Mitsuko's Clothing + Hair (Or how the hair looks, until the next post. XD)

Mitsuko had pranced around the school, handing random Ouran students invitations to her birthday party. Though her birthday had been a little more than a week ago, she had still wanted to hold a party of sorts, in hopes of allowing everyone to meet and get more comfortable with each other. That and, of course, she wanted to make new friends.

The large ship was like a mini cruise ship. It contained two bedrooms, neither of which Mitsuko assumed would be used for her party, unless someone was feeling unwell. There was also a kitchen, a large dining area, something that resembled an on-boat living room with a TV and couchs, as well as a music room, in which had been put there by request of Mitsuko. She was aware that some students had love for music, and she herself enjoyed to sing and play a little piano, so it seemed like a good thing to add. And in one of the bedrooms...

"It's a casual dressed party, Aya-chan! CASUAL!"

Mitsuko's voice could be heard from outside the ship. She sat in one of the rooms, struggling as one of her maids ran a brush through the girl's hair, before starting to style it up into, what Mitsuko considered, a not very 'casual' hairstyle. "No! My hair is fine down!" The girl flailed, trying not to wince as her maid tugged at her hair so that not a strand was out of place.

"But your parents requested you look your best before the other Ouran students." Aya replied, calmly. "And please hold still, Miss Mitsuko. It was only hurt more if you keep struggling like that." Sighing, Mitsuko sat still, but opened her mouth again to protest, when Aya interupted her. "We've already allowed you to wear what you want," The older girl pointed out, motioning towards Mitsuko's clothing. Due to the fact her parents wanted her to make a good impression on the other students, she had almost been forced to wear something that resembled a wedding dress but, to her relief, she had talked them into letting her, as well as those coming, where whatever they felt like. The last thing she wanted was for her friends and classmates to feel uncomfortable because they were forced to wear something they didn't want to.

"...I guess." The girl muttered after a moment of silence, with a dramatic sigh. She didn't like having her hair up like this though. It was...uncomfortable, and really, she didn't think her peers would judge her just because of her hair style (as long as it wasn't like a bird's nest, that is). Muttering and grumbling to herself, she glanced at a clock on the wall, and then out the window. "Shouldn't we open the door soon?" Mitsuko asked, as Aya clipped a small flower clip, a lovely little thing given to her by the maids, into her hair.

"We might as wait until someone comes first. We'll open it once we hear someone knock." Then, the older girl stood up, and sighed. "All done, Miss Mitsuko. I'm going to the kitchen to help the others with the food."

Mitsuko rose as she started to the door, frowning into the mirror and tugging at her hair. "I'll be there to help you in a moment." She called after the maid, before staring into the mirror. "Hhm...mother and father wanted me to wear my hair up like this, but..." A grin, "Mother and father aren't here, are they?"

Minori stared at the pink invitation, crossing her legs in the limo, leaning against the plush seat. That was cool. A birthday party in a ship! She had gasped when she had first saw it, being used to the 'commoner' life. Still, a normal birthday party had been fun, being surrounded by all your friends and doing stupid things. Which, she couldn't possibly do from now.

Her mother had forced her to wear something formal, a black dress and practically shoved her into a hair-dressing salon. However, Minori countered it with throwing a white sweater over it. She hoped, she had looked more casual. Clutching a light-blue purse and a wrapped present, she stepped out, staring up at the ship. Showing her invitation to the guards, she was let in. She must be the first one.

"Mitsuko?"

Takumi yawned lazily as he flipped the invitation open to read its contents once more. He ran a hand through his hair and glanced at the wrapped box resting on the seat next to him before alerting his driver to change course. "I've just remembered," he said, "There's a party by the beach this evening. My schedule's free today, is it alright if you drop me off there?"

"Of course, Master Takumi," his chauffeur replied, swerving the limo around and heading towards the dock. Takumi tried his best to clean himself up. I hope Mitsuko doesn't mind that I'm not in a tuxedo or anything, he thought. He rummaged around the back seat before extracting a pair of green tinted sunglasses. This should brighten up my appearance. I've been wearing too many dark clothes nowadays. Slipping them on his head, he settled back and turned his attention out the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of a cruise ship.

Tugging at her hair in an attempt to free her hair from the many pins, Mitsuko took a stroll around the ship, making sure everything was nice and perfect. Walking onto the deck, she grinned at the sky. How she loved summer. Despite the fact it was already almost 6, the day was still bright, and the sky, clear. She knew it'd darken soon after her party started, but even then, they'd have a nice view of the sunset. For a moment, she was lost in thought, when she heard her name. Turning and leaning over the rail, she caught sight of Minori entering. "Minori-chan!"

