Ment toddled around the merchant square, talking to some of the local neighborhood kids while Olivia sat outside her shop, sipping on some iced tea. The summer was a hot one and brought on many rain storms with it. Because of this, Olivia had a small shade built onto the front of her shop so the kids had somewhere to sit when the sun got to bright.

She was glad it was finally going down, she was a little tired of child's feet running about her store, in and out for water or lemondaide or just to escape the heat. Nothing really changed...

He was glaring again. She could feel it. He was pissed off because they were out shopping once again. He could glare all he wanted, really, but she wanted to enjoy her day off, and though she was frightenly certain the boy could easily handle himself without her care, she didn’t wish to leave him alone inside their house.

However, on a brighter note, Tango had become slightly more open as he now clutched tightly onto May’s hand, his green eyes staring blankly ahead. This motion was credited to the fact that he had almost gotten lost from her when she had kept walking and he had stopped to…well. He couldn’t even remember why he stopped. But the fact remained that once he stopped he was nearly eaten by a crowd, and he wasn’t about to let that happen again.

As May noted the oil shop a pang of guilt hit her. Hard. She fastened her pace more then slightly, squeezing Tango’s hand in her own. He glanced up curiously at her, but didn’t speak a word at the girl’s actions. Though he was silent and he had only been around for 2 days his presence had become one that she was already accustomed too and found herself growing fond of the boy despite his mannerisms. A fear that he’d be taken from under her nose hit her icily. She had stolen him, they had every right to steal him back.

She moved to cross the street to even distance them further, however, when Tango decided to slip his hand away from her grasp and meander over to the shop’s shade. What ever it was that had May rattled wasn’t much of his problem, he had decided, and he was hot. He had no more desire to go shopping again, and as a result he figured she was a big enough girl. He trusted she could handle herself without his guardianship.

Olivia looked over at the boy, "Hello." She murmured plainly, the sufferng of the heat written across her face. She took a sip of her drink once more and went back to starring at Ment as he played.

The little rascal noticed Tango and smiled brightly, making his way over with a skipping-like gate. He wanted to meat Olivia's new friend. Afterall, any friend of Olivia's was a friend he could potentially steal fro himself! Oh the joys <3.

It was going to be one of those days.

Arius was on the prowl, as he liked to call it...hop-skipping about down, dark hair plastered to his forehead by sweat and not seeming to notice. He had some secret today, crimson eyes bright as he ducked into Olivia's shop, peering out the window as though he didn't notice anyone within.

He'd escaped from Farlest earlier in the day...and had been dodging him for the past hour or so. To the little scent, it was a game, but to Far, it was completely and utterly nerve-wracking. The mother's curse had proved true in this case, he had a child that was precisely as bad as he had been at that age.

Groaning, Farlest headed down yet another side street, much to the jubilation of his young charge who ducked down, and then peered back over his shoulder at the others who just happened, by his way of thinking, to be there.

Tango frowned a little, but just nodded in Olivia’s direction to signify that he had heard her. Apparently the woman had been out in the sun too long, and he wondered how long it would take until her skin would be the color of his hair. Taking a seat a ways away from her, but still in the shade he let a lazy yawn escape his lips.

He was just about to sprawl out on the floor for a quick sun nap, when he spotted something skipping at him though. Silently he hoped the figure was heading towards the sun dreading woman, opposed to him. Another kid. Oh the horrors.

May was panicking, really she was. She moved to walk on without him, but then stopped and glanced in the direction he had disappeared. Groaning out in despair she slowly shuffled her feet in the direction of Tango. Maybe if she could just snatch him out of there and ran…

"Hey!" Olivia yelled, getting up and running in after Arius, "Kid, what are you doing? My shop isn't a hi-...Oh....It's you." She sighed, placing a hand on the kid's sweaty little head.

"Arius where is your parent?" She questioned, looking out her shop for only a brief moment, hoping she'd spot Far somewhere.

Alas, no luck. Her quick glance did not serve her well as it was not timed appropriatley with when Far was walking donw the street. The poor man.

Too late. Ment had not directed himself towards Olivia, but indeed ran after Tango and knelt down before him gleefully. "Hi!" He chirped, burshing white hair from his sweaty peach face. "I'm Ment! What's your name?"

Arius blinked, surprised by Olivia's voice more than anything else. Oooh! He knew this one. He grinned beatifically up at her, crimson eyes wide and innocent. "I dunno, ma'am." He replied, hands behind his back, "We just got separated, so I figured...oh, yanno, I'd just wait for him."

Hah. Yes...he'd lost his father and now it would be a long time before he found him again, more likely than not. He wasn't sure if Farlest would think to look at this little shop or not...whatever the case, it made a dandy hiding place for the moment.

Momentarily his gaze flickered outside...to the other children. Hmm...he'd have to investigate Ment and the new kid while he was here, as soon as he deemed the coast officially clear.

Oh, man. Just his luck. He groaned mentally and looked at the chipper…kid in front of him. Ment? The tested the name inside his head, and then repeated it once more hoping to drill it to memory. At least he wasn’t the only one with a funny name. He had been about to open his mouth, or why he wasn’t even sure. He didn’t even have a clue as to what he was going to say, but thankfully he didn’t have to come up with a response.

