Another winter came and went, bringing a perfect spring, as well as an even better summer. That morning when Tequila woke up, she noticed the air was hot and sticky. It was probably the only reason she didn't like the summer time, and having such a long mane meant dragging it around all day.
"If only hair cuts were an option.." she mumbled to herself, and after a comfortable drink in a nearby stream, she made her way through a small forest and kept herself cool in the shade. Her red eyes gazed on the open area before her, and she noticed that everyone else seemed to be lazy as well. Summer days were long and bright, and she giggled, noticing that everyone else seemed to be hiding in the comfort of the shade.
With a slight yawn, she bent her legs and slowly sat on her knees, just observing the area while breathing in a light breeze that strode by. Since Vodka had finally gone off on his own, it seemed Tequila had too much free time for herself. This was a weird feeling, so she usually just napped or wandered around.

The spring had been rather interesting for him so far. A friendly Usdia had shown him around a mountaintop and from there he hadn’t done too much. Some time spent with Aely, his two-legger, and lazy days just pondering what to do next. His coat, mane, and tail had left him more than a little hot as summer began to heat the land…
Right now, Harij was wandering rather aimlessly towards a stream, planning on possibly splashing around and getting his fur wet. Whenever that happened the markings on his body tended to seem a bit mushed and run-together, but what did the mean to him? His amber eyes scanned through the few trees that were left to go around to get to the water and he saw a mare up ahead. Was it proper to walk up to her or should he just ignore her?
With a quick shake of his mane, the little gold bands that Aely had put in to hold his braids jingled, Harij stepped forward without a bit of hesitation. He needed water and the jingling and the not even remotely subtle clip-clop of his hooves ought to alert the one he saw ahead. She was a she, but he couldn’t tell much on colors yet.

Tequila twitched her ears and instantly noticed the sound of another Soquili coming around the forest. Standing up again, she turned her head left and right, and then noticed a stallion coming in her direction. It looked as if he had some interested markings on him, and she smiled in response to him coming closer. "Hello there." she remarked, and she moved herself up a few paces to catch up with his walking. Her eyes trailed to the designs on his body, and she was impressed with the delicate lines he held.
She shook her mane to get the hair out of her face, and put her head down slightly in a pollite manner. "Enjoying this lovely day as well?"
It didn't hurt to be friendly to another- it had been awhile since she had met anyone new. She noticed though that many more Soquili were starting to appear in the land, and it was time for her to catch up with some! She really felt out of the loop sometimes, especially with all of the new faces around.

Harij watched from the shadows of the forest for a moment, letting himself spot her fully before he showed himself to her fully. The one thing he tried to remember to check for was whether or not he had managed to stumble upon an ill-mannered creature or not. She was a grey-black mare with pretty red highlights and matching red eyes. He smiled a bit to himself, lucky girl.. No obscenely complicated markings to have small-talk about. Oi. In response to her greeting Harij bobbed his head low and looked up at her curiously.
The long grey-red mane blew about in the wind and made Harij shake his own out in immitation. Stupid heat. “Indeed I am.”
Maybe he’d make a new friend today. It had been a few days since spending anytime with Aely, his two-legger and that was her choosing. As much as the girl loved to ride around and just relax she had ordered him not to come home til he had at least three new friends. Silly lady. Wait.. Conversation. “Er.. What brings you here?”

Tequila giggled and brought her attention back on the stallion. "I am just relaxing I suppose. Things always seem to be quiet on a hot day. And what about yourself?" She wondered where the stallion had come from, and if he had traveled far and such.
Oh her manners! She hadn't even introduced herself yet! "My name is Tequila, by the way." she quickly added, feeling immature on the thought. "What is your name then?" She regained her composure after feeling overwhelmed with embarrassment, and wondered if she had already ruined a fist impression.
Though.. with this stallion, it didn't seem like he cared so much on the topic. From watching him, he seemed more relaxed if anything.
In that case then, she was lucky! Some stallions she would meet were so harsh on little mistakes like that.