Happily, she flew back into the boat, and towards the door. Right when she caught sight of her friend, the girl stumbled in her shoes (Darn heels! It wasn't a good idea to let a girl who usually fell over her own feet wear heels!) and fell on the bottom, with a loud yelp.

Startled, the maids rushed in, taking in the sight before them, before sighing and going back to the kitchen when Mitsuko gave them a sheepish smile, and a small 'I'm okay' wave. They were already used to it.

The yelp had been heard outside as well, as the the guards rushed in and, like the maids, looked at Mitsuko, sighed, and went back to their posts.

Hearing the birthday girl's voice, Minori whirled around, spotting the other. "Mitsuko!" She began walking towards the other with a grin, only to gasp at the sight of another one of her accidents. "Are you okay?" She asked with a raised eyebrow as she squatted down.

"Oh yeah, here!" She chirped as both hands were extended, clutching the wrapped present. "I made it myself. See if you like it?"

Inside the wrapping paper was a light-furred bear which was soft to the touch. It had beautiful glass blue eyes and a smile on it's face. What made it unique was the blond hair on it's head that greatly resembled Mitsuko's. The bear was also wearing a white shirt with a large pink heart on the chest, and a sparkly pink skirt.

Then so unexpectedly, that she even shocked herself, she leant over and hugged the girl. "Happy birthday." She whispered with a smile.

"Ah that must be it! Pretty hard to miss, huh?" he said, grinning at the large ship anchored by the dock. His limo came to a stop and he checked his reflection in the window before grabbing the present and stepping outside. "I'll see you after 9, then," he said to his chauffeur, who nodded in acknowledgement and drove off.

With a little sigh and a stretch, Takumi made his way to the guards. Though before he had a chance to request entrance, they bolted inside towards the source of what Takumi took to be a yelp. He raised an eyebrow and craned his neck to see what was going on. Before he could get a glimpse of the situation, the guards had returned, shaking their heads. Blinking, Takumi showed them his invitation and stepped inside. His confusion was evident on his face as he discovered the birthday girl and Minori as well at floor level. It took a second for him to realize what must have happened, and he grinned.

"Ah, I should've known," he said with a laugh, strolling over to where the two girls were.

Wincing, and rubbing her leg, the girl grinned up sheepishly at Minori. "I'm fine, I'm fine! Happens everyday, and these shoes are hazards." She glared down at her shoes, as if it were all their fault, and disregarding the fact that she usually fell down, even when wearing slippers.

Then, blinking as Minori squatted down, Mitsuko's eyes fell to the present as she spoke. "Oh, Minori-chan! You didn't have to make me a gift!" She exclaimed, waving her arms, but feeling flattered nevertheless. Taking the offered present, she gave it a small smile, before blinking in surprise as Minori hugged her.

Laughing as she returned the girl's hug, she pulled back to offer her friend a grin. "Thank you, Minori-chan!" The girl chirped, clutching her present to her chest with one hand. She would open it...as soon as she got up, and her body stopped aching from the fall.

Before she could stand up, someone else entered. Looking up as he spoke, another grin lit her face. "Takumi-kun! You made it!" She waved both arms in greeting - an odd sight, since she was still sitting on the floor. Then, as her fingers brushed past her hair, she frowned. Oh, right. She had almost forgotten.

Tugging at the pins at her hair, she frowned as it wouldn't come loose. Struggling with it, she furrowed her brows as she pulled out another two hairpins. How many did Aya put in here?!

Finally, after a moment, her hair tumbled back down, and over her shoulders, like how she wore it at Ouran. Running fingers through her hair to neaten it, she grinned at her classmates. "It was bothering me. I wanted everyone to be comfortable at this party, and to dress however they wanted, but my maids wouldn't let me follow my own rules." She wrinkled her nose, pulling the flower clip from her maids from her hair. Smoothening the area out, she clipped it on again, before trying to stand up, wobbly in her heels.

"Gah."

((Lol...very cute invitation. Mind if I join the party?))

Outfit

I will not panic. I will NOT panic. I WILL NOT panic. I WILL NOT PANIC.

Despite Mitsuko's considerate, thoughtful notion, it couldn't be helped that at least one of her guests had been forced to wear 'something they didn't want to'. The fact was, for Roka, this was the worst understatement he could have possibly imagined in the situation he was currently in. Then again, he had had absolutely no choice in the matter. But of course, that didn't pacify his tremendous humiliation in the least.