“Tango!” May shrieked as she suddenly moved to a run standing at him looking worriedly around. Now where was that emo kid who had caught her before? Not seeing him, she felt relieved and yet-some how- more panicked. “Tango lets-“ She spotted the child with him and let out a restless sigh. “Hi there.” She addressed with the best smile she could muster. “What’s your name?”

Romolus wandered around the square going nowhere in particular. He panted lightly due to the heat and when a stray breeze blew by him he stood on his toes to catch the most of it. Along with a brief relief from the temperature, the Lycan caught a wondrous combination of scents that willed his feet towards Solace's. Only a few people looked at him strangely but he had gotten used to it. There weren't many Lycans going around town but he felt special just because of this.

"MEEEEEEEEEENT! TANGOOOOOOO!"

"SLOW DOWN, POLLY!"

Carrie and her pink-haired son came careening down the way, the former heaily laden with shopping bags. The girl huffed and puffed and stumbled like a broke-legged penguin as Polly sprinted to and threw his arms around Ment.

"HIIIII!"

Carrie huffed and puffed her way over to May and dropped her bags heavily.

"Yo."

Olivia sighed and shook her head, curls bounding back and forth in their ponytailed prison. "Don't you think it'd be easier for him to spot you if you were sitting outside with the other children, than, Arius?"

She placed a hand on her hip and held out a hand for him, "Com'on. Let's go outside and wait for your parent to stop by. If he doesn't show you can spend the night or something and we'll look for him in the morning."

Ment looked over at May as she scuttled over, "Your name is Tango?" He questioned, before looking back at May and giving a giant smile.

"Hi! I'm Ment! Is this your kid, Ma'am?" Ment asked, pointing to Tango with a grin on his face, "Want me to get him up?? I can get him up!" He smiled, grabbing one of Tango's arms to try and pull him up off the shop front and over to May.

Ment shrieked, giggleing as someone came up behind him and threw his arms around him. He breathed in deeply realising who it was, "Polly!" He giggled, letting go of Tango and turning to cling to his friend.

Tango couldn’t suppress the desire to roll his eyes as he heard May shriek out his name. Why couldn’t she just leave him alone for two seconds, really? It was hot and shopping was far from being his favorite pass time. He wanted to ignore her, hoping maybe she’d finish off the rest of her shopping before coming back for him. That nap was sounding increasingly good.

May smiled as best as she could as she nodded in the child’s direction. “Pleasure to meet you Ment, I’m…May. And yes, he is my…kid.”

Tango, for his part, had been just about laying down once more, glad that his “mother” had distracted the kid, all but half asleep. However, it wasn’t meant to be as the child, Ment, grabbed one of his arms attempting to pull him up. Tango, being ever the stubborn, attempted to pull all his weight back only to roll over awkwardly on his side as Ment tugged. His upper body still suspended in air as he attempted to pull away.

It was only with a familiar call that the other child dropped his arm, causing him to flop onto the ground unceremoniously. He scowled as he shuffled up into a sitting position, his emerald eyes narrowing towards Polly. Ah yes, the bubble gum scented boy who was there for his “birth” as May liked to call it.

A hand subconsciously found its way through his hair as he thought about the boys first few words towards him. Instead of giving a verbal response Tango opted to give a half hearted nod in the boys direction before allowing himself to be pulled to his feet by May who’s eyes seemed to frantically dart around as if worried about something. "A-ah. Hello Polly...Carrie." she murmured softly.

"How's it been with the mango-boy?" Carrie asked, out of breath. Polly simply grinned to May and waved slightly, shifting his weight from foot to foot as he hugged Ment.

"Meeeeeent~ I missed you!"
PostPosted: Sun Jun 24, 2007 4:56 pm

Ment giggled and hugged his friend tightly, resonating with so much glee it'd no doubt make you puke with sugary love. "I missed you too!!" He squeaked, letting him go and waving to Carrie, "Hi Polly's mom!"

He turned back to May and smiled, "May's a pretty name..." He smiled, as Carrie spoke again. Ment turned to Carrie confused, "Mango-boy?"

He let go of Polly and looked over at Tango, and stepped over, sniffing.

May smiled “Why thank you.” She spoke with a soft laugh “I think Ment’s a cute name myself.” She spoke hoping that after all of Polly’s cheers she really did have the correct name. It was Carrie’s question that had eyes darting back to the girl. She was about to answer in a hushed whisper about how the little s**t had stolen her shirt and hadn’t even bothered to talk to her, when a child’s ears picked up on what they were never meant to hear.

Tango frowned, his eye brows wrinkling as he took a step backwards. A sneer marred his face showing his obvious displeasure at being sniffed. “Hey!” He shouted in a sharp manner, causing May’s head to whirl in his direction. She held her breath, not entirely sure if it was because of Tango’s words- or rather word- or the sight of Ment trying to sniff him. Casting a worried gaze at Carrie she tried to silently ask for help. None of this boded well for the young journalist, she was certain.
