Ok, just making it. I guess in a few weeks, most of the discussion threads will be cleared and replaced with a series 3 discussion, series 4 speculation etc. etc. Hopefully anyway biggrin So, The Christmas Special! All sorts of NEW speculation with that ending!!! I mean, Ice Burg, Titanic, Kylie Minogue, ICE WARRIORS! Yep, that's the latest speculation! It was theorized that the Ice Warriors will be coming back in Series 3, but, the special is Episode 4x I think, I'm pretty sure. So, because it's 4x, that rumour was false, but they were a very good race, and with today's Prosthetic Technology, they would look even better! Here's a quote wink Quote: Speculation has already ensued as to what and who can be expected in the special, and with potential Iceburgs, the old Ice Warrior rumours have resurfaced. Could we all be hearing the line: "Ice Warrior's, dead ahead"? Well... maybe not, but perhaps the rumours surrounding Kylie Minogue appearing in the special, may have some truth. You probably can't see this thread under the sea of others, but it's here xd Also, a press release on Monday (6th Form Induction Day for me heart ) will reveal something about Martha, maybe about others too biggrin

Kylie Confirmed for Christmas! Quote: The BBC has confirmed that Kylie will be joining the Doctor Who cast in a major lead role in an hour long Christmas special to be broadcast in December 2007! Kylie will be joining David Tennant for the episode, Voyage Of The Damned. The production team has also confirmed that the storyline will follow on directly from the ending of series three where viewers witnessed The Titanic crash through the Tardis walls... The episode has been written by Doctor Who's executive producer and head writer Russell T Davies who comments: "We are delighted and excited to announce that Kylie Minogue will be joining the Doctor. Doctor Who Xmas specials are always a joy and we feel very confident that this will be the most ambitious and best Christmas episode yet." Kylie said: "It is an incredible thrill to be joining David and the entire Dr Who production for this year's Christmas speical. Dr Who enjoys a unique history and it is going to be very exciting to be a part of that." Stay tuned to Kylie.com for more news as we get it!

Another star, nothing much else sad Quote: Clive Swift has been cast in the forthcoming episode Voyage of the Damned, the 2007 Doctor Who Christmas special due in December, according to a report in the Jewish Telegraph. Swift is no stranger to Doctor Who -- he played Jobel in the 1985 serial Revelation of the Daleks starring Colin Baker. He is most famous, however, for the role of 'Richard Bucket' (pronounced "Bouquet," a long running gag), the hen-pecked husband of Patricia Routledge's 'Hyacinth' in the BBC TV comedy Keeping Up Appearances. In the Telegraph piece, Swift says of his Christmas special character: "It's a lovely part and I'll be working with Kylie Minogue, who I was introduced to at the read-through, and David Tennant who is a terrific actor." Swift also appeared in the BBC TV drama Born and Bred, which ran from 2002 to 2004 and was created by Chris Chibnall, the co-producer of Torchwood. Chibnall was consulting/executive producer of Born and Bred, which also ranked Phil Collinson among its producers. (Thanks to Neil Marsh and GracieLizzie.)

Another casting update! This time about the Captain (apparantly) of the Titanic biggrin Quote: The Sun has reported today that Geoffrey Palmer has been lined up to guest star in the 2007 Christmas special, Voyage of the Damned. It reports that he will be playing the Captain of the Titanic, although it is unclear whether this character is based on the real Captain of the liner, Edward Smith. Geoffrey Palmer is best known for his roles in the comedy series As Time Goes By and Butterflies, as well as his appearances in a variety of films, including Mrs Brown, The Madness of King George and Tomorrow Never Dies. He has previously made two appearances in Doctor Who in the Jon Pertwee stories Doctor Who and the Silurians and The Mutants.

I thought it made sense to post this here, rather than make a thread in off topic. Here's a quote sad Quote: syfyportal.com, citing the Paisley Daily Express, reports that filming of "Voyage of the Damned" will be delayed this weekend so David Tennant can attend his mother's funeral. Tennant's mother, Helen McDonald, died on Sunday, July 15th after a long battle with cancer. She was 67, and was a founding member of Paisley's ACCORD Hospice, where she spent her final days. The funeral will take place at Renfrew North with the Very Rev. James Simpson -- a chaplain to Queen Elizabeth II -- officiating. Filming is expected to resume next week for the Christmas special which will premiere on Dec. 25 on BBC One. The fourth season of "Doctor Who" will air in early 2008, with the third season currently airing Friday nights in the United States on SciFi Channel. May Tennant's grieving be swift and his acting return to full force! Most people get over a week off when a relative dies don't they?

A Funny little thing, not very informative, but funny razz Quote: A pensioner thought Kylie Minogue was a waitress during filming for the Doctor Who Christmas special, reports BBC News today. Minogue plays the role of Titanic waitress Astrid in Voyage of the Damned, and while filming outside Morgan's hotel in Swansea, an elderly customer confused the singer for a member of staff. An eyewitness said: "It was absolutely comical. Kylie is an international star but obviously this old dear didn't know who she was. "She said to Kylie: 'Excuse me, love, is it too late for a cup of tea?' "Kylie saw the funny side and just laughed." FOOTNOTE: The Sun reported today that Minogue had been comforting David Tennant over the death of his mother from cancer.

APPARENTLY, Kylie Minogue (Astrid) wants to become a series regular, so it could happen in the series after next, maybe xd If the main people want her to. Donna was just a Christmas Special character too after all ...

The enemy (or maybe just one of them) from the Christmas Special this year is none other than - The Axons! We think ... the picture looks like Axons anyways xd The human-form Axons, not Tentacle-Form Axons xd