Stranded on the dock, the limo long gone, was a slim, elegant girl dressed in an extravagant lime party dress. It was the sort of flashy outfit one might wear for dressing up as a fairy on Halloween, only made of real silk and studded with tiny green peridot gems that made it sparkle. Dainty, matching high-heeled shoes fitted her feet, and even a pair of dangling peridot gemstone earrings dangled from her ears. Silver hair had been tied in the back, allowing her bangs to fall to the side of her face in the front. She carried a large parcel at her side, pink and frilly and scented like sakura blossoms.

The only problem here was that the girl wasn't really a girl. The dress had been worn against its wearer's will. The heels had never been donned by such uneasy feet, and the ear piercings had only this morning been administered. In truth, they still hurt, as the pain they had caused had served as Roka's wake-up call. The hair, long enough as it was, had been tied up not for the sake of fashion, but in fact for the for the sake of disguise. Aside from the party outfit, Roka bore an almost perfect resmblance to his elder sister, Asumi. Not that she had been informed of her imposter. At least...Roka didn't think she had been. As far as he could tell, the whole thing could be traced back to his two younger sisters: Nijiko, age 12, and Seshiru, age 10.

Oh, how he'd make them pay when he got back. And with luck, he'd be able to get Asumi on his side as well. But for now, all he could do was turn around and face the music. It wasn't such a bad evening anyway, if he ignored the chilling breeze that whooshed past his legs and up his skirt every so often, causing him to wince.

Jeez, how do girls wear these things?! He thought miserably, shoving the edge of his skirt down and nearly dropping Mitsuko's gift in the process. Why would they even want to?! Acutally, after staring at it a while, Roka had recognized it to be Asumi's dress, one she had used once when his sisters were playing dress up. His parents had bought it for her especially on occasions such as this, but she hardly ever wore it.

I think I know why now, Roka pondered grimly as he trudged, red in the face, toward the fantastic ship aboard which the party was to take place. If all went according to plan, all he'd have to do was get on long enough to drop off the gift, and then get off. He'd considered wishing Mitsuko a happy birthday as well. She certainly deserved it, and he didn't think she knew his face well enough to recognize it under all the make-up he was wearing.

Roka knew if it hadn't been for his younger sisters, he would have never been allowed to attend the party, as his parents would have probably disapproved. The whole reason they had sent Roka to Ouran was in hopes he'd make more friends with guys his age, not more girls. Mitsuko's invitation was the last thing they needed to see. But if he was just going to go as Asumi to drop off the present, what harm would it do?

His parents hadn't even asked when they saw the maids ushering him into the limo. Nijiko and Seshiru had promised to explain that 'Asumi' was just going out to drop off a gift to please a family friend, and would be back soon. His parents had been so delighted at this thoughtfullness they encouraged 'Asumi' to stay with the family and chat a while to encourage friendly relations. But Roka intended to stay for as short a time as possible.

They'll never find out, Roka kept thinking, staring at his pink nail polish. Not my parents, and not any of my schoolmates... And if anyone asks, then my name is Asumi, and I'm Roka's older sister dropping off a present for Mitsuko...

Rising to her feet, and using the wall as support, Mitsuko stood up on wobbly heels. Still clutching the gift Minori gave to her in her hands, the girl took a single step forward, almost slipping again. Her ankle was aching from the previous fall as well. Perhaps she should sit down.

Before she could her attention was drawn towards a movement outside. Moving towards the door, and peering over the shoulders of her two guards, and towards an approaching figure. Curious, as she didn't recall seeing the girl before, she waved her guards off. Then, cheerily, the girl waved to the newcomer. "'ello!" She chirped, with a bright smile. Perhaps this girl was one of her friend's friend? Or a relative of one of her schoolmates?

"Imma Mitsuko! What's your name?" The girl took another step forward, but her step with a tiny angle off as, the next thing she knew, she found herself falling again. This time, fortunately, her guards each grabbed one of her arms, hauling her back to her feet.

"Miss Mitsuko," One of them sighed, running his free hand through his hair and shaking his head. "We should have padded the whole ship for you. Forgive me for saying so, but you and heels don't mix."

"Takumi?" Minori repeated, turning behind to stare at her classmate and gave him an awkward grin. "Hi." Her heart fluttered, but somehow, she managed to be calm enough to stand up. Wincing at the comment about being comfortable, she shook her head as she glanced down at her outfit. "Well, my mother made me wear this."

The girl stared at the other "girl" which had entered. Something in her told her that something was wrong. The face looked awfully familiar, although she didn't remember her at Ouran. "Mitsuko, maybe you should change your footwear?" On one hand, Minori wouldn't like her friend to get hurt on her birthday, on another, she was unsure whether she could hold her fear back if Mitsuko continued falling like this.

