___Art Freebie Land Well the art contest went over quite well. I think it's time to start thinking up some more contests Please POST IN THIS THREAD your ideas. I've gotten a few ideas already, but we need your support.

~Ideas~ Akiralta If the guild ever needed money for something, we could do a guild auction... Like, the whole guild. xp
Although that would take a lot of organization... And seeing as you just finished an auction, Pheregames, you probably dont' want to do another anytime soon.
Maybe a guild project or something? Like the 100 themes challenge, only different somehow...
I don't know. I'm really running out of ideas... I'm far too tired. Pheregames A guild ball. Either inside or outside the guild. To make money for the guild, we could open up a few shops, maybe sell those flobs that are becomeing commonplace in threads. Prizes to guild members of course. 3nodding

Well, being an writer and not an artist, I think it would be nifty if there could be a contest in which an artist and a writer team up to either do a comic, or a story based off of one of the artist's drawing.
A few rules for this:
1. You can't be both the artist and writer.
2. 50-500 gold entry fee to get a prize pool for both members.
3. (Submit your own rules, cause I can't think of anymore.

That would be good... but this is an artist Geared Guild. Our artist listing is large compared to our writers... so it would be a bit hard to pair up...
But I understand where you're going.

I like the ideas so far, it maybe a bit hard to get the entire guild involved since a lot of our members are sporadic. No matter what the final decision may boil down to, you know I am with ya'll on it.
I think the auction idea may work if we can get enough people. We have some amazing artists, so it just depends on people schedules.
Also you may want to get a "mule" account so people can send donations to, which could later be used as prizes.
Maybe tektek or avi contests, they always seem to be popular. I know a whole guild that was based off of just themed avi contest, the winner could get art from certain people chosen or the guild mods. Okay I think I might hurt myself if I try to think any longer this evening.

What if, ever month-two months, a higher up picked a theme, such as, I dunno, Wedding, Night, Sun, etc. and people could make their interpretation of that. There doesn't even necessarily need to be a prize. Just more for inspiring artists/writers/photographers/graphics people. 3nodding

We should have a big art guild auction and the people who sign up to be in it auction off there art to raise money for the guild.

So if we get enough sign ups, the guild auction would be great. I've coordenated an auction before, it's not really that hard. I'm fine with sending out PMs useing the FRIEND system [where you can send multiple PMs if they are are on your friend's list] Or even set up a GUILD EVENT fourm. I mean we have so much gold that we can only use to set up sub-fourms with.. xd
It would be great to have a mule that the crew can access, so I'll talk with NuL and see if we can make one.
And.. I can't draw too well, so I doubt you would want art from me sweatdrop

I like the ideas of a monthly theme - maybe on special occasions with prizes - like christmas and easter and such xD
and i love the idea of avatar contests
maybe we should have a collab thing too a collab contest where people submit line arts various ones and people vote on the best one [ maybe outside the guild to stop people voting on their own work ] or the crew decides C:
and then we have a time limit for people to colour the said lineart and again the crew or outsiders choose or even both the best one and the persons wins something or other xD

So... like people enter in teams, a line-artist and a colorist? I don't fully understand the Collab part.
I wonder... If I do the times, do you think we could host a drawing board? I know that with OC [a VERY small file] and Hamachi [a Free Download; small file as well] we can all network. So we really could have a Guild Collab. 3nodding
Let's say we vote and debate on the 15th.

Yeah, like people submit various line art - people vote to select ONE [maybe even 2] line art/s the whole guild could try colouring.
Then members try colouring the 'winning' line art/s and people can vote on the best coloured one.
If that makes any more sense - im so rubbish at explaining things
but a drawing board sounds like a brilliant idea C:
that would be so groovy!

Just to clarify Sui's idea on the off chance it was misunderstood the second time:
It would be a two part competition.
The first part would have people only submit black and white unshaded stuff.
The piece that wins that part of the contest then has to be coloured by everyone. The best colour version of the first winner's line art wins.
Also, someone mentioned an art challenge. How about we find one of those 100 art challenge lists that are so popular nowadays and the guild as a whole has to try and finish it? IE: Make a thread for it that has the list, then everyone who wants to join picks one art topic from the list that hasn't already been picked and has to draw it. When they finish that piece they get to pick another topic that hasn't been done by anyone else... reckon we could get the full challenge done pretty quick!

Well, I think the 100 theme thing wouldn't really be a way to award users with prizes and things, and I wanted to do more of an event. Regardlessly, we can do the 100 themes. There are a lot of lists, so if you wanted to make sure that you got a theme in there, say something. We really should make a custom list. 3nodding

I think a large, community sized project would be cool. Maybe something like everyone has an inch by inch square and put them all together. Or a lotto type of art trade thing. I really don't know, just throwing some ideas out.