Both of his ears pricked forward in quite a bit of curiosity when she giggled. He’d not really heard that noise before save for once by the Ahote pony he’d met. “Uhm.. Just coming to the water.” He’d still wasn’t too sure of the lands, so it’d be impossible to really say where he had come from and where he was now.
“Tequila? That’s lovely.” His mind digested that and put a little slot to remembered to the point where when she spoke again.. It took him a bit to focus in on the other question. Questions weren’t his strong suit since his mind tended to wander off, “Oh.. Well I’m Harij.” His voice drew it out slightly, a slight hiss of an accent long forgotten.
His eyes danced with mischief for a moment but he put the idea out. Pushing her into the water was out of the question.
Even if he went bouncing in after her. They would talk and after awhile he’d probably just wade in if anything.

She hadn't really realized that there WAS a stream next to her, so of course that would bring someone to it! "Forgive me," she moved her body a bit so the stream was now to the side of her, "ahh, now you can get some water for yourself." She gave him a warm smile and bobbed her head in an energetic manner.
"Harij? Well, its nice to meet you then." Eying the water herself, she arched her neck to the ground and nosed her way into a gulp of water. "Its nice and cool today.." she finished another swallow and glanced back at the stallion. "Do you enjoy the water, Harij?"
When her neck was brought back to its original stanch, she flipped her mane to the side so the small pieces that hit the water could dry off a bit. Ugh, long manes were always such a pain.
"You are lucky your hair is braided, that must make it easier to run and such!" She grunted and continued to flip at hers.

Harij blinked lightly at her shifting. Maybe he had been too rude in what he said? She seemed to have moved awfully quickly and then apologized just as fast. Shaking his head again he forced the idea away and focused on taking a quick drink. The water was helpful and did soothe his rather antsy nature.
“Yes.. It is nice to meet you as well.” People weren’t too bad once he got to know them and knew what their motives were. The tense situation not too long ago with another stallion made him weary of being too over-protective of his self and others.
“Oh yes.. I love the water.. My coat seems to be thicker than others he had seen so I like to cool off.” A decent explanation if he did think-so himself. His eyes widened when she flipped her hair, it was almost as long as Lovey’s..
“I am glad that my two-legger keeps it this way.. Although it jingles at times because she chooses to use metal. I like the look of it at least.” Wait.. Was that vain?

"Well, do you like swimming in the water?" Blunt about her question, the energetic female watched him with a sly look on her face. "I personally LOVE swimming. Its the best way to relax and cool off at the same time." It was an idea to throw out there, they were both standing by a stream, easily having a perfect opportunity. Tequila on the otherhand, decided to make sure of such before she got in the water.
Tequila had heard of two leggers being involved in other Soquili lives, but she found herself usually wandering away from the teepee life. "Ahh, that would be nice, I should find someone to deal with my hair.." The thought almost sounded too appealing.
"At least people will know when you are approaching them, if the metal is noisy. Though.. if you are trying to hide, I guess that would be a pain!" She let out a light giggle, almost entertaining herself in a silly manner.

Harij almost grinned. Yes, water was one of his favorite things. Whether it was just drinking, wading, or swimming.. All of them made life more enjoyable if he did say so himself. “I agree with you… Swimming is one of the few things that I do regularly because of how much I enjoy it.” There, he had answered her question bluntly. Would they both go in the water now? It was sparkling and looked rather inviting to him.
“You do not go near your two-legger?” So many Soquilis didn’t bother letting the two-legger near them.. And yet he had decided that it had been the smartest move for him to make at all. Aely saw to him and in return he saw to her. Everybody went home happy.
“You’ve just solved my dilemma.” How often did he try to hide from others though? Well.. Never, but of course there might come a day when the jingle-jangle served only to get on his nerves. Another slight smile and then he chose just to wait…