"Hello Minori," Takumi said, winking goodnaturedly. "Very nice outfit; though now I'm having second thoughts about coming in my day clothes..." He plucked at his shirt collar and smiled sheepishly.

His eyes instinctively glanced towards Mitsuko when she fell once more. "Are you alr...," he stopped in midsentence and inclined his head at the newcomer. She was dressed so extravagantly that he unconsciously scooted a little behind Minori in an attempt to hide his tousled appearance. I knew I should've stopped to change... there was still time. He mentally kicked himself and brushed a strand of hair from his face, clutching the wrapped box a little tighter.

As he boarded the ship, Roka bit his lip nervously. He was unconciously performing many natural femenine behaviors unintentionally, though this was because having played 'dress-up' with his sisters for so long, he had picked up their girlish habits. This included playing with his hair, smoothing out his skirt, and walking slowly in a certain fashion that was most advantageous to those watching. The last one, however, was more out of caution than anything. If Mitsuko, a girl, was having problems with her heels, well...

At least I'm not the only one, Roka realized, regarding the birthday girl as she stumbled outdoors to greet him. Even in his most uncomfortable situation, she could still make him smile with her unique Mitsuko clumsiness. It didn't hurt that she looked lovely in her birthday dress either. Decoratively casual, but still festive and of course, pink. Her hair was somewhat dishevaled, as if it had been pinned up earlier, but it only served to make her seem more free and happy. He blinked, realizing it was him she was calling to.

"Uh...H-hello!" Roka replied cheerfully, attempting to mimic the high, shrill voices of his younger sisters. As Asumi was supposed to be mute, he regretted this action right away, slapping his palm to his face. How could he have been so stupid?! He was still struggling to remember if he had ever mentioned in class that Asumi was mute while he continued on. There was no help for it now.

"Mitsuko?" he repeated uncertainly. "Y-you must be...Tsuko-san?" The 'girl' glanced down at the invitation she held in trembling fingers, as if not sure she was at the right place.

"Happy Birthday, Mitsuko-san!" Roka told Mitsuko as he finally made it up to her deck level. Of course she wasn't going to ask for his name. She could never be that rude, even if she tried. He'd have to introduce himself, and quickly, or someone might become suspicious. "Ah...I'm Asumi-san!" Roka called wobbling on his high heels. "I'm Roka-chan's - I mean, Roka-kun's elder sister. Pleased to meet you!"

Grinning as Mitsuko fell again, with the guards there to catch her, Roka took a deep curtsy, almost prideful in his practiced manner. (He had played 'Pretty Princess' one too many times before, and had to help his sisters learn their curtsies.) Unfortunately, he had never before attempted such with heels, and with his mind on Mitsuko, the false female crashed to the floor much less gracefully.

"I think..." he groaned, smirking at the guard's suggestion, "...you may just need to ban heels from Mitsuko-san's party altogether...it seems this curse is contagious. I've never fallen in these shoes before!" A lie, of course. Just that day, there had been a total of seven falls in that pair alone as Roka had been in a hurry to get to the party on time.

Sighing and not trusting himself to stand up, Roka remained where he was on the floor. At least the wind couldn't sneak up under his skirt that way. Yet at the sound of a familiar 1A student's voice, he looked up, startled. Minori-chan was staring at him, causing him to blush ever so slightly. He avoided her eyes as if shy, dreading the thought she might recognize him from class, and cleared his throat, suddenly eager to get off the ship.

"Um...mmm, pehraps your friend is right, Mitsuko-san. Here. I'm sorry if I arrived late, but I had no intention of ruining your fun. I only came to drop off a gift from Roka-kun." He set down the parcel at the feet of the guard helping Mitsuko up, unwilling to hand it to Mitsuko personally. She might have noticed his trembling hands. He shivered with a mixture of cold and embarressment, as well as nervousness, but the sooner he left, the better.

"He did so want to give it to you in person, but our parents simply couldn't allow it. They say he's too attached to girls, you see, and they fear he'll become too feminine. Shame, really, but he kept talking about what a wonderful friend you are and how much you deserved to have a spectacular birthday." Roka flashed a sweet smile, as Asumi would have done.

"Well...anyway, I better be off. I think I see my ride come to pick me up already. But you've got a lovely ship, Mitsuko-san, if you don't mind me saying." Glancing about the deck admiringly, he had hoped to distract the company before him as he attempted to stand. With his short skirt, he feared someone might happen to glimpse something they shouldn't. Roka had been in too much of a hurry to see if his sisters had ordered him clothed in girls underwear, but he wasn't about to check. It wouldn't be a surprise if they had, though. In the limo Roka had already taken the liberty of removing a padded bra they had stuffed with tissues.

