I'm not sure if I'm allowed to be asking this, but it wasn't in the rules, so....
You know a game is good when people are still talking about 10 years later. My question is, how old are most fans?

Ill be 19 next week. Game captivated me back with its release in '97 and hasnt let me go yet.
And I must say, damn good idea with this thread. Its a natural first.

yeah... i just dont like the new fans and the ppl that make fun of it... when it came out this game was amazing... the graphics were like nothing before it and everyone liked it... now with the movie and DoC everyone tries to act like they always liked it or they make fun of it cuz they base it off the graphics we have now... its the longest story outta all Final Fantasy except XII... its still amazing to play and always will be

I watched my older cousin play it when I was six... I got myself a copy at eight... And... *sweat* I beat it at 13... And I've beaten it many times in the last four years... ^^ (17)

First played the game when it first came out, I was 7 then. Bought my own copy when I finally got a Playstation at around 12 years old. I'm 17 now.ghostrider203 yeah... i just dont like the new fans and the ppl that make fun of it... when it came out this game was amazing... the graphics were like nothing before it and everyone liked it... now with the movie and DoC everyone tries to act like they always liked it or they make fun of it cuz they base it off the graphics we have now... its the longest story outta all Final Fantasy except XII... its still amazing to play and always will be

I started playing it when I was 10 and finished at 13. The game took me 3 freakin years of my life that I can never get back, but I loved every minute of it. I don't have any plans to replay it unless a remake comes out though. I think it would be intersting to play it wth a different party.

There are people who who can look past the decade old graphics and see the beauty within the story. These people are perhaps better than the original fans who just went "oh, pretty polygons!!" and didn't understand the plot. I'm 25 this year... though I was a slight late-comer, perhaps a year or so.

Only a few new fans would actually appreciate the original FFVII (unless they are just diehard FF fans, they'll love anything.) Also considering the fact that they've already been fed Advent Children. When they look at the original game, they probably won't appreciate it as much. Well, that's my guess anyway. I actually love the polygons! xd

I actually watched AC first before playing the game (because I didn't know that I could get it for PC at the time) and watching the movie just made me want to play the game and now I'm a die hard fan of both the game and the movie. FFVII also got me into other FF games since it was the first Final Fantasy game I ever played.

I started playing at age... 5 xD (and got all the way to Gold Saucer =D)
But i didn't get to the North Cave till age.. 11.. (when i started playing again =P)

these r the fans im talking about... the good ones... u all played when if first came out and u know how amazing it was... no ur right new fans arnt bad but the ones im talking about r the ones that act like they know everything about it... just cuz u play the game and see the movie doesnt mean anything... ive had ppl(die hard fans) ask me who the guy in the movie was... Its Zack! any true fan knows the story of Zack... the one beyond the game and movie...
