Well, it's a big, big city...
Name: Lilith Bristow Name Meaning: Birth place of innocence/purity. Nicknames: Lil, Lily Gender: Female Sexuality: Hetero Birthday: June 28, 1989 Age: 18 Appearance: Lily is something of a timeless beauty that makes her noticeable. For starters is her hair, framing her heart shaped face are bangs. Though they are getting long and might need to get cut soon. Her locks of chestnut are streaked with blond highlights and reach an inch past her shoulder blades. On one side of her head is a single braid brought behind her head to the other side to create a medieval looking crown of sorts. To hold the braid in place are two bobbing pins on each side.
Moving along is Lily’s eye color. The pigmentation is a dark green color, resembling the shade of moist grass when the sun has nearly set. Next to her eye color is her skin coloring, Lily spends an equal amount of time both indoors and outdoors which has resulted in a peachy skin coloration. On her back is a birth mark of what appears to be the letter ‘i’--something odd but rarely seen. The body type of this young woman is pear shaped. The size of her bust is somewhere in the middle, falling between the range of B and C. The proportion is a little off in her hip area, almost making it seem like she has no hips at all. The stomach of this young woman is flat with no definition.
The clothing style of this girl can range from day to day. She likes to mix up her clothing every once in a while. To Lily this means wearing an article of clothing that belongs to the ‘prep’ store with something from the ‘emo’ store. Like, wearing a pair of ripped jeans from American Eagle with a mesh top and shirt from Hot Topic. There are some items that all ways remain consistent with the girl. On her right wrist is a silver charm bracelet she got when she was fifteen. The charms on her bracelet are: a five pointed star, treble clef, a quarter note and a double quarter note. On her left hand are three rings, one on her ring finger, one on her middle and one on her thumb. All three rings are plain and simple bands of sterling silver. On her ears are a pair of little studs while across her neck is a plain silver chain. Finally the last item that remains the same with any outfit Lily jeans, a pair of sneakers--she likes to be comfortable while walking and heels don’t do that.
Height: Five feet, three inches Weight: One hundred and ten pounds
Blood Type: Type B Zodiac Sign: Cancer
Favorite Gemstone: Diamond Favorite Food: Tempura Least Favorite Food: Spaghetti Favorite Subject: Music Least Favorite Subject: Math Favorite Activities: Making music with her guitar or her voice, reading a book under a shady tree during summer, chatting with friends on line or phone, watching a few reality and comedy shows. Least Favorite Activities: Waiting around in the hospital, taking out the trash, doing homework from time to time, being forced to do something and running long distances.
Future Goals: Compose a song with great lyrics and beat, get into college and make a demo CD.
Strengths: Can talk to just about anyone, try to cheer someone up by cracking a joke or pun, looks to both sides of any situation, a good listener and willing to help her friends. Weaknesses: She doesn’t work well under pressure, afraid of spiders, moths and butterflies, doubting herself at times--like, what someone is telling her is out of pity or genuine care, trusts a bit too easily and a gossip.
Personality: Lily can be described as a creative young woman--who can come across as crazy to some people. She’s the type of person to say something about an idea without thinking it all the way through--making about ninety-nine percent of her ideas half baked. When someone has their first encounter with Lily, she can come across as ‘weird’ with her style in clothing but when you start a conversation you’ll find her to be kind, friendly and energetic. The first few words out of her mouth will probably, ‘you doing well?’ even though you’re smiling like there’s no tomorrow. Though sometimes these words can be used as bait to start gossiping about one thing or another--she has admit it that it is a bad habit and trying to stop. Another interesting fact about Lily is she's a straight forward person--a good portion of the time anyway. If she's discussing a sensitive topic with a friend she'll dance around it for a while before trying to put in her own two cents in a blunt but also gentle fashion.
Lilly is willing to give almost anything a try when it comes to food, music, clothes and books. She enjoys shopping like everyone else but not shoe shopping or purse shopping. Shoes don’t do well for it if they aren’t comfortable. It doesn’t matter if the shoe looks great on her or goes well with an outfit, if its not comfortable Lily won’t wear it. As for purses, to her a purse isn’t worth buying if it coasts more than thirty bucks. A purse is meant to carrying around your important things and you don’t need to pay some odd hundred dollars for a beach bag just because its what all the celebrities have .
As for the other moods of Lily, she does get depressed or sad in a while. Like when watching a tragic movie or when someone she loves is ill--or if she gets her heart broken by someone. Lily gets pretty down in the dumps when her monthly visitor comes around but she watches some movies to get it out of her system or try to put it into a song. The things that upset Lily can upset anyone, watching someone or an animal get hurt, when something doesn’t go her way or when you personally offend her--insulting her family or her beliefs. She rarely gets offended but when she does, she’ll yell, rant and curse at you. She will then proceed to hold something of a grudge till you apologize. Also, Lily does doubt herself from time to time. Sometimes she wonders if her music is good enough for the big leagues or if someone is complementing her if it’s the truth or out of pity--or something along those lines. Aside from those things, Lily is just as normal as everyone else.
