Peri stared at the board for a long moment. He'd written "intelligent", "worshiped", and "earth-based" on the chalkboard. Now all he had to do was wait for his student to arrive.

Xiao was actually more excited then Lian about the class! She was nudging at and nibbling along his arm as they flew/walked along. Her claws flexed briefly, twirling in the air and she burst through the door well before her Boy. Lian, looking amused, followed shortly after. He had a skateboard tucked under his arm and, in the summer heat, was wearing just a pair of flip flops and skater shorts.
"Hey." His greeting was casual, hand raising in greeting. "So, uhm, you're supposed to tell me about Xiao, right? She likes twirling in the air?"
Xiao trilled out a laugh, twisting to and fro to curl up around Peri. Waha. The dragon man. You should remind him how lovely I am. She informed him, although he was well aware that he probably culdn't understand.

Peri smiled at the boy, nodding in response to Lian's question. I have got to learn Draconic, the man reminded himself as the Asian Lung twisted about in the air around him. At least she was a happy dragon, or seemed to be one.
"To start the class off, do you have any questions about your dragon?"

"How big will she get?" Lian grinned, watching the twirling and twisting of his little friend around the teacher. "I mean, she's already big but she'll be growing more and..." He shrugs a bit. "Do you know how he flies? How do we know Xiao's a girl?"
Because they told you and I'm lovely. The rude noise that left her mouth with those 'words' at Lians question made the red panda jump, his face coloring slightly.
"...okay, so she's a girl. I... I mean. What do people usually ask?"

"Asian lungs get to be around 40 feet long," Peri said, in answer to the first question. "And as for how she flies, I'm not really sure if anyone knows. All of the Asian lungs can do that... My guess is that it's a sort of latent magic ability, which could explain why they can do it before they learn how to perform spells and such." Peri shrugged.
The man grinned at the boy's last question, though. "Anything and everything, really... I've had quite the range of questions..."

"Oh." He stared over at Xiao, eyebrows arching and his lips pursed. Well. What to... "What will she be able to do? She can fly but... It's not all she can do, right? Ithink?"
Lian hesitated, shifting slightly. "And there are other kind of lungs too, yeah? What did you mean by worshipped?"

"Well, like the other dragons, she'll be able to use a breath weapon and learn to cast spells." Peri smiled, nodding. "Yes, there are three other lungs. Each represent a different element. She represents earth. There's one for fire, air, and water as well."
The man glanced up at the board. "Oh. What I meant was the difference between European dragons and Asian dragons. Europeans are always portrayed in stories as being evil and hunted down while Asian cultures worshiped the dragons instead, recognizing their intelligence."

Oh, Peri. Xiao preened at his words, trilling low under her breath, shifting to rest her large skull on his shoulder. What a smart, sweet teacher man he was, yes! He would teach her little mortal well. She was intelligent. Yes. yes she was. And he knew it.
Lian grinned at his dragon. Her ego was growing with the words... She'd be hard to deal with, for a little while. "She is smart," He agrees finally, tucking one hand into his pants pocket. "What kind of breath weapon? I didn't know about that."

Peri eyed the hovering Asian lung. "Hmm... she's earth-based, so lightning. All dragons have a breath weapon of some sort or another. She'll be able to use it when she gets a bit older. I teach a class on focusing breath weapons. It's a lot like your skills classes."

Xiao peered back at the non-hovering Dragon man, her lips peeling back to reveal her teeth in an odd sort of dragon grin. Her serpentine body remained still for once, the tip of her tail twitching gently.
"Lightening?" Lian appeared a little surprised, giving his dragon a curious look. "Like a Pokemon type of lightening blast?" Another rude noise left the female and Lian grinned. "So she'll take your class when she's old enough?"

Peri wasn't exactly sure what Pokemon was, but he gave a shrug. "It's... a sort of line effect. Basically a long line of lightning shoots from their mouth." He stepped back towards familiar territory. "Yes. Once she gets a bit older, there's several classes for her to take to help her learn various things about herself."

"Oh." The furry thing peered at his airborne friend, lips curling into another grin. "That's cool." He agreed, raising his hand and flicking his finger a bit. Immediately, Xiao purred and went to him, wrapping herself around the length of his body like a slinkie. Or she tried. It was a bit lopsided.
Lian laughed, pushing her back into a straight line gently, and gave Peri a crooked grin. "ANything else I should know?"
