Ariston felt dramatic at the moment. He usually felt this way, but for some reason this morning when he awoke from a wonderful dream, he decided that he felt overly dramatic. The air must have brought him these feelings, or maybe it was just that time of the year. Ariston didn't need reasons in his life, if he thought something, it was sure to be correct.
For most of the morning, and into the afternoon the gold stallion hung around his favorite stream casting poses at himself for hours. It was the perfect thing to keep him entertained, especially since his thoughts were so ridiculous earlier on. It had been too long since he and the stream had bonded, and the morning brought plenty of Ariston time.
It was such a sight to see! He looked as beautiful as ever, and he freshened himself up before taking flight again into the open sky. He felt satisfied finally, and decided he needed a new change of scenery. The wind was calm as well, so he was able to fly low without ruining his hair.
The thought of carrying a sweat also didn't sound appealing, so Ariston landed himself in a soft meadow. "Nothing is around? How strange." He grumbled to himself, and started to drag his long hair with him as he walked.

He had taken to the sky with great ease earlier in the day, spreading his large, feathered wings wide to carry his magnificent body throughout the clouds. It had been a perfect day to fly; not too hot and not too cold... Just enough of a breeze to keep him lofted without tangling either his mane or hair.
When he was convinced that the freedom of the air above had done enough for him he pulled his wings against his body, dropping dramatically. He spread his wings at the last possible moment, gliding towards the ground where he made a perfect landing that ended in a short run. He snorted softly, giving his head a light toss. Perfect... Even if there wasn't anyone around to see it.

From the distance, it looked as though Ariston had spotted something. It was.. black, with.. huge pink wings.
......................
Ariston tilted his head, and knew that he needed to go investigate. He scoped out most Soquilis in the land that stood out somehow, but it seemed this one was new to him. Ah perfect, it was just what he needed on his strange day. Everything had been so boring lately, and now something had popped out!
With a toss of his mane, he started to walk towards the stallion, picking his pace up a bit since he was quite a distance away. "Good day there!" he said, and he flicked his tail with a usual smile. Once he was at a comfortable distance, he REALLY saw what crazy features this stallion had. His wings appealed to him most, and he trailed his eyes on them now and then.

The voice that caused his ears to flicker towards it was unfamiliar but... Intriguing. Not at all like some of the other voices he had heard and yet, somewhere, perhaps it was like at least one of them. It had, either way, caught his curiosity and he turned his head slowly towards it.
The feathers of his wings ruffled slightly as he folded them against his sides, covering the marking that would have been exposed otherwise. His brow lofted, a slight smirk curving his mouth. "Good, you say? I believe that would depend completely upon who you asked. Lucky for you I agree. It is a good day."

"Lucky?" He tilted his head and slanted his eyes. "Shame that I don't even know your name yet, but I can already tell that we will not agree with each other." He gave a slight chuckle, and he brought his purple eyes on the stallion. He looked fresh, young, and strong. Ariston missed those days, but he wasn't THAT old yet!
"Whether people agree or not with me is no matter," he sighed, adding on a continuation to what the stallion said, "Everything I do is perfect, everything I say is perfect, everything I am, is also perfect." With a sly smile, he kept his gaze on the stallion, figuring that he would get mad as everyone else did to him. No matter, his ways were their own, in a sense. They made him him.

"Odd that, without knowing my name and, more importantly, without knowing my thoughts, you proclaim that we will not agree." He was amused, not entirely certain as to why this was so. Pale pink eyes met the other stallion' purple gaze. "Perfection is not something that everyone strives for... And even if some strive for it they rarely, if ever, achieve it on acceptable levels."
His sister, for example, would never meet the levels of perfection that he set for himself. She might in time find her own... But he wasn't certain that would happen any time soon if at all. His father as well had searched for perfection... His father had failed. Miserably.
"Would you care to know my name before you continue to judge?"

"Ah, but I am not judging though." He gave him a wink, and put his head down pollitely. "My name is Ariston, and I assure you, I am just pointing myself out to such ways. They are my own, so I figured I would share them first and foremost." He brought his gaze back on the stallion, and kept a friendly smile on his face.
He was more suprised if anything, especially since the stallion didn't seem angered at all. Most wanted to do a number of things, like result to violence, stomp away from him, or argue for hours. It never phased Ariston, though.
"And what about yourself? Do you find perfection important?" He gleamed and watched the stallion closely.

"I should think that the answer to your question was an obvious one, Ariston." He gave his head a light toss, curls fluttering in the air before falling perfectly against his neck. He had always carried himself with pride, moreso when he had been put down by the one who had raised him.
"Perfection is important in myself as well as those I associate with. My name..." He held his head higher, eyes still focused on the other stallion as he prepaired to speak on. "... Is Taint."