Ah, so he did enjoy swimming too. With that, Tequila shuffled her two front hooves into the water, and felt the temperature. When she realized it was a nice range of cool, she looked at him gleaming. "Well, I think I am going to take a swim.. what about you?" She winked at him playfully and slowly dragged her other legs in the water. She was still in the shallow part, but it was hitting her knees in length.
"Yeah, I tend to wander off a lot so, I don't really hang around mine. I guess it has just worked out like that." She nodded, wondering if maybe she was weird or something for not being around two leggars more often. As she was still answering his questions, she was starting to make her way into deeper parts of the water.
"Aw you shouldn't hide.." well, when Tequila thought about it she was sort of the same way, always staying behind and wathcing people. But, either way, Harij wasn't hiding now, and neither was she so, they must have been doing something right.
"Come on in the water, its brilliant!" She said, waddling her legs at this point.

Harij watched with keen eyes as the mare waded into the water. Usually he would just splash heedlessly into it and sometimes that worked out well.. Other times it was too hot and felt kind of ooky.. Or it was so cold that he’d just go flyingo ut of it. “Yes… That would be nice.” He’d wink back, but he wasn’t too sure if his eyes did that movement without looking like he’d simply gotten dirt into them. Smooth.
“Aely seems to need me.” He smiled slightly and let his mind drift to the brown-haired girl with paler than others skin. Yes, she had a tan to her but it wasn’t nearly as deep. Since he’d been taking her out on his back though she’d started to darken a bit. Bah.. His mind had certainly managed to escape reality.
“Hide what now?” Crap.. He had either missed something she had said or forgotten what he had.. Either of which would sound stupid in the end. Tossing back his mane as was a usual movement the stallion decided to just forget what he had forgotten.
“If you say so.” Pulling back for a moment Harij pranced and side-stepped into the water. Liking the temperature and feel already.

"Oh good you are in the water." She gleamed and swam around, moving her bangs out of her face so she could see. "You don't talk much, do ya Harij? That's ok!" Tequila was one who could keep herself entertained, so being in control of the conversation was no problem for her. "So tell me about yourself, Harij?"
There, a simple way to start. "I already was relieved that you like swimming, but what else do you like? Somehow I get the feeling that you are kinda mysterious!" Which always made for an amusing encounter.
Ahh well, her playful side was coming out a bit, but she didn't care. And, Harij didn't seem to care either, which made the entire scenario better. But, she was curious as to more details about him, and she dove her head under water quickly, only to bring it back up to face him. "Man I am talking a lot.." She nosed her way through the water, hoping to get some excercise out of this excursion as well.

Ahh, a question he had heard several times before in the past. Did he not talk enough? Or did others talk far too much for their own good? Blinking slightly he contemplated the question and deided the best answer was probably something that really wasn’t an answer at all, “I talk as much as is needed… and what do you wish to know of me?” He would tell.. But what?
Okay.. So what other things did he enjoy doing? His body was happily content with the feel of the water running over and through his fur and skin feeling just cool enough to keep him happy, “I am not mysterious.. Am I?” The other question went unanswered…
Harij dipped his nose into the water and blew out, making bubbles and then taking another drink. The water here was always so crystal clear to him, why not swim and drink it too? “No.. you are talking as much as you need, is that not right?” His legs kicked him forward in a manner to make a half-circle around. His braided tail fanned out in the water as he found slight footing in the pretty stream.

She only laughed, and watched him paddle around almost unaffected by her questions. Everytime she asked something, he responded right back with questions again! "I dunno, I guess.. anything more personal?" She gave him a goofy grin and paddled around herself as she pondered.
"Well, maybe its not that you are mysterious, but I am not used to another being so.. calm?" She eyed him again and wondered if that was really it. She had run into quite a lot of Soquili, though Harij seemed to take the cake in most different personality. Though, not that it was a bad thing, she actually found talking to him much more interesting now.
"I am talking because well, I just talk a lot!" Plus, it seemed to be a habit when she was nervous. She sort of envied Harij, and his ability to remain so cool an unaffected in front of her. "Do you like to explore around a lot?" She moved her nose back into the water, and then quickly brought it up again since it was cold on her skin. "I dunno, personal stuff like that."