"Have fun! Oh, and enjoy the gift! He insisted it made especially for you." Awkwardly pulling himself to his feet, Roka couldn't help feeling silly referring to himself in third person as he hastily tugged on a sleeve that had begun to slip off his shoulder.

With a wave, he hurried down back toward the docks and tripped, falling flat on his face. He lay there in the darkness for a little while, wishing the fall had killed him on impact and wondering how much those on deck had been able to see.

Mitsuko glanced back at her friends, with a grin. "You both look very nice - don't worry about it. I'm pretty sure my hair looks like a bird nest right now anyways." She chirped, good naturedly, before turning back to face the other girl.

"Yepyep! I'm Mitsuko! And thank you!" She grinned, as the girl gave her a happy birthday wish. Quietly, she tilted her head to the side as she introduced herself, before feeling a smile cross her face. "Roka-kun's sister? It's nice to meetcha!" She then paused to crane her neck forward to take a closer look at Roka in disguise. Her guards grabbed onto her shoulders instinctively, as if worried she'd tumble forward.

Instead, after a moment, the girl pulled back. "You do kinda look like Roka-kun!" She admitted, with a nod. "You're very pretty though." Mitsuko added, brightly. Mitsuko was dense. Very...very dense. After looking at him so closely, it odd that she couldn't tell it was really him.

At the curtsy, she smiled politely, until he fell. Startled, she hurried forward, windmilling her arms in alarm as she stumbled again. Having regained her balance, the girl tried to kneel down to offer a hand, grumblng as the heels got in the way of that. "Are you alright?! Are you hurt!?" Then, turning to Minori as she spoke, the girl grinned. "I would, Minori-chan, but I don't have any other shoes with me, and my maids would never let me walk barefooted." The girl grimaced. Maybe she should have brought extra shoes.

"Oh," The girl blinked as the gift was placed before her and her guards. "He really shouldn't have. I mentioned that gifts weren't nessesary." She looked over towards Minori, and stuck out her toungue in a very, "Thank you for the gift, but you really didn't have to!" look, before looking towards the wrapped box Takumi held, and hoping it wasn't a gift for her.

Sighing dramatically, she shrugged. "I have incredibly kind friends, who really shouldn't have bought me gifts." She said the last part firmly, before laughing. Then, listening to Roka, she frowned. "Roka-kun doesn't seem feminine. He's himself, and should be proud of it. Plus he has a nice sister like you!" She nodded matter of factly.

As he excused himself, and started down, Mitsuko blinked. "Oh, but - wai -" Before she could continue, Roka had tripped and fallen. Alarmed, she hurried down, somehow without falling herself. Kneeling down, she gently shook his shoulder. "A-are you alright? Why don't you come inside - really? It wouldn't be trouble to any of us, and you may have hurt yourself from falling with a heel on." She took his hand as she tried to haul him up, as gently as she could, all while trying to keep her own balance.

"Thank you." Minori managed to get a smooth reply out, smiling at him as she tried to order her brain not to make her blush. Not now. Turning her head as Takumi ducked behind her, she realised his apprehension. "You look fine." Though her heart teased her that whatever he wore, she would still think the same.

Minori had already suspected "Asumi-san" was Roka, when "she" came up close. Still, she clamped her mouth shut, remembering that she owed him one from when Rose caused his allergies. If he wanted to crossdress, it was his issue. He must have sneaked out like that. Well, it was nice of him to defy his parents to come and give Mitsuko her present. As the latter stuck out her tongue at her, Minori cocked her head to a side with a smile that said, "Don't mention it." Besides, it as fun making that bear. As he walked away, another crash was heard. "Heels seem to be cursed today." Then she stared down at her own and laughed. "I hope mine isn't too."

"You sure?" he whispered doubtfully, though both their words had eased his insecurity slightly and he inched out a little from behind Minori.

He noticed Mitsuko glancing at the box in his hand. He'd gone out earlier that day gift shopping, and had found a very nice silver necklace with a jeweled heart-shaped pendant. The wrapped box it came in had seemed so small and insignificant that he had gone and gotten a fox plush to go with it. Both items were now in a larger wrapped box, which Takumi now thought he should give Mitsuko.

He stepped out and made his way towards Mitsuko just as the girl in green, Asumi, was it? , fell over. How do girls walk in such things? Seems practically impossible. Concern followed his astonishment as he followed the birthday girl down, hoping Asumi hadn't injured herself. He knew the Roka in his class when they had made their introductions, but hadn't yet come across the thought that Roka might go to such extremity of crossdressing.