History: On June 28, Lilith was born into this world weighing in at seven pounds and two ounces. She is the second child in the Bristow family, the first being her 3 year older brother Aaron. She was born into a family of doctors--well family members in the health care industry. Her mother worked as a nurse and her father a doctor in the LA county. Growing up in such an area can impact a child greatly. For one thing it’s the social aspect, people in California were more accepting of others due to LA being so diverse. It gave Lily a taste of the many aspects and cultures of people in just one place. That contributed to her tolerance and patience levels as well as helping out as a volunteer at a elderly home during her preteen years. As she grew up, Lily learned different cultures through the food associated with it--hence why she likes Tempura.
Next is her class title in society. Sure, Lily's family is well off but they set some ground rules. She had to earn her cellphone with good grades and doing community service--hence the elderly home. The clothes she wore had to be age appropriate and of course lecturing the kids on the value of money. Couple with the lecture was the minimal allowance they received, ten dollars a week. Which explains why Lilith doesn't like spending her hard earn money on one item like a Louis Vi tone purse when she could get ten pairs of pants for the same price.
Continuing on, after Lily was born that completed the picture ‘perfect’ family--minus the fact the household had two incomes. In the beginning her mother took time out to raise the kids until Lily was six and Aaron was nine. By then the kids were in school so all they had to do was hire a nanny to look after Lily and Aaron. Now with both parents working at the hospital, Aaron and Lily were put into after school programs. Of course after their programs, their nanny would come and pick them up and wait till one of their parents came home. To make the change easy on both children, Lily's mother over the course of a month began to gradually to work small hours while introducing the nanny. Lily didn't like the idea of having someone else taking care of her, after all mom's were supposed to do that. However, no matter how much Lily cried or wanted her mother to stay at home, Mrs. Bristow remained firm and told her it was for the best. It was then a rift between mother and daughter was born, Lily had to accept whatever was 'for the best' from her mom meant it was for the best for her mother and not for her. Her relationship with her father on the other hand was a little better. He was firm with both children but also gave gifts such as sweets on the occasion, hence why Lily goes to her father first whenever she wants something.
But back to the after school activities. Aaron was interested in basketball and Lily was forced to choose between tutus and a funny looking guitar with a stick, aka the violin. At the age of seven, she didn’t understand why she had to use a stick to play the instrument. Much to her parent's disappointment, Lily wanted to quit the violin. She didn't like it much, considering she had to two things at one time--positioning her fingers on the neck of the instrument while holding a bow and knowing when to go down and up. Her parents refused to let their daughter quit--after all they were paying for it. Finally after three months of Lily begging did her parents finally consented. However, Lily still needed an after school program to keep her busy till her parents came home. Since the girl disliked playing an instrument they enrolled her in voice--to which Lily promised to continue going to. After all, at the age of seven, singing should be easy since she did use her voice all the time. How wrong she was.
First, she was taught the basics such as scales followed by the different rhythms. Her teacher started her off with simple song before moving on to harder ones. Her singing practices consisted of warming her voice up by practicing her scales, to learning a new song every month. Her teacher also went over the history of the piece Lily sang. By the time the young girl was nine, she was started old English songs such as church hymns. As the years went by her teacher gradually introduced her to songs in different languages, first teaching her the correct pronunciation, then to learning the rhythm to pitches and finally trying out it out with the lyrics.
By the time she was thirteen she found her love of playing the guitar. She went up to the attic of her home and found a dusty old guitar--the original plan was looking for the old sewing machine for her home economics class. Apparently back in the ‘old days’ her father had charmed her mother into a date by singing a tune from the Beatles but soon stopped playing. After strumming a few of the strings, Lil begged her parents for guitar lessons. At first her parents wouldn't comply, saying the guitar wasn't as 'special' or 'prestigious' as the violin. It took a while before Lilith convinced her father who then convinced her mother.
The girl would have her lessons with one draw back, she would have to find a way to pay for it--something no teenager wants to hear. Even though Lily received an allowance every week, she wouldn't be able to save enough money for a private instructor...hence why she turned to 'Playing the guitar for Dummies' books. They were cheap, plus she could learn whenever she wanted to--after voice lessons, homework and chores that is. After that is pretty much history. Lilith began to practice more and more each day, once she got the hang of her instrument did she try singing. Easy to say but hard to do considering it was something new. She could do one or the other on its own...putting both together was another story. After a year of practicing songs did the girl start to compose her own lyrics and look for her own ‘sound’--something she hopes to be along the lines of rock or alternative. Her parents don’t understand why their daughter would spend so much time on something that wouldn’t contribute to her immediate future. After all, only a handful of people make it on their talent but soon exploited as seen on so many television shows. With her parent’s questioning her future, it makes it hard for the girl not to be doubting herself at times. Will her music pan out for her in the end or will it all be just one big waste of time? Only the future holds that question and the future is still being written.
The only person to fully back Lilith on her music is her brother. In fact, when she turned fifteen he gave her that very special charm bracelet. Custom made too, considering each charm had his initials in there somewhere for Lily to find. That bracelet is a security blanket for Lily, it helps her get over her stage fears and hard times. With her brother away in college in New York--basketball scholarship with a major in chemical engineering--that bracelet is the only thing she has to basically cling to even though he’s so far away.
