too much. Atleast he would be looking harder for her now and he hoped that she wasn't too near light that could possibly hide her. It was easy enough though to spot her now he knew what he was looking for.
"I'm as pink as a rose. Though for a stallion, the color does not suit me well. Atleast I don't think so." he replied rather suprised that he actually told her what color he was. Though he was trying to find her and help, so it was only natural for him to tell her what he looked like.
