 He had awoken to a beautiful morning; a beautiful morning in which everything was perfect... Everything except for the fact that he now had to wait for the Lady that he had been asked to provide escort for to finish primping before they could be on their way.
He had been waiting... At least ten minutes now if not longer and he was begining to get anxious. They had been in one spot for far too long and, somewhere out there, was a green pasture with their name on it... And perhaps an orchard nearby with some apples. Apples would be delightful.

Okay... so you soooo did not give me the link to this. XD;;;;
Silly impatient stallion.
Lady smiled to herself as she attempted to put her hair in order. She was sure it had gotten a bit messy after all that beauty sleep she had managed to get the night before. Now, if only she could see if her crown was on properly. Having no reflection to look at was a real irritation, but that was another thing escorts were good for.
"Teli, dear, is my crown on straight?" She asked, making her way towards the muscled unicorn. He was a good companion to keep around, and Lady had no qualms with having a guard-like stallion by her side.
For as long as she could recall, she and Teli had roamed together. Just how they have come to meet each other, she could faintly recall, but they were perfectly content with meeting each others needs. She, as dainty and regal as she was, needed someone to protect her, and Teli, as brutish and knightly as he was, needed someone to escort. So voila, perfect!
One gold tipped wing continued to fuss with her hair as she looked at him with her dark golden eyes. Stallions simply didn't understand the importance of looking beautiful as well as acting the part.

Sighing he turned to look at the mare, tail flickering behind him as he eyed her up and down only to let his eyes linger on her crown. "It's as straight as you're going to get it while fussing with your hair like you are." He snorted softly as he shook his head before turning away from her. They couldn't just stay in one place. They had to keep moving, as always.
"Breakfast this morning is whatever we can find while moving. It would be nice if, for a change, you could use that nose of yours for something other than snorting at me... I would not mind some berries or an apple or two and something other than grass would have to do something to improve your disposition, Lady."

"Teliiiiiiiiii," she whined, knowing full well that the nickname irritated him, "Why must we always move, again? It'd be nice to stay in the same place for a change."
The mare knew the argument was pointless; it was one they had had many times before. It was fun, though, bringing up subjects she knew would get on his nerve. After all, who would try to rush beauty? Especially one as beautiful as herself. Why, he was lucky, if anything, to have her around!
She giggled softly to herself at the pun she made in her mind.
"Fresh apples do sound nice, though... " she agreed, glancing around at their surroundings with her soft golden eyes. "Do you recall seeing any apple trees nearby, Teli, dear?"
One wing lifted itself up, ready to hop off into the sky for a bird's eye view, but it quickly returned to the comfort of resting against the mare's side. No sense in wasting energy, when one had an escort to do all the scavenging for her.

"We move because we have not yet found the right place to stop." He snorted softly, giving his head a light toss. "How many times must I tell you this, Lady? I understand that mares such as yourself have little use for brains, as they only interfere with your beauty, but putting a point or two in memory couldn't possibly hurt, could it?" Of course it could... Thinking caused wrinkles.
He was about to continue when a flash of color streaked past him before quickly zooming around. He smirked as he looked towards Lady Luck. Things were about to get interesting... Or, at least, slightly more entertaining.
"Teelliii! I found you again!" She chirped happily as she fluttered beside him long enough to touch the tip of her tiny muzzle against his large one before turning to look. "Who's that?" Not as if it mattered... She would greet them properly as well...
Or, rather, she would have had the glisten of something not caught her eye. Not waiting for a response from the large stallion she sped towards the source of the shine, eyes wide as she found herself landing in the center of a circle of gold. "Ooooh. Nicey nice. Very nice. Shiney sparkles, Teli. Can Tapanga keep?"

How utterly rude!
She had opened her mouth to reply to the less-than-witty comment Teli had directed towards her (yes, even beautiful mares used their brains more than once in a while!), when that... thing had come out of nowhere and had rudely interrupted their conversation. Even worse than that, when the little bug had finished talking to Teli, it had the audacity to approach her, and even muss up her hair!
"Get off you wretched little gnat!" she screeched, attempting to toss her head about, careful not to send her precious pretty crown from sailing off. "No you may not keep it, it's MINE!"

His brow lofted in amusement. Much amusement. So much that he could have laughed... Would have laughed had he been in the mood to find himself kicked soundly by a huffy, highstrung mare that had just had her hair mussed.
"I... Will bow out, as any gentleman should, and leave you two ladies to your discussion." He lowered his head before slowly backing away from the two, certain to keep his eyes on them. He had every intention to laugh as hard as he could the moment he was out of earshot.
"Tapanga not gnat!" She snorted softly as she grasped a mouthful of Lady Luck's hair, giving it a light tug. She was mean. Not nice. Loud, mouthy mare. "Can share!"

"Teli, you get back here THIS INSTANT." Lady screamed at the unicorn, watching as he attempted to excuse himself from the situation. One gold tipped wing moved up to attempt to flick the little brown bug away. "Ow ow ow OWWW!"
She growled and attempted to swat at the bug once again, "You are NOT to eat my hair!!" she hollered up at the tiny mare, who seemingly had grown to have a taste for beautiful mare hair, "Teli, I thought you were supposed to be protecting me, not leaving me to defend myself from horrid little creatures trying to steal my things!"

"Lady, there is nothing in this immediate area for me to be protecting you from. Tapanga is a friend." He used the term loosely, of course, finding the petite mare nearly as obnoxious as he found the winged fury currently throwing herself a proper fit. She was useful though, in her own ways... When her attention span alloted time for her to be so.
She let out an indignant squeak as she was brushed aside by a wash of fluffy white and... Gold. Her eyes glittered as she was distracted from the shiney atop the mare's head, quickly fluttering down to pluck a small feather from her with the next swipe of wing. HA! She had her own shiney now. "Mine."

"Why you little...."
Pausing from the bug swatting, Lady turned and stomped her gold and red checked hooves over to the larger unicorn and gave him a prompt whack on the head with one of her wings. "Harassment! How can she be a friend when all she is is a little harassment?!"
It was then that she noticed the little nuisance had managed to nab one of her feathers, and her attention turned elsewhere. "What in heaven's name do you think you're doing with that?!"

"She is..." He tilted his head slightly, trying to come up with a proper 'excuse' to toss at the disgruntled mare. "... Admiring your peerless beauty in her own special way. Consider it a high honor, Lady."
She chewed lightly on the end of the feather before turning her head to stick it into her mane, hoping that it would get caught like all of the other feathers and shiney things already there. "Tapanga's pretty shiney." She let her wings twitter as she flew closer to the other mare again. "Share, yes?"