Let me show you around some time...

And now you crossed that line...
Pukka Info
The pukka for Lilith is quite simple. Its always seen on the girl and she never goes anywhere without it. Its not her bracelet but its darn close. It’s the final charm on her bracelet, the little double quarter note. It fits perfectly with the rest of the music oriented charms on her bracelet and foreshadows what might come considering she’ll be part human and part something else to make one whole being.
How she received the charm was the night before the college basketball championships, the first round. It was sent to her by of course her brother--or so she thought. Before receiving the item Aaron told her he would be sending her a gift so she could help cheer him on back in LA--which was a t shirt with his number and last name etched on the back. What Lily got instead was the double quarter note inside a pale blue box. A smile was on her face as she rushed up to her room to place the charm on her bracelet, it appeared to be like the others. It had the same silver coloring but she couldn’t find his initials. Lily thought Aaron didn’t have enough time to get one custom made so bought one from a local gift store which was perfectly fine with her. After she finished putting the charm on, Lily felt a bit odd…
You can't come back...

And I don't think I like this game no more...
The Myth
Warning, since there was limited information regarding the lillend, I combined my own imagination and stories regarding Apollo and the muses to create this myth.
According to legend there were in the beginning three muses: Aoide (song or voice), Melete (practice or occasion) and Mneme (memory). Each girl was the embodiment of art in its true sense. Such as, Aoide was the 'voice' of people who expressed themselves in other ways such as song, script, sculpture, etc. When they were first formed, their father Apollo sought to create a being to help protect his daughters from harm in the mortal realm where they would inspire humans to write, sing or even dance about the glory of him or the glory of his brothers or sisters on Mount Olympus.
Apollo looked to three beings: a priestess, snake and bird. He wanted a being who not only could protect his daughters but held some aspect of 'art' in themselves. The snake could dance beautifully, but so could the priestess. The bird could sing wonderfully but so could the priestess. The Greek God was at a crossroad, which should he choose? In the end he decided on all three. He first took the priestess for her human beauty and ability to play instruments that required the use of her hands. He removed her lower half to replace it with the snake, the new appendage could be used to hold back a enemy and squeeze them to death and with more flexibility could dance in a more erotic way. Finally Apollo took the wings of the bird and its golden voice. The wings would allow the creature to travel in air or land with his daughters and the voice would be able to travel greater distances to either praise his name or warn him of any danger towards his three daughters.
And thus the Lillend was born.

Other Info:
The lillend is both a lover and protector of the arts such as music and literature. In addition to being fine at these things themselves, they defend others who create it, and seek out and punish those who despoil it. They can attack by constricting with their tails, and can cast all sorts of spells. They also sometimes carry weapons. They can also play soothing music on their harps. Being highly civilized, they will not always kill opponents and instead merely try to talk some sense into them.

hmm lesse 1. I suggest you only every refer to eyes as eyes, referring to them as orbs is a classic sign of someone writing a mary sue. That and it gives the thought that you can actually see the entire eyeball. 2. Quote: from a far Lily does appear to be along the lines of ordinary but up closer one would see ‘ordinary’ doesn’t describe young Lily. First it's afar not a far and secondly that line seems presumptuous as if Lily is clearly more stunning than anyone else. if she must be of exceptional looks then try phrasing it like. " Lily has a timeless or classic beauty that makes her noticable and turns heads" It still gets your point across but isn't as well insulting to those of us with average characters. Because really some actresses today are stunning i but one can easily say Marilyn Munroe was more beautiful by simply calling her a classic or timeless beauty. 3. Her body needs a proper definition becuase right now it's hard to imagine her at all. Is she pear or apple shaped. long or short neck etc. Also is stomach taut with muscle or just flat and remember that big chests plus tiny bodies = back pain. 4. Quote: Until Aaron was twelve years old Lilith had to endure classical training, how to sing in different languages even though she had no idea what each word meant without a dictionary. what does Aaron have to with that. assuming it's a name mistake and was meant to be litlith both times then you need to think a bit more practiacally. if she starts signing at 7 she could theoeretically learn enough of the basics by 9 to choose to sing purely classical music however most teachers would continue to teach her songs in english becuase she already understands pronunciation in that language and has only to adjust to that a new style of music . I haven't taken singing lessons however so it may be possible. Also why exactly did her parents let her quit violin lessons only a month in? they being the ones paying for this they should encourage her to stick with it both becuase lessons are too costly to have her changign her mind all the time also it seems like bad parenting to let kids develop the idea that they needen't finish what they start just becuase they don't like it. 5. Speaking of the parents, I have some questions 1 did her mother take time off to atleast raise her daughter the first few yeasrs of life? if not then who did? 2.. why does lily seem to have not been affected by her limited time with her parents due to their jobs. does she not see that most other kids have at least one parent around more often then hers are. All of this is not to say that lilith isn't an interesting character with potential just that in my opinion she needs some fine tuning to be more practical. I wish you the best of luck and I hope this was helpfull.
