Well... I noticed there are a lot of people going on missions in the near future. So, I thought it might be good to have a thread where we can share ideas for prep, questions, and talk about it? And maybe we could even have a thread where we put all those who are serving missions that we know of from this guild and where. Just a thought. *Nod.*

The best thing that anyone can do to prepare for a mission is to obtain a copy of Preach My Gospel, and study it and their scriptures.
Doing so will make you a far more effective missionary, speaking from experience.

Yup yup. Working on that. And HIII! o-o xD It's been a while, Paladin. :3
ummm.... oh! My Stake President also suggested doing all the FHE lessons until I leave. Which... has been a challenge. xD; And to go through the qualities listed in D&C 4 and work on those I have shortcomings in. Haven't... quite... done that yet. sweatdrop

for me, i think the one of the hardest things is saving money lol, oh and not to mention you have a big 'hit me' target sign on your back, cuz your asking for trouble when you decide to go on a mission, ^^;

yeah, the money thing is a problem. I need a job... sweatdrop
And I understand being a 'target', but if you pray, study, and do all that stuff you're supposed to, they're aim is thrown off. Make sense?

Get into the habit of the missionary schedule. Up early, exercise, shower, eat, pray, and study.

Speaking of Toys. He's been in Ohio for a couple weeks now. And he's doing good except for spazzing out that I don't write him more. LOL

A good book to read is "What I wish I'd known before my Mission" (something like that.) by John Bytheway. He has some very good advice. I like all his books but this is the one that fits the situation.

Well, I still have 2 years until I leave on my mission, so I really have to start getting ready. I'm not too worried about the money thing, but I just hope I'll be ready spiritually to go.
Anyway, we just had a lesson on mission preparedness last sunday in AP. RS's list of things to get accomplished before mission: 3nodding = DONE sweatdrop = NOT READY domokun = WORKING ON IT
3nodding -Learn to cook 3nodding -Learn to clean 3nodding -Learn to live on a tight/early schedule domokun -Read scriptures every day sweatdrop -Pray every day sweatdrop -Study Preach my Gospel (I do have a copy) domokun -Gain good people skills 3nodding -Learn to do laundry 3nodding -Learn good hygiene sweatdrop -Be old enough to go (Well, that comes with time, eh? I'm 17)
Uhm... I wonder if I'm missing anything?
