Unfortunately, yes, it is still sinful. The Lord said to run from anything that entices the flesh, meaning also lust. If anime entices lust, than it is sinful.

Lust=Sin.
Sin= sadness.

Personally I have neither seen any hentai, nor do I wish to.
However, I have to say...between couples that are married, would regular pornography be considered okay?
I mean, hey. It gets those two going. [Apologies for being blunt.]
And they're married and heterosexual. If it were within those boundaries, would it be okay?
And if yes is the case, then I'd say only under those conditions.
[And besides, really, I don't see anything wrong with two heterosexual adults who are married look at porn together because it turns them both on and they have children later on. They enjoy the gift God gave them, just with a bit of help. Correct me if I'm wrong. Just an opinion.]
