I'm not certain if they're real or not. Personally, I do not believe that they are. I have to go with science here, and state that it is physically impossible for a person to actually change into another species. (i think a little bit of Lord Jagged is rubbing off on me--the skeptical bit.) However, the idea is rather fascinating.

However, the idea is rather fascinating. actually, many OLDER myths say there is no PHYSICAL change... they just begin to act like wolves. (Such fun w/ the shift key!)

Yeah like that, in another book I've read it says that it's just a person in a wolf's skin acting like a mean wolf.

I don't know about werewolves but there is Lythanopy...(sp?) That someone thinks they are a werewolf... because of many reason e.x.-Loves the moon, is a bit hairy(or really hairy) and/or has memory elapses

mcr goth I saw a programme about this guy and he was completely covered in hair, he was called wolfman in a circus, does that count? There is a medical problem that means that a person has complete cover wth body hair. I'm not sure what it is called though.

I believe in the were, but not the wolfism. The moon exerts great power over Earth, but not quite the type to cause man to become beast.
