Okay, so I was looking for some Harry Potter sites on Google, and one came up that looked pretty interesting, so I clicked on it. It turned out to be someone's essay on the Harry Potter books, listing some things like foreshadowing, similarities, and some other things that didn't make sense to my tiny thirteen-year-old brain. It kept talking about the use of socks throughout the series among many other things, including the many unnoticable connections between Ron and Dumbledore.Examples: -Most of the time when Harry is at the Weasleys' house before leaving for the Hogwarts Train, Mrs. Weasley can almost always be found folding socks. -Ron always seems to get socks for christmas, which he cast aside. {This wasn't in the essay, but now that I think about it, Harry mentioned in the first book that the worst gift he'd ever recieved was a pair of his Uncle's old socks.} -In The Chamber of Secrets, when Harry asked Dumbledore what he'd sene in the mirror, Dumbledore said he'd found himself holding a pair of socks. -Dobby the House Elf was freed using Harry's old sock. -Hermione could be found knitting the Kitchen Elves socks for Christmas, I forget which book. -FIFTH BOOK: Tonks said that her mother knew a charm to easily fold socks, but she was no good at it.It also said that the Fifty-year-younger Dumbledore, from Harry's encounter with Riddle in The Chamber of Secrets had auburn hair, which is red, the same color as Ron's. Ron and Dumbledore both seem obsessing with sweets. In The Prisoner of Azkaban, when Ron and Hermione went to the sweets shop in Hogsmade, and didn't know Harry was there behind them under the invisibility cloak, Ron suggested getting Harry some cockroach clusters. In the next book, the password to get into Dumbledore's office that Harry needed to guess was: Cockroach Clusters.FROM THE FIFTH BOOK: Malfoy sang a chorus of "Weasley is Our King" during the Quidditch match, in an attempt to make fun of Ron. But, he mentioned something about "born in a bin," which the author of the essay said was put in italics. Bin means two, like "binary." But, as the author brought up, does that mean Ron is living a double life?Discuss: Odd similarities and such between the characters, perhaps that you believe may not be there by accident...Hey, I just found the site again! /Pointless Reply. Ooh, now I want Slytherin socks! I love cool socks... Anyway, yeah, I had noticed that socks are mentioned overmuch, but I don't think it has any specialty significance. And the 'Ron is Dumbledore' theory. Well, it's certainly an amusing read, that's for sure.

Socks...those satanic little creatures have wriggled their way into the lives of even the great wizard Dumbledore! gonk I believe socks are evil. They simply like to deceive us into believing they are not planning world domination, which is why they do nice things such as warm our feet. Where do you think your socks really are when they've disappeared around your bed? In meetings! If this has worried you, feel free to PM me for ways to repel evil socks. And the similarities made me think...Ron is Dumbledore! AH! o.o; Yes. Just ignore that. I've been acting strange lately.

KimCL But...you can put noodles in a sock, wet it, then beat someone and it wouldn't make a single mark! We need socks... whee Et tu, Kim? gonk It's all part of the socks evil plan to make us trust them. They make it so it seems like we need them, so by the time they're ready to take over the world, no one suspects...except me, the all mighty President of the Anti-Sock Association, and my followers! mad

I'm the proud owner of my Gryffindor socks. Odd relation though, socks and wizards. Kinda like towels and hitchikers.