"That is refreshing to me, you know." He sighed delightfully, and basked in the other's pride. "Others are so foolish around here, they say that they have such a thing as perfection, when really they lack it quite a lot. Its a shame, since they try to bring down the level of what perfection really is." He grinned and looked at Taint closely. It was good to have another in a different age group that held himself so strongly on such a subject.
"Now, what kind of mix are you Taint? I wonder since I have not seen such a thing before.." besides the little UniKalona that was tagging along with him lately, he really hadn't seen any other mixes of anything. Taint didn't look Kalona, nor did he look Unicorn by the horn on his head.

"If they claim to have perfection without knowing what it is or what it means they have nothing." He spoke simply, letting the words flow easily from his mouth. His own words were one of the few things that he believed in. "They may strive for it but, without proper convinction, it will always evade them."
He let his eyes close for a moment as the question of his heritage was brought up. A twisted smirk curved his mouth as he found the answer he was looking for, lids lifting so that he could gaze at the other stallion once more. "My mother, if such a word could be used to describe the mare that birthed me, is a kalona. My father..." He had never been certain as to what Plague was and, in truth, he didn't believe that it mattered. Nor did his mother's race, for that matter. He was himself and, in the end, he was better than both of them. "... is a disgrace."

Wow, so he had Kalona in him? That was suprising, though these days, mixes like that tended to come up often. "Well, I also believe that there are those who will always be imperfect. Some are aware of such, while others hold a false image of themselves. I really don't know why someone would falsely portray themselves."
At his next set of comments, Ariston just eyed him carefully. That was strange, Loveless also called her mother a disgrace, and lately had been calling Ariston one as well. Kids these days!
"So you come from an, interesting family I take it." He shrugged, nothing else could really be said with that kind of scenario. But still, hearing that almost made Ariston sad. At least Loveless still found pride in Ariston, and that kept him going even if they didn't speak much anymore.

"Not all who strive for perfection will find it. If there were not imperfection in something perfection would seem less important than it is... And it is important. Very important." He snorted softly. "They falsely portray themselves because those that they do so before are often young and impressionable."
He took a deep breath, releasing it slowly as he resisted the urge to snarl as 'family' was mentioned. He would hardly call what he'd had durring his childhood a 'family'. Instead he smiled; a dark smile backed by the gleam in his eyes. "Interesting would be putting it mildly." As he looked to the stallion something clicked in the back of his mind; words that had been spoken by a crimson unicorn that had been responded to in kind by a kalona black as night with beautiful blonde hair. "You have a daughter. Her name is Loveless."

Ariston was about to respond when he noticed Taint bring up his daughter. His eyes were widened, but he tried to keep his composure calm. "You.. you have seen my daughter?" Good, she was doing well then.
"How do you know my daughter?" Ariston felt silly asking him questions he should have known, but she was off in her own world now, just as he was in his own. "This is a bit suprising for me, I just haven't talked to her in awhile." He couldn't hold back his own snort, and he shook his head to readjust his humongous mane.
He tried to drift his thoughts back to their conversation, and he calmly breathed for a moment to remember some females he had run into. "I dislike others using perfection in such an ugly light. Pride is what I am constantly, that is what I was made to be and absorb. So, when I see horrible looking soquili with awful speech and composure, boast around on their high horses, I get extremely annoyed. Its just wrong in my book. It also seems wrong in the logic of perfection." He gave out another chuckle. "What is deserved is made."

"I met your daughter when we were both younger... And again not long ago. She has become a beautiful mare; certainly something for a father such as yourself to be proud of." He nodded slowly. He now understood Loveless' view on her family far better than he had before. Her father, while magnificent in his own ways, cared far too much for his family.
A smirk curved his mouth as he gave his own head a light toss. "My Sire is one such as that. He talks a fine talk but there is no perfection in his words. He seeks to crush pride... He named me in hopes of discouraging me... My siblings the same."

Wow, so he must have really met her! Ariston wasn't neccessarily doubting him at first, but he was more suprised then anything. "Thank you," He said, calmly, and also a bit thankful for the compliment. With Loveless, anything could happen, so it was nice to hear her relations with Taint were alright.
"Raising young ones is a hard thing, but I am proud of what was able to come out of it all." Spreading beautiful was an important thing, afterall.
Ariston listened to Taint talk of his 'father' more, and he scrunched his face angerly. "Well, luckily a name is nothing. One can try and break someone else by such useless means, but a name is only a label in a sense. Take what idea your sire had, and make him madder by changing the meaning of the name." He grinned, only knowing so much about this from his own daughter. "Loveless was the same growing up, she hated that her mother named her after herself. Being better then her mother wasn't just an option, it was life for her." He felt compelled to share his own thoughts on this issue, and Taint seemed strong enough to handle whatever his father through at him.
