 Jelani lay low on the ground, he crawled in slow concentration. He had to get this right, he had to. So many times he had failed and that upset him. How could he show off and tell everyone how amazing he was at everything when he failed at such a neccessity.
Hunting. A needed thing if you wished to survive and unfortunately Jelani was still having trouble with it. He tried and tried and then tried some more but he still messed up. And that infuriated him. The bunny's ear twitched and Jelani held his breath. He moved forward once more, promptly brushing against a pebble.
The pebble made a small sound and the bunny's ears went right up. The bunny went completely still and Jelani frowned. Not again. The bunny took off and Jelani raced after it. The bunny ran into a clump of bushes, it was out of sight. Jelani grumbled. "Again and again." He muttered, his yellow eyes flashing with anger. "I hate this!" His last words were shouted into the air.

Tawny made his way on the edge of some bushes. He hadn't noticed that there was someone else around the area. Tawny, not being much of a hunter, or a watcher, or a guardian, he didn't even pick up a sent of someone.
Though, he did hear someone, and he stopped. "hello?" He asked slightly curious. He looked about but saw no one. He raised an eye brow and started to walk closer to the sound. Of course, it wasn't the smart thing to do. Though, the voice seemed rather young.
Soon, his eyes fell on a young male ulaya kit. He was brown and white. Tawny smiled and walked closer. "Are you ok?" He asked hoping he didn't frighten the little one. He loved kits, they were so much fun. Or at least, he thought so.

His ears perked up when he heard something. He turned to look behind him and blinked. Orange and black Ulaya, a male one since this one had the look like his father did. He frowned. He never met an older Ulaya before, besides his parents and they didn't count. He narrowed his eyes at the male Ulaya before turning away.
It didn't occur to him that this was an opportunity to impress, mostly show off, to this Ulaya. Jelani was still peeved off about messing up, again. "I'm fine." His voice was a little snappish but mostly it sounded like he wanted to throw a tantrum.

Tawny's caring smile continued as he watched the kit. He could tell he was a little upset about something. "You sure?" He took a few steps forward. He hadn't noticed that the kit had been trying to catch a rabbit. He didn't even take notice to his snotty attitude.
"I mean, I don't know how I could help you. Though, you seem rather disappointed?" He asked

He glared at the older male. Duh, of course he was disappointed with something. Didn't the male see him mess up with the rabbit? No one could of missed him, he was horrible. Couldn't blend in with his surroundings much, made sound when he creeped up to the animal he wanted to eat, couldn't even chase after the rabbit good.
But perhaps the older male hadn't seen his mistake? Then maybe turning things around could be good, but he was already ticked off. Drat. "Hunting sucks." Yes it did.

He chuckled. "Ah. I am not much of a hunter, either." He said with a wink. "Never could catch anything. Plus, I don't really like the taste of meat." He said truthfully. He didn't mind the fact that the creature was being killed, it was for a good cause. For one to live, another must die.

He didn't like meat? Well that was certainly strange. Perhaps this Ulaya was just completely odd though, Jelani eyed him with distaste. And also how dare this Ulaya assume Jelani wasn't much of a hunter! Jelani might just not enjoy hunting much because it was boring but also because he was still very much small.
"Oh I'm a great hunter." He puffed his chest out, and tried to stand proud. Though he was still quite irritated, he felt that he had to show to this Ulaya that he was amazing. No way was he going to be known as a failure when it came to hunting, he had to be the very best. "Hunting just sucks cause it's boring." A tiny lie but all for the good, well good for him.

Tawny smiled. "Oh! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make it sound like you weren't good at it." He said with a apologetic face. " I was meaning that you didn't like it. Hint's the Not much of a hunter." He winked at the other. Of course, this wasn't true, he was just trying to not make the kit mad. He didn't want the little one to be upset.

His eyes narrowed at the wink. It made him feel stupid, that earliar comment about "not much...". And that wink made him feel much, much worse. It was like this Ulaya knew he had been covering up for the fact that he was quite a horrible hunter indeed.
"Who are you?" He demanded, shifting the subject.

Tawny bowed. "Forgive me for being so rude!" He said quickly as he hadn't said his name yet. "My name is Tawny." he was looking back at the kit. "Pleasure to meat you!"

He couldn't help but smirk when he saw the bow, yes that's right he was the greatest afterall. "You're forgiven." He reached over and patted the other's nose as he could not reach the top of his head yet. He was still smirking, he could not believe this Ulaya actually bowed to him.
"Tawny, huh? Alright name but mine's ten time's better, no offense." He was the best, every bit of him was great.

Tawny smiled at the little one. At least he wasn't angry anymore. That made him feel better. He wagged his tail fluff and smiled. "Oh? I see." He said as the other said his name was better.

"It really is." He insisted. "The best of the best." He puffed out his chest some more. "Jelani." He poked a claw into his chest while saying his name, entirely proud of it. "Cool name, huh?" He looked up at the elder Ulaya, smirking almost.

Tawny went along with his little game. It was always fun to do this. "Yep! Best name I've ever heard!" He said very happily. His tail fluff wagged a bit as he flopped down on the ground so he wouldn't be towering over him. "So, Jelani, What is the mighty hunter hunting?" he asked

He nodded in agreement. This Tawny seemed like a good fellow, he seemed to know that Jelani was amazing and Jelani was relishing in it. He stopped at Tawny's next words. Great, now he had to talk about hunting. That was irritating.
"You mean, was, hunting. A rabbit. I killed it, ate it already." Jelani eyed an insect that was walking along the ground. "I'm the best afterall."
